I loved how spacious the room was, it could probably fit 6 more bunk beds without being crowded (the bathroom wold not be enough though then). Very, VERY comfortable mattresses. Bravo! The location is very central, near the metro station, next to the expensive market and many many Chinese supermarkets and restaurants. I loved that as I'm a fan of Asian cuisine. I was surprised at how clean the hostel is, given that it has over 120 rooms on like 4 levels. Every day a cleaning lady would come in and clean our shared bathroom and that was such a relief! I applaud those ladies, they do a great job!

The room was super spacious and it was missing a sofa or some armchairs, in the big empty area in the middle so we could sit, chat, or just comfortably pack and unpack our luggage. I did not like that they charge for luggage storage. It seemed like they charge for every extra thing (towels, hair dryers, luggage, laundry, chargers, etc) and that gives you a feeling of, well, if you passed out or got hurt, they'd charge you to help. There was no salt or pepper in the shared guest kitchen and I found that very disappointing, especially after the thing I mentioned above. I mean I know it is a hostel, but you have salt, sugar and pepper for the paid breakfast and you could not put a salt n pepper shaker in the shared kitchen. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

Nice and comfy bunk beds with curtains for more privacy and a bathroom in the dorm. I felt very safe in the female only dorm. On top of that you got your own locker and safe (no own padlock needed). The hostel itself was really modern, centred and had staff at the check In desk 24/7, which is cool if you need to leave early.

Toilet or shower might wake you up if you are a light sleeper since the bathroom was in the dormroom

The hostel is comfortable and safe for Muslim and women solo travel. Choose room that share for ladies only 4 people and private toilet. I enjoy stay there and meet new friends. There’s curtain on bed and locker. Easy to take bus and train, walking distance. Opposite of the hostel there’s market sell foods and souvenir. Halal food available there.

The overall experience was great. Wombat's is well located, near to metro stations and close to many sights in Vienna, have a good structure - both for the hostel and the bedroom itself (similar to Wombat's Munich, but it was even better in my opinion) - and friendly hosts. Breakfast was amazing, good quality foods and for everyone (vegan and celiac options). Really enjoyed staying there at Wombat's Vienna.

The same as Munich - I was required to bring my sheets to the reception after the checkout process... but not my blanket. I don't know for sure (but I really hope so) if the blanket is being washed every time a new guest arrives.

It has a lot of shared spaces, such as lobby, bar, breakfast area, etc. Also the room’s space is very comfortable for 6 beds - it’s not the kind of hostels in which beds are all together. Staff are very kindly and provided enough information. Breakfast has a reasonable price for what is offered (5,90€). I wish I could have more time to enjoy the bar, it seems nice, there is music, drinks etc., sadly I was to tired to enjoy it completely, just took a beer and went to bed, but it’s open until 2:00am (this is cool as there aren’t a lot of options to have fun until late night during the week in the city) - and we don’t listen any party sounds from the room, what is crucial if you want to rest. The location is good as well, in front of a famous market and near to the train station. I have also gone by walking to the city center and it’s not a big deal as people have written, just a few minutes.

I would recommend the possibility to add a curtain in the bed, I’ve been in a lot of hostels that has it and gives you more “privacy” in a shared room. Also, the bathroom could’ve been cleaner, but it was okay not dirty as well. Finally, I would say about the smell, but as the windows are always closed as for the winter, this is acceptable, but if they could like spray something to smell better would be nice as well. These are just suggestions, not even one would make me not choose this hostel again. By the way, if I’m going to other cities which has it, I would stay.

The bar at night was lively and fun. The location is right next to the subway.. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. I liked that they had 4 washers and 4 dryers.

The breakfast has only a few options, and things like eggs cost extra. Putting soap holders in the shower would be nice. The lockers are adequate, but putting shelves under the bed would actually be more convenient, especially if you have a top bunk and are short. There is no place to lay out your clothes. there isn't really any nightlife, especially after 10, outside of the hostel itself. The instructions on using the washers is not very clear, especially the washer settings themselves.

Wombats in Vienna is located right next to the Naschmarkt with restaurants and flea market across the street for food and amusement. The train station is just two blocks away. The lobby has a coffee house and a pub and is a hub of activity with wifi. The desk staff seemed in command of what seems to be a high volume of visitors with a well designed system for single rooms and dorms. I left hostel stays behind after college but Wombats single rooms was not bad at all. Even with the college vibe in common areas and in the front sidewalk, with earplugs all was tolerable for our purposes. The hostel is 122 rooms. They keep the rooms sparse; hardwood floors, pipe frame beds, pipe frame clothing rack and plenty of outlets for devices. The floor was in need of a good vacuum so I just wore socks all the time. I stayed in a private double and the bathroom is ensuite rather than shared. My brother was in a twin room also with private bathroom. The rate seemed steep but upon comparing hotel prices around Vienna it was commensurate. I slept fine on the bed with quilt and there is a roof window that can be opened for air and also has a shutter for darkness. The towels and bedding were fine. I saw heaping trolleys of bedding as dorm sleepers make their own beds and turn them in for fresh bedding and there were cleaning staff pushing carts around at all hours. There is a common laundry room with soap available for purchase. There is a cafeteria and breakfast can be purchased per day. It’s a simple offering of oatmeal and yoghurt cups, cut up fruits, breads, tea, coffee, and some protein but emphasis on the simple. There is a communal kitchen to use, and also a variety of activities for people who want to socialize. Walking tours or karaoke in the pub and the like. It’s an impressive feat and I could see a lot of people keeping all the parts moving. It’s spendy for the accommodations, but it was fairly safe with keyed elevator, rooms and hallways and the location is excellent

We stayed for 3 nights and everything in the room was great, like a fan and a hair dryer. There are two lifts and you don't have to wait for them long. Washers were 4euros per wash but we didn't use them. Also we needed scales for luggage and the stuff had them :)

Snoring neighbor that was sleeping loudly for two nights till 3am and then would start packing at 4.15am till like 6am and not the night before (also had stinking gases) but it's a hostel soooo Also not a very big deal but we left strawberries (signed and with the room number and everything) in the common fridge for later and they weren't there later lol But we were lucky to hide bananas and avocados in the storage inside the room (good tactic for the next time)

The room was very spacious, clean and well equipped. The shower in the bathroom was good, high water pressure and warm water. The overall amenities were very nice, there was always something going on and people hanging out in the common spaces. The breakfast was a bit pricey, but very good. Excellent location, easily walkable to many attractions but also close to several public transit options, as well as a pharmacy and two supermarkets.

The kitchen could be a bit bigger, it would often get crowded during meal times, and there was not nearly enough cutlery and utensils to go around.
