Room was very comfortable and its location was perfect, shaded from the sun and relatively cool.The shower was fabulous. Dining room atmosphere was lovely and breakfast choices are excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful, always smiling. The Woolpack is about 10 minutes walk from Chilham Station which is ideal for Canterbury so no traffic queues or parking problems and the picturesque village centre a short walk away.

Location was lovely on the edge of a beautiful historical town. We had a ‘cottage’ with a garden which was perfect for our dog. And possibility to eat across the street in the pub. Personnel was very hospitable. Also great that check out was at 11, which means one can actually enjoy the room and get up in peace. Would highly recommend and sure to come back.

I could not get the shower to work, so took a bath in stead. And stupidly we did not realise tea and coffee were in the cupboard, so missed out on that, might be good to quickly point out at check in. Esp. As we had a third bed set up in front of the closet.

Attentiveness of staff, food & drink

Tacky / faux Victoriana styling of room en-suite. Staff said hotel had had a major refurb two years ago but styling / quality of that has to be brought into question. Bathroom contained: (1) cheap plastic shower train which is already beginning to disintegrate because the gap between it and the door means you can't help but bump into it; (2) faux Victoriana fittings / sanitary ware with ceramic inserts (i.e. not durable, stylish, industry-leading Grohe / Hans Grohe stuff); (3) sink that is already chipped. Subsequently visited the non-SN Lydden Bell whose stylish, modern rooms are a good example that SN could emulate.

Wonderful old building that has been lovingly refurbished with comfortable bar and restaurant areas. The location was great for us. We found our room to be very clean and well equipped, with a good shower and toiletries. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was really good. Staff were friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night, but would certainly book again.

Be prepared for steps and crevices in such a lovely old building! The well stocked hospitality tray and mini fridge were inside the wardrobe which made the kettle a bit awkward to use. The bed was super firm. The room was also very warm when we stayed, although staff had done their best by leaving windows open, and a fan was provided.

Venue and staff: What a stunning venue!! The interior is beautiful giving a homely feel. 2 roaring fires, plants to soften the stone and lovely lounge chairs to sit in after a day of exploring with a great drink. For me the highlight of this place is the team that work there! Very accommodating and friendly! On our 2nd morning they knew our breakfast order, drinks order and asked if we enjoyed the places we had told them we were doing. To me it’s these small things that give great customer service! The rooms: The room was so incredibly clean! Very comfortable beds and a lovely ward robe space with regularly stocked tea, coffee and biscuits. It has a great shower! We stayed in room 14 and my only criticism was the bathroom area was incredibly small. Food and drink: Oh goodness! 10/10!!! We are here every night, we cancelled our booking to the Ivy, Canterbury, for our last night celebration, to eat here. The food is fresh, tasty and not too overpriced. There is a great variety. The breakfast was filling and set us up for our travels for the day. From lovely fresh pots of tea to the best French Martinis I’ve ever tasted!! Location: This is ideally located! We did loads in the 4 days we visited! If you like having a drive and explore like us you will love it here. Canterbury is a 10 min drive away, which was a lovely place. The second day we drove to Whitstable which took 25 minutes then did the whole coast in a day ending with a walk at the white cliffs of Dover (Margate, Ramsgate, Sandwich,Deal and Dover) Dover was 30 min drive. Third day Hever Castle which was a lovely morning (1 hour drive), Royal Tunbridge Wells and Ashford (great for a shopping trip) Fourth day Heading back north for home so we visited Isle of Sheppey for 5 minutes (I would not recommend) then to Rochester which was a lovely place to visit!

There was nothing we didn’t like! We had an issue with the hearing that was resolved immediately.

Good on-site parking. Very friendly and helpful staff. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, well maintained and comfortable. In room tea and coffee weren’t just the usual average tea in tea-bags, but a good quality tea selection. Evening meal in the restaurant was exceptionally good. A good selection of real ales at the bar. Breakfast (full English) was freshly cooked with good quality ingredients and plenty of it. Tea was good quality loose-leaf, served in a glass filtered pot and 3 funky egg-timers which were started when the tea was first made - which ensures you can select the strength you want by deciding which timer to follow. All in all, very impressed and would definitely book again when we visit the area next.

This was actually my second stay here whilst studying at ABDO college. It's perfect location wise, just a 30-40 minute walk to the college, and the food is EXCEPTIONAL. I had scrambled eggs every morning which were super yummy. I also ate here every evening and, although on the pricier side, it was consistently delicious. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and you really feel looked after. The atmosphere in the pub and restaurant is amazing and the room was so cozy and warm. I'll be coming back again next year for my next college visit too!

Loved everything about our stay, the staff were lovely and very friendly. The room was stunning, lovely and spacious. The bed was so comfy and everything was very clean. Very happy to have a choice between taking a bath or having a shower. The fantastic surprise of our own outside space was an absolute bonus too. My little boy also loved staying here, the staff were lovely and accommodating to his fussy eating habits. Would highly recommend. The breakfast was amazing and completely customisable. We chose to book here for convenience as we were visiting family in the village and I'm so glad I opted to pay a little more for a beautiful hotel on the family's doorstep instead of staying somewhere further out at a cheaper price. Definitely worth the money, we will be booking again for our next visit to Chilham.

If I had to nit pick at something I could only say, whilst having a lovely selection of tea and coffee in the room, there was not a proportionate amount of milk and sugar available to have multiple hot drinks. However I'm sure they would have been promptly refilled had I actually asked.

Very comfortable and cozy but in a spacious way....the staff were amazing. And as stated exceedingly dog friendly. Although I have posted a couple of things I didn't like I would certainly go back and certainly recommend to others

The bedroom was exceedingly hot....even with windows fully open all night...obviously a bonus if the same in winter. The stairs were quite steep....being registered disabled and having problems with my knees it was quite a challenge Through choice I would have liked a little more vegetarian choice on menu in restaurant

The room and en suite were both superb and beautifully furnished. There were plenty of toiletries, towels and complimentary tea and coffee (although I had to Google why I couldn't get the coffee machine to work but got there eventually). I enjoyed a lovely hot, deep relaxing bath and slept like Rip van Winkel. There is ample, onsite parking off the left-hand fork, at the rear of the inn

The in-house dinner was somewhat pricey and I dined alone which I might not have done if the food was more reasonably priced: I mean, charging £9 for a dessert is positively ludicrous! The dinner itself (I had the Jerk Chicken burger, no starter and bread and butter pudding for dessert) was nice but, with a couple of pints of lager, cost £40.50
