The accommodations were every bit as lovely as they are in the photos. The bed was very comfortable, the room spacious, the hot water was plentiful. We had asked for a quiet room away from their event rooms (many weddings and celebrations happen there all week long), and they delivered. Breakfast was great: the food was high quality and diverse. The servers were attentive to our tables for tea/coffee refills. The staff are all really nice people. They make the place, in my opinion.

Only nitpicky things: the fuse had blown for the heated towel bar in our bathroom, and though staff tried, it never did get fixed over the six days we were there. We arranged for the room to be serviced about every other day, but some days we could see that it was a partial job--the tub wasn't cleaned or the rugs still had some grit. The restaurant has beautiful views, and we ate there twice, but after that, we didn't because the menu had a limited selection. There are a couple of nice pubs nearby, though.

The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. The public areas were clean and pleasant, including the bar area, which was decorated for Christmas. The gardens were pleasant and well-maintained. The building itself is quite individual and attractive, in its way! Our meal in the restaurant was good. The hotel was easy to find, and quite convenient for Manchester and the motorways, although it was in a quiet location.

The shower over the bath in our room was a little cramped due to the sloping ceiling.

Beautiful location & very gracious old house tho bedroom a bit tired. The breakfasts were excellent. We stayed 3 nights and had 2 evening meals which were lovely but pricey & what my husband calls 'pretty food but doesn't fill you up!' The disabled facilities weren't good -a couple of steps to get into reception & 3 more to get to ground floor bedrooms. Otherwise we had a lovely stay & the staff were very pleasant & helpful.

Steps as I have mobility issues

We stayed on two separate nights, 2 weeks apart and were delighted with the friendly welcome when we arrived the first time. Our first room 'Kensington' was spacious and extremely comfortable. Food was excellent at dinner; good at breakfast as the buffet was frequently replenished

On our second visit the receptionist had trouble finding our booking which was embarrassing. Our second room 'Buckingham' was more cramped but still quite comfortable. The route to the breakfast room needs signposting: the receptionist must be tired of directing everyone

Lovely, old world type of country hotel. Set in beautiful grounds and ample parking. The staff were welcoming and helpful. A porter was very pleasant and helped carry in our large dog crate to our room. Our room was comfortable and very spacious. The breakfast was wonderful. The best I've ever had. I would certainly recommend.

It's difficult to think of anything. Perhaps some of the furniture looked tired or needed some minor repair.

Room was spacious and well appointed - nice touches were a full length "dressing" mirror, a sofa, a desk and a fridge. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm despite the cold weather. The bathroom was also well appointed and the showere was great. WiFi was excellent throughout the public areas and in our room. Food in the restaurant was delicious. The location was excellent for us as close to Knutsford and equidistant between Runcorn and Warrington where we were visiting relatives. Rural setting and the main road wasn't noisy. Some nice walks across fields and quiet roads. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Will stay again.

The room was a bit dark with only a few desk lamps for illumination and the fridge was noisy so we turned it off when in the room.

The lodge was amazing, it had 2 double bedrooms, 1 with ensuite. Huge family bathroom, tv in each bedroom. Downstairs nice lounge, comfy sofas, fully equipped kitchen with dining table & downstairs toilet. A nice back garden perfect in the summer. Your own parking space outside the lodge. The main hotel has a nice welcoming bar serving hot barfood & sandwiches. Also an alacarte restaurant which we did book & the food was delicious & well presented. Staff were warm & welcoming. Will definitley stay again.

Spacious and clean Lovely surroundings Food and service

Noisy doors closing with a bang at 5.00 am No green Tea (brought my own) TV not sky and all other programmes Channels - had to sign into with my account. Not happy doing this on shared access Long life milk! My pet hate and no fridge which I am surprised about. Noise from aeroplanes taking off (perhaps to be expected since so close to Manchester Airport)

The staff are exceptional here all extremely helpful and you really do feel special important and valued. We stayed in the Lodge which was fab and had drinks in the hotel bar plus hotel breakfast My advice stick to full English which was great. One of my party had Salmon spinach bagel and not so good. Immediately booked again for another night in Summer as enjoyed hotel and location. Liked all the free parking facilties too.. keep it free!

If i have to comment negatively I'd say Net in The Lodge kitchen needs freshening or changing ..

Bar meals available, good choices, so we didn't have to eat in the restaurant and so could dress casually as going to a wedding the next day. The coffee at the bar was very good. The staff were very helpful. The room used for the wedding breakfast was beautifully arranged and decorated. Our room was big ,the bed was comfortable and huge!The bathroom was beautifully clean and spacious with good toiletries and thick towels!

No decaffeinated tea in room. bed and breakfast wasn't on offer when I booked...We paid for the room and paid extra for breakfast.
