The reviews I’d read on booking.com were a fair reflection of our stay. This is quite an old and dated hotel. It was like visiting my nans house in regard to the furnishing! However the location is amazing and Baden Baden was way better than I expected, fantastic for a 1 or 2 day stop so the value for money at this hotel was good. Even though it looks tired it was clean and comfortable, the bed and shower were decent and the breakfast was very nice. I’d read a couple of things about the staff being a little brusque but although they weren’t throwing cartwheels in having us there I think language was a bit of a problem and that is wholly our problem as their English was better than my German

As above, just a very old fashioned hotel. Parking and city tax did increase the bill a little more than I expected too

We stood outside and it looked a little run down. I told my sister we could always get somewhere else. Receptionist didn’t speak English (why should he - he was a German in Germany) and appeared a little grumpy. We went into our room and fell in love. I immediately went down and booked an extra night. Big smile from the receptionist when I him it was because we so loved the room. The room was so charming, very spacious and the most comfortable had stayed in. Two huge windows facing one way onto the old town and French windows with a balcony onto the front square. Breakfast was excellent with a good range and quality. The location was fantastic, and provided excellent access to the thermal baths, restaurants, shops and for just looking at the beauty of the town which is very worthy of being a UNESCO Heritage site. The only downside was no parking at the hotel, you had to use a pay car park a couple of hundred metres away. If we had wanted a hotel with parking, we would’ve been paying two or three times as much so I’m not complaining I just want to make a note for those for whom parking is a critical factor. We walked up to the old castle which was strenuous but well worth it (we could have parked closer but wanted the exercise). Completely fell in love withBarden Barden. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anybody with a soul. It is not a bland boring chain Hotel, it has charm, character and personality.

The staff is welcoming, helpful and very friendly. We had a spacious, charming corner room with a view of the bath and park. The breakfast is great and an amazing value. It includes eggs made to order, cakes, fresh rolls, meats and cheeses, and quite a few other items. The hotel very close to many sites and in a pretty location by a park and walking path.

The hotel needs a bit of updating but was overall very comfortable. Parking is not available, despite of what was indicated and we were directed to a public garage nearby. The restaurant attached to the hotel has also been closed down… we had hoped for on-site easy dining on arrival day.

The hotel gives you an opportunity to enjoy old-fashioned charm. We were lucky as we were given a wonderful room upstairs which we thoroughly enjoyed. You can't beat the location - you are 50 meters away from the Friedrichsbad, and 100 meters away from the Caracalla Spa. It was also nice and quiet.

Breakfast is on a modest side, although egss - to be made as you wish - are on offer. Perhaps, more fruit and some stuff for Vegan diets could be a nice addition.

This hotel is in a great location, right next to the thermal baths and close to all the restaurants etc. It is also a good base for hiking in the Black Forest, as there are hiking trails that start just above the hotel. It was very quiet, the staff were very friendly and breakfast was good. I was offered two rooms on arrival, so was able to choose the one that best suited me. It was spacious and comfortable. A kettle in the room would be nice.

Right in the centre of Baden-Baden and so close to the Freidrichbad. So excellent location. Very nice interior and nice rooms. Breakfasts and breakfast room very good. This would be a solid choice for anyone looking for three or four nights in Baden-Baden. If you want to travel to other places, I would recommend Freiburg, Freudenstadt, Rastatt and Karlsruhe including the Darlach district. Special shout out to Kleiner Magier restaurant not far from rail station.

I was happy with my entire stay

The location is ideal. The staff is incredibly friendly and treats you like family. I found the decor charming, especially in the breakfast room. Great value with a friendly staff.

The bathroom, specifically the shower, was not as clean as you would hope. There was a massive power outtage while we were in Baden-Baden, which is obviously out of the owners' control, but considering that they mentioned that the power was working in their home area, it would have been nice if they offered some sort of makeshift breakfast, as it was included in the reservation (even breadrolls or such from a bakery). It's unfortunate this happened; again, the situation was beyond anyone's control. A little more reaction from the owners would have been appreciated, even as a gesture.

Right at the centre of Baden-Baden, you can enjoy the town on foot. Easy and not expensive parking if you follow the instructions of the reception. The hotel is old but has an atmosphere. Very good breakfast.

The man in the reception is experienced and provides all necessary info if you are careful and patient enough not to get irritated by his "local sense" of humor (maybe due to me speaking english)

Old style hotel but that has his own charm. Location is just perfect, litterally in front of the two therma's in Baden Baden. The room we got had a big jacuzzi bath (no a real jacuzzi with bubble though), and that was great to recover from the trip. Parking at the hotel (with extra charge) was handy as walking, and parking are not necessarily easy in the city (steepy street).

Breakfast was great, plentiful and the egg menu was delicious. Location excellent right next to the Caracalla with a direct tunnel route when it rains. We were hiking round the local forest and many routes were close by. Beds were comfortable too and the rooms were a good size, we had a small balcony to enjoy an evening beer.

Wifi was a bit patchy and used the free town WiFi instead on occasion.
