We had a very large room with a sitting area. This meant we felt comfortable and able to use the room as an apartment. The bathroom had a bath along with a shower. The pub is a well maintained, mahogany and mirrored tradition establishment, felt very authentic. Location was great. We even got a sea view if we looked carefully! The bar person was welcoming and took our rucksacks in 3 hours before check in.

Nothing really. You get what you pay for. I suppose if I was been picky I’d say the macerater is noisy, but then it wasn’t a problem because we were just careful with the times we used it (didn’t flush it at 2am)

Extremely well-placed for eateries, and additional bars - we did try their bar but we prefer craft or real ales so, for us, the drinks choice was limited (not a problem though as we were there to see more of the area!). Their Sunday carvery was super, and the staff were very helpful, polite, and welcoming. The room was huge with two tub chairs to sit in to watch TV - not that we were there to stay in the room long but lovely to have a different option than just having the bed to sit on! (NB a small table to put your drinks on would have been perfect 😉).

The decor in the room, and en-suite were starting to look a little tired - only cosmetic though, the room was clean and tidy so suited us just fine.

Perfect location. The room was more than adequate. Large, airy, and light. Ensuite was exactly as you would expect. There was also a jacuzzi that we didn't have the time to utilise. I am sure, however, it would be a great addition to some. Easy access for the train station for a trip to Durham. Also, in the middle of the Cleveland way. Great walks. Beach is clean. Everything closes early, though. Plan ahead for food.

The local area's facilties close early in the week. Plan ahead for meals out. Get the drinking complete by 9pm.

Alot of paint hanging off bathroom wall just needs a scrape off and touching up or sanding ..£98 decent price for location but I think maybe charge £10 extra and offer breakfast...fire escape not very well lit that you have to use to get in if pubs closed and sign on it saying to not lock fire door when the building is occupied ...! I find this rarther strange I think as anyone can enter the building and access the rooms from outside.

Large room. Good size bathroom with bath & large shower. Proper pub. Didn't eat but drink prices ok.

Jacuzzi bath fitted but didn't work & a patch of paint peeling in the bathroom. Extension lead for kettle is buried in the wall. If connected to the mains make it a wall socket. Pub shuts early so re entry to room is by the rear fire escape, via a rear alley past the local bins. The area was clean & tidy but some might find it inconvenient. Met with price expectation.

Central and with Saintsbury for pre-booked parking near by, since the on road parking was all taken at the bank holiday weekend.

The shower had only cold water, and yes...we let it run for a long time. I left a phone message on the contact number we got given 4 days before our arrival and got no call back. I contacted the Victoria through the messaging service of our booking.com side and had no reply. That was a poor performance! I ended up calling the pub on the landline and Rachel was fantastic with help and advice - well done to her!!

Great location and good value for Saltburn. Rims were very clean, tidy and bright.

Would not suit people with mobility issues as there are several flights of stairs to get into the room and the evening and morning entrance/exit is via an outrigger. There’s nothing wrong with this particularly, but anybody with mobility issues would struggle.

Disappointing as there was no breakfast. There should have been for the price we paid. The cafés near by was either poor Or very expensive.

Inside the drawers was dusty and the paint in the bathroom was flaking onto the floor. I also asked for a ground floor room. In an email this request was expected but ther wasn't any Ground floor rooms in the hotel.

Rachel and her partner were extremely accommodating hosts. They allocated me an early check in and provided items needed for my evening meal. Rachel was really friendly and helpful. My room was lovely and spacious, the bed was very comfy and smelt lovely of fabric conditioner, the bathroom was modern and very clean.

This served our purpose; we were en route between a holiday in Scotland and returning home via friends and family. We’ve been tho Saltburn before and there’s a restaurant there we like that we could meet our friends at. We just needed somewhere central to stay. Saltburn seems to be an expensive place to stay and this was at the cheaper end, so we didn’t expect many frills. When I asked for a hairdryer the manager kindly delivered one to me. It was a stormy night and the power went off just after we returned after dinner out, the manager came down to check we were ok. Apparently power cuts are not uncommon during bad weather here! Thankfully the power came back on after about 20 minutes; be aware if the power fails no water goes down the drains as the en-suite has a macerating toilet which requires power to operate and the bath and basin both empty through the toilet outlet. It was a very large room, but warm and the bed was comfortable. When we arrived we’d had a long journey and I was pleased to see the bath. I enjoyed a lovely soak with plenty of hot water and the shower had good water pressure.

It’s difficult to criticise as this was cheap for Saltburn, but not cheap for a room for a night. Don’t expect big fluffy towels, shower gel, shampoo or conditioner.
