The location was perfect- by the water, close to town, and there were plenty of quiet public spaces so that I could leave my luggage when I arrived from the US early in the morning and have a nice place to rest and wait for my room to be ready. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated and the whole hotel had a really friendly vibe to it. This was because the staff were great! Everyone at the front desk was very helpful and the cleaning staff was so friendly, too! I want to send out a special note of appreciation to Daniel at the front desk who was so patient and kindly answered all my questions. I wasn’t planning on being alone in Reykjavik and he really made me feel like I had a friend in the city! I wasn’t expecting to love this place so much, but I’ll be recommending it to everyone I know who’s going to Iceland!

Nothing! It was great.

I love where this hotel is located, since I don't think I would've seen the beautiful Marina area if I'd stayed closer to downtown. There's also a chance to see the Northern Lights from the hotel, and you can ask to get a wake up call if the Northern Lights appear. It's still an easy walk to downtown. The hotel itself has a lot of character and interesting art, feels very warm & cozy, and has lots of fun public areas and rooms to explore. We also had a mini fridge in our room which was a nice surprise. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Warning: if a tour van/transport picks you up or drops you off, the bus stops for tourists are different from the public bus stops! There is a completely different bus stop route for tourists, which did not show up on Google maps. The tourist bus stop (#7, I think?) is just steps from the hotel, though some buses will only go to nearby stops that are about a 5-minute walk away. We didn't know this when we took the Blue Lagoon bus from the airport to the hotel and had to walk very far with our luggage on a very windy day. So check with the hotel staff before you book any transport so they can help you figure out which stop you should choose.

I had a truly amazing stay at this hotel. The breakfast each morning offered a wide variety of options, which was perfect to grab before heading out on excursions for the day, especially with the bus stop conveniently located right next to the hotel. Having a restaurant and bar onsite was also a huge plus. It made it easy to enjoy a quick drink or have dinner after a long day of hiking without needing to go out and find another restaurant. The staff were absolutely incredible. They were friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. They helped me figure out the bus system, offered recommendations for places to visit and things to do, and even shared tips to make the most of my excursions. I ended up loving Iceland so much that I decided to extend my stay, and the staff made the entire process seamless and stress-free. The views from the hotel were breathtaking. Overlooking the marina, the water, and the surrounding mountains made every evening feel magical, especially while watching the sunset. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and had everything I needed. The beds were cozy, the showers had great water pressure, and the blackout curtains were a lifesaver given how much daylight Iceland gets in the summer. I also appreciated the comfortable common areas in the lobby. While I didn’t need to use the larger spaces for gatherings, it was nice to have a welcoming spot to relax for a few minutes after breakfast while waiting for my excursion bus. The location was excellent as well. Being right on the marina felt special, but the hotel is also just a short walk from the city center—close enough to explore easily, but far enough away that it remained quiet and peaceful. As a solo traveler, I also felt completely safe throughout my stay. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. My experience was so positive that I’ve already recommended it to my family, and I plan to stay here again on my next trip to Iceland!

Location was a great base for exploring Reykjavik

Studio 6 room was great for us as a family of 4 but would have been a squeeze for 5/6 people.

The hotel was in a really good location to be able to walk into the main town in just a few minutes. A little confusing to find the main entrance at first. Free car parking for the rental car was a bonus. Was really clean inside and decorated lovely. Lovely open fire pit in the main entrance with was lovely and lots of little quiet rooms to tuck yourself away for a quiet read or social gathering. Lor coffee machine in the room which was perfect. Shower and bathroom all modern and well kept and the TV had English channels which I wasn’t expecting. All the staff were friendly and helpful, nothing too much bother. Free WiFi included just a log in every 24hours. Had a bar and restaurant but we didn’t use it all during the stay. Overall a really nice place to stay. Would recommend to anyone who wants to stay somewhere lovely with a 5-10 min walk from the main town centre.

The outside was very deceiving. Just a really plain white building and on a very busy main road but once inside, it really didn’t bother us.

Great location overlooking harbour. Nicely proportioned room. Modern shower. We had a room on harbour side so very quiet. Lovely sunset (and sunrise 3 hours later!!). Lovely friendly staff from reception to bar/restaurant to cleaning staff.. absolutely brilliant. I also LOVE their focus on ‘green energy and sustainability’. It doesn’t take away from your comforts in any way… but you ARE rewarded for being mindful about waste, recycling and reuse. Hats 🎩 off to this hotel.

Loved everything

Lovely hotel. Decor was quirky - so much to look at. Lots of sitting spaces downstairs. Bar and restaurant area was also great. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a room with a balcony facing the street - nice view over the the buildings and we could see the church. The location of the hotel was fab - in the marina - with lots of restaurants within minutes of walking. Also very convenient for everything in the harbour and till only 5 minutes to the centre of the old town. We had a car for our 7 night stay so it was a bonus having free parking in the gravel car park right outside. We ate in the restaurant on 2 nights and both dinners were lovely.

It really was only the price of the breakfast. Our deal did not have it included and to buy on the day it was very expensive (over 50 GBP) for us both!

The old marina view from our room and the old building with so many places to stay, relax, or eat at a table surrounded by books. It is a very unique building, we love it! The coffee machine was also a marvelous addition to our room.

The price is a bit expensive for the very small room and the tiny bathroom we got. If you have to stay for several days (as it was our case), it turns out to be a significant expense. It would be great if this hotel could offer a reward program for loyalty so if you return you can access better rates or a nice upgrade to a larger room.

Beautiful hotel, location by harbour and very close to walk to centre and near bus stops. The reception staff very helpful in arranging tours, and very knowledgable - thank you for sorting an impromptu visit to the SkyLagoon. Very warm, especially noticed when minus temperatures outside. Breakfast options good and very tasty. The restaurant was really nice-was the best meal had whilst in Iceland. Hotel exceptionally clean, glad paid extra for suite overlooking the harbour on 4th floor.

Would have been nice to have complementary drinks in the reception area during the day, but facilities there for a price if didn’t want to go out for a warm drink.

The hotel is well-located, just minutes from the city center, which makes it very convenient for exploring the area. However, based on my experience and observation, I would recommend that the hotel consider introducing a system to better accommodate guests who arrive several hours before the standard check-in time of 15:00. Many travelers, myself included, arrive tired after long journeys and would greatly appreciate the option to access a room earlier—even if it comes at an additional cost. Offering an early check-in option, perhaps for a fee, would significantly improve the guest experience and demonstrate greater hospitality and flexibility.
