Perfect location, just a few steps from the central train station and right next to the Grand’ Place and the old town. Stylish old building with art nouveau elements. Everything was accessible and comfortable. The room was rather small but it had a wonderful view over the tops of the houses and a huge bathroom. The refrigerator and the coffee machine were a plus. The personnel was extra smiley and helpful.

The furniture and the upholstery were rather dated.

We went by Eurostar. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the Eurostar station and situated right in the historic heart of Lille. We had a superior room that was a good size with a balcony. Lovely old style hotel but well maintained. We went out for meals as so many good places nearby. The Opera was right next door. Would definitely stay here again. Staff very nice.

The wifi log in was quite complicated so we didn't bother as only there 2 nights.

Location of the hotel is fantastic and very convenient with just a short walk to the main square/shops. The hotel is in a beautiful old building in keeping with the area, which we liked. We had one standard twin room and one junior suite. Both rooms were spacious with comfy beds, plenty of storage, lovely bathroom and gorgeous views. We liked that the hotel was so clean and quiet. The buffet breakfast was varied and delicious. It can get busy at the buffet breakfast but dishes were replenished frequently. All in all a lovely hotel that we would not hesitate to stay at again and would recommend to others.

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. We arrived a little early hoping to just store our luggage somewhere but the receptionist said our room was ready anyway and let us check in early! Was very nice special room, we had the suite and it had a large bedroom and large sitting room area. Location was perfect, close walking proximity of everything you need

The only thing there wasn’t any shampoo in the shower which I have never found in a hotel but didnt ruin my stay at all, just worth noting if you are coming and not bringing toiletries

The location was very good - central and handy for all the amenities and walking around the City Centre. It was Easter weekend and the staff had an Easter Egg hunt for all children staying in the hotel - this was very thoughtful and our son enjoyed it very much!

Unfortunately the weekend we stayed there was a rugby club visiting from the UK. Our nights were disturbed on both occasions, but not as much as for other residents or staff. The staff were extremely apologetic and clearly upset by their experience. We felt sorry for them.

The buffet breakfast was plentiful with plenty of choice. The room was large and was quiet. The hotel is centrally located and is a close to the Grand Place. It is a short walk to the shops and restaurants of Vieux Lille and is a short walk to the two main railway stations. This was my fourth visit to the hotel, so can recommend it as a very good place to stay in Lille.

Room was spacious - however it was a room for disabled (which we did not need but we did need a walk in shower) upgraded for free. Weirdly, the wardrobe was in the huge bathroom!! Sadly the bathroom door was creaky and did not close well...however, we would stay again. Location is perfect.

Breakfast was average. Personally I dislike the use of coffee capsules in hotels which are committed to recycling. Proper cups / mugs preferred to glass cups

We had a room with a communicating door which we dislike. Past experiences have deterred us from this arrangement. We were moved to room 209 as nothing else available on the Friday. I was shocked that a 4 star hotel would have such a room. We were moved to an acceptable room for the Saturday and Sunday

1. Excellent, friendly greeting on arrival. 2. The location for a first-time visitor to Lille could hardly have been better. 3. Room was comfy and clean and had very witty and colourful murals, even on the shower screen! 4. Enjoyed the access to the balcony attached to the room

I was unhappy that my credit card had been debited for a sum of £158.13 with no explanation. I only saw this on my return home when I checked my bank statement. I called the hotel reception who tried to be helpful and provided some explanation. Then mysteriously, the originally debited amount morphed into £75, but still showed as a payment to the Mercure. Maybe this will be resolved, but it was an unsatisfactory postscript to a nice stay. One other thing was that we thought that the price for breakfast as excessive - better value could be had at nearby cafes.

I wanted some green salad as the breakfast. I used to travel a lot, and need to take care of my health during my trip. I try to eat salad as much as I can, and it helps to have salad if possible for thefuture.
