Quirky, but hospitable. The staff was very friendly even being very laid back. The attitude dragged us down to a relaxed being. Hey. I’m on vacation, why get all wound up? I could have just gone to a big box chain if I wanted that. Food was really good as was the beer. Location was killer. I’m not a dog fan, but even with the dogs around, I was chill. And. Beer tokens if you reuse your bathroom towels. I was never so motivated to hang ‘em up for a second use.

No Air Con. The loft style of bedroom made it real uncomfortable at night. Their highly touted Dyson fan just reminded me it was 27C at night sleeping. There were windows, but not adjacent and couldn’t be opened. In design, with the large loft design, they should have put in a ceiling fan.

This is an amazing hotel - right next to the Royal Mile, and only a short walk to Princes Street. The rooms are really unusual... a mini apartment, with a bed on the mezzanine, and a proper kitchenette with dishwasher, hob and microwave - not that we ever used any of that! The focus on beer is all consuming, but that's fine... especially little treats like a free drink when you arrive, and a free beer token if you reuse your towels. The whole ethos of the place is excellent, with thought for the environment and inclusivity. Every member of staff (and there were plenty of them) was friendly and helpful, and the food was good, if a little limited in choice.

PLEASE get rid of "coffee bags" in the room... some of the worst coffee I have ever tasted. There is plenty of room for a Nespresso machine (other brands are available). I KNOW you provide pod coffee in the lounge, but I don't necessarily want to wander down there in my underwear (and other people CERTAINLY don't want me to do that). Housekeeping was minimal, which some won't mind.

Everything! Less than 10 min walk from the train station. Check in by a very friendly staff member who offered us a complimentary drink each and then took us to our rooms, Punk suites, he even carried our case so we didn't spill the beer! The rooms were very spacious with everything you needed. Bed and pillows were super comfy which was upstairs, bathroom with walk in shower downstairs, two seater couch in living room area, kitchen had a dishwasher, fridge with small freezer, small hob and oven. Automatic blinds which were great as we had a lot of windows, the lights were a bit confusing, some you had to double switch but no big deal. One room was Mango and one Mistletoe both rooms had different layouts. As it was our son's birthday we arranged for the shower fridge package in his room £25, well worth it and he took the leftover beer home with him. There was a lovely note in his room wishing him happy birthday with a can of marshmallow flavour beer in place of cake which was a nice touch. We had fun playing vinyls and fooling about with the guitar even though none of us can play. We used the mini bar and some of the snacks, also sat in the guest lounge and ate some free pic and mix another nice touch. Breakfast was amazing choices and delicious, we didn't eat dinner but have booked for dinner in February as we were impressed and already booking our next trip to stay there. One of the best quirky, spacious, fun comfortable and quiet hotels I've stayed in, never wanted to spend so much time in hotel bedroom before, perfect for a birthday treat, looking forward to going back.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the BrewDog DogHouse in Edinburgh. The room was set up with great facilities, including a record player and guitar for those with time or interest. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the location of the DogHouse was spot on for my needs. While the rooms are above the popular BrewDog bars and restaurant, not a peep could be heard in the room of the merriment going on downstairs. The staff were extremely helpful all round and both the room service and food and drinks offered downstairs were terrific. This was probably the best stay I had in Scotland. Would definitely go back!

The place had a cozy, stylish, and modern vibe—something between a hotel and an apartment, with a unique two-floor room layout that made it feel extra special. The location was excellent, within walking distance to shops, sightseeing spots, and everything you’d want to explore. The staff were incredibly kind and responsive, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. There were lots of fun and thoughtful extras, like an acoustic guitar, a vinyl player with a Bluetooth speaker, and even a “shower beer” compartment (for an extra charge). We also really enjoyed the beer keg in the room—£40 well spent! The breakfast was rich and delicious, and overall the stay felt like great value for money. Little touches made it even more memorable, like playing rock-paper-scissors with the bartender to win a dessert, and getting a beer token for reusing towels to help save the environment. Loved it!

A few small issues came up during the stay, but they were resolved quickly thanks to the helpful staff. The only thing I forgot to mention at the time was that the vinyl player in the room had a problem with playback—it would occasionally slow down and then return to normal, possibly due to an issue with the needle or tracking. Not a big deal, but worth noting.

It was everything I hoped it would be, and very true to description on site - a cool unconventional place, very comfortable and a well equipped room. Location is perfect - just between old and new city, and near the train station. Has a private lounge for hotel guests as well as access to the public bar, and performance's place (we stayed during the fringe festival). Friendly staff, great breakfast too.

No AC in the room!! we used the fan, but it was still too hot on August. However, the place was so perfect to us, so it didn't affect our good experience.

We LOVED the Doghouse - I've rarely seen such attention to brewdetail 🙂. The room is huge, bed comfy, drinks extremely drinkable and staff genuinely welcoming. Special thanks for vinyl selection, started off playing Screamadelica loud.

Small things in the room could be fixed - water from shower leaks to floor, lower banister is loose, scratches on the walls. Also, breakfast could include some freshed items such as yoghurt/berries/oats.

The breakfast had a range of different options but could have done with some lighter options too. The room was very well set out. The Brewdog theme was on everything and gave the whole place a funky feel. The staff were very friendly and attentive - made you feel welcome and for our 4 night stay, we felt part of the family and furniture!

The sensor lighting was a nightmare. One night I was unwell and tried to stowaway in the bathroom. However, everytime I moved, a light came on in the bathroom and under the bed upstairs. It caused havoc with my family as they thought they were in a disco. The sofa bed was uncomfortable. My son complained he got a bad back and lost sleep through it. The hotel is a long walk to Princess Street (with slight incline) - would have preferred somewhere a little more central. Price of wine seemed expensive.

10 minute walk from Waverley station and nice quiet part of town. Staff were very friendly and the food and of course the Brewdog beers were exceptional! My wife is addicted to the chicken wings . Loved the hotel residents sitting lounge that has tea and coffee facilities and free pick and mix. The rooms were well equipped with kitchen facilities, wireless phone chargers , Bluetooth speaker and record player ( and a selection of vinyl records ) . The famous fully stocked shower fridge and two fully stocked fridges in the living area ! Bed was comfortable and there was no noise at night ! Will be back again !

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room was fantastic - really clean, comfy, great facilities and nice little touches in the room like a beer fridge in the shower. There was a minibar in the room which was really reasonable priced, given that minibars are notoriously expensive, and they had a 24 hour hotdog hotline you could text for a massive hotdog with all the trimmings delivered to your room for only £5! literally the best hotdogs we have ever eaten! the staff were really friendly and engaging, the bed was really comfortable and we did not hear any noise despite being on top of a bar. 5 min walk to the city centre and just off the Royal mile. Would highly recommend!

nothing - everything was fantastic.
