The hotel is very close to the city center and although everything it is a bit small (standard French accommodation 🙂), it is perfect for short stays! The welcoming pack available in the mini bar was a totally lovely surprise (beverages, chips and waffles)! The room is nice designed with a very comfortable bed and a big bathroom containing qualitative essentials. The breakfast is amazing! French selection of cheese, croissants, pan au chocolat, fresh orange juice, fresh fruits, yogurts, etc. The staff is very nice, welcoming and helpful!

It would have been nice to have a room with a view instead of a big wall, but ok, we didn't spend much time in the room. 😁

Second time we stayed in this hotel - we love it and it has become our reference in Lille! Very warm welcome by staff who are always available and helpful, excellent and quiet room in this boutique hotel, great care to detail to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, including a great quality and varied home made breakfast which we love. The location is perfect- within a walking distance from both main train stations and also the city centre. Rooms are squeaky clean and modern and comfortable, warm and beautifully designed, and the bed is superb. Great bathroom with all necessary facilities, ecological approach to cleaning services, tips for city visits and a shopping discount programme with several local shops- we appreciated all of these and look forward to staying again with this hotel!

Nothing that we didn’t like!

The property was located very centrally in an area that felt safe. there were plenty of amenities near by and both the local train station and Eurostar station within easy walking distance. The staff were friendly and welcoming - the lady on the Reception desk (if I remember correctly her name was Margaux) was helpful in sharing suggestions on places to visit in the local area with my 4 year old son. She asked his name during check in an remembered it when we checked out 2 days later! The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Its clear that the hotel are taking steps to be environmentally friendly with the toiletry range provides being more eco options. All still very luxurious! I would remember BOA to friends and family and would love to stay there again one day.

Nothing much in the way of negatives. It was interesting that they put a hold on your credit card (mine was around £88) without forewarning. It was done as soon as I reserved the room a couple of months before hand. I originally reported it as fraud to my bank not knowing where it had come from. i hadn’t realised that it was the hotel who had put a hold on the funds until the reception desk had asked for a card for a security deposit ‘which won’t be taken out of the account but the funds will be held and released after check out’.

The hotel is very well renovated and nicely decorated. Beds were very comfy, reception was outstanding - especially the gentleman on saturday morning. Communication with the hotel before our arrival was brilliant, very accomodating with our requests. The location is super close to both the train station (5min by foot) and Grand Place (5min by foot as well); only minor comment is the square the hotel is located on wouldnt be my favourite area in Lille, cheap kebab restaurants and couple of people “hanging around”…not feeling unsafe but wouldnt stay for long at night either.

Breakfast below average (served in room)- half spilled on the way there and the fruit salad was served in a jam jar and clearly industrial with 80% syrup and bits of apple and I don’t know what else floating in it - I left it alone. I had hoped for a jug of coffee rather than just one cup. I heard someone complaining the A/C in their room didn’t work whilst it was 30 degrees outside 😱

One of the best things about this hotel is its location. It's just a short walk from the city center, so you'll have easy access to all the shops, restaurants, and attractions you could want. But what really sets this hotel apart is the staff. They truly go above and beyond to make sure their guests are happy and comfortable. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel enough. It's cozy, comfortable, and perfectly located, with a staff that's second to none. Whether you're visiting for business or pleasure, you're sure to have a wonderful stay here.

Excellent location for old town, walking distance from Eurostar Lille de Europe station. Extremely helpful friendly staff who went out of their way to help you even offering you umbrellas when it rained. The decoration is African based yet modern. The room was spotless with an amazing bathroom with a double shower, heated towel rail, hair dryer. Comfortable clean bed and a mini bar with complimentary soft drinks. Modern coffee machine was a nice extra. The breakfast was excellent and we had a lovely platter of meats and salad for lunch in the bar.They ran a green policy where if you stay two nights or more and did not use the staff to clean your room or change the towels then you could have a complimentary drink at the bar for each person staying in your room, what a great idea. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely use it again.

The only negative part of our stay that the hotel had no control over, was the idiots who came out in the early hours of the morning shouting at each other every night for hours on end. we were at the front of the Hotel so this was a problem if you had your windows open. I guess you need to keep them closed and use the air conditioning to get past this problem.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Up Hotel- we were given a free upgrade, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The breakfasts felt homemade (and some of it actually was) and all in all it was just such a wonderful, cosy, boutiquey experience- did not feel like a Best Wester at all! Would definitely recommend

The hotel is very small and can feel a little cramped, so might not be the best choice for wheelchair users or pushchairs. Having said that though we had a pushchair and managed fine!

We received a fantastic welcome as soon as we arrived. Marguerite, explained everything we needed to know about Lille and supplied us with a map and highlighted the places to visit. When we checked in later Amirek, with a massive smile and another warm welcome, checked us in perfectly and explained to us everything we needed to know. All the surprises I asked the hotel to organise for my wife they did. Throughout our stay, everyone was friendly, courteous and they prepared awesome gin and tonics.

Great hotel, a little gem of a boutique hotel in between Lille train stations and city centre. Being a BW chain hotel we expected it to be more impersonal and standard, however this hotel has a very original interior design, combining modern elements with Africa art work and culture, with attention to every detail. Room and bathroom was spacious and super clean, the beds were a bliss to sleep in and with high-quality bed linen. Breakfast was excellent and varied, with mostly homemade high-quality products like jams, bio yoghurt, fresh juice. We loved the professional staff and the warm welcome, attentiveness and availability throughout our stay, including their readiness to immediately sort out small issues to make us feel comfortable. Last but not least, this hotel takes ecological aspects seriously- from providing good quality solid shampoo and soap in the bathroom to rewarding guests for saving on water and cleaning services, and taking care to plan breakfast schedule to minimise waste. We appreciated this. We’ll definitely stay again at Boa Hotel!

The (free) wi-fi connection in the hotel was a bit weak, at least on the top floor where we stayed. Other than that we had a great stay!
