Location - walking distance to all sights. Rooms clean with tea making facilities. Rooms small but had everything needed for our stay . Staff friendly and helpful.Would stay again if they could sort out AC and open the top floor in the evening.

Rooms were very small which was fine but it meant there was nowhere for our group of five just to sit and have a drink/play cards/chat in the evening. The rooms themselves were unbearably hot despite being given a fan. No air conditioning. Breakfast fresh but limited and expensive compared with other cafes etc locally.

The room and bathroom were compact but clean and totally fine for us for a couple of days in this beautiful city. I asked for a quiet room as I'd read the street-facing ones could be a bit noisy. We were given one towards the back, which meant no view to speak of, but that's the compromise for a good night's sleep - and we slept very well as the bed and pillows were very comfortable too. The blackout curtains worked well, also. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for arriving by Eurostar and exploring Lille on foot. We didn't have breakfast there, but it looked decent, and the rooftop balcony gave a nice view. Overall, for the price, it was of good value. I would return and recommend. Thank you, Hotel Chagnot.

Small recommendation: The room doors could have soft closing mechanisms installed, as they tend to loudly bang shut, which can wake you up when other guests are leaving.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Chagnot, perfectly located right in the heart of Lille. You honestly couldn’t ask for a more convenient spot – just steps away from the train station, shopping streets, and plenty of great cafés and restaurants. It made exploring the city an absolute breeze. The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. While the rooms are fairly basic, they’re functional, tidy, and just right if you’re looking for a no-fuss place to rest your head after a day of sightseeing. The service was genuinely warm and welcoming – the staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. One of the unexpected highlights was the breakfast, served on the top floor with a panoramic view of the city. A truly lovely way to start the day – fresh pastries, good coffee, and a beautiful urban backdrop. If you’re after luxury, this might not be your spot – but if you value location, cleanliness, great service, and a beautiful breakfast setting, Hotel Chagnot is a fantastic choice.

The room was great and clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. The staff were very kind and helpful, we really appreciated that. The hotel is very well located, since it's close to both train stations and it's walking distance to the old town and the main attractions for tourists. There are tons of food options all around as well. The locker option the hotel offers came in very handy.

Our room gave onto the street, so being right opposite the train station and being surrounded by restaurants, the noise is unavoidable, but that's hardly the hotel's fault. I can't really think of anything we didn't like!

The location is great, a 10-minute walk from Lille Europe and just opposite Lille Flanders station, buses and underground nearby. Westfield is very close and the city centre is as well, everything you need is within walking distance. Lots of restaurants around the property. Staff was very nice and helpful.

The noise throughout the late hours of the night and from 6am from outside. This is not the hotel's fault, is mine for not requesting a room away from the main road. We booked a room with two single beds and these were single size, very small for either of us.

The staff were very kind. I messaged in advance asking for a room with a view if possible, and they gave us a room overlooking the main square which was amazing! Location was perfect. Right next door to Lille Flandres station and a 10min walk from Lille Europe station. Very close to sites and attractions also. Fan was good enough for the small sized room. Has an elevator which is a godsend with luggage also!

Didn't love the pillows, but we've found this is a consistent dislike across French accommodation, not just this hotel! Other than that we had no issues.

The location is perfect. 10mins walk from the Eurostar station, and 2 minutes from the local station and metro. Everything that we wanted to see was within walking distance together with many restaurants and the shopping centre. Staff were friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast had a choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, breads, meats, cheese, jams and spreads, sausages and scrambled eggs.

No air con, although I did know this when booking, I hadn’t expected mid 30’s heat when staying! A fan had been put in our room which did help.

Friendly staff , warm welcome who were patient with me whilst I tried to remember the little French I learnt at school. Well positioned hotel for us after days on and off trains it was great to walk out of the station and just cross the road to the hotel .The room was small but enough, it served its purpose, it was clean and had a good view of the station. Breakfast was great on the balcony overlooking the station from the 7th floor .Choices for breakfast were limited but there was plenty for every taste. Anyone using Eurostar doesn't need a taxi or bus to get to the hotel either the station is about 300m up the road from the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel and Thank you.

There wasn't anything that I disliked my partner woke each morning to the sound of the road sweeper but that's not the fault of the hotel haha!

Firstly, it was so easy to find and just a few minutes walk from the station. Next, the staff are super friendly & very helpful and accommodating. We arrived early morning, so they stored our bags whilst we went to explore Lille and get breakfast. We had just missed the breakfast at the Chagnot. The room was clean & tidy, comfy beds and a nice view. Breakfast was a tasty buffet on the 7th floor and afforded a nice view from the balcony. I have stayed in a few hotels in Lille but this will be my go to hotel for future shopping trips.

We only stayed one night.
