We spent a wonderful week at Malaxiana Houses with our adult children, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the very first moment, we were enchanted by the peaceful atmosphere of the village, the breathtaking view of majestic mountains from our terrace, the gentle song of cicadas, and the magical silence at night, lit only by a sky full of stars. We loved that the village is tucked away from the busy streets of Chania, yet still just a short drive to beautiful beaches and local shops. The pool felt almost like our own private oasis, where we could relax at any time of day. The apartment had everything we could possibly need for comfortable living and home cooking. Our host, Dimitris, was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help, and Katarina was wonderfully supportive, offering advice and assistance even before our arrival. This is a place for anyone who dreams of true relaxation — surrounded by nature, peace, and quiet, far from the crowds, yet close enough to explore the beauty of Crete. We left with our hearts full and hope to return one day.

Very welcoming and charismatic host. Fully equipped kitchen, huge balcony with a Mountain View (we were watching stars) and a cute pool, especially fun for kids. Our daughter loved her bed a lot <3

Beds could use a softer topper mattress, as it was quite hard. No AC

This place is an absolute gem! It is only a short way driving from Chania, but gives you a feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. It is quiet, secluded, with an absolutely stunning view. The house was lovely, we had a lot of space for 3 people, but it also gave a very cozy feeling. The terrace with the mountain view was amazing. And the hosts are fantastic people who made us feel welcomed and made sure we had everything we needed. It is a 10/10. I would recommend it to anyone who is seeking a place with out of the beaten track vibe. It is a perfect place to disconnect from the noise of a city life and just relax surrounded by the sounds of nature and a Cretan village :)

Everything was amazing, the place, the pool, Demitri, and Katerina were the perfect hosts, we will be back to visit soon 😀

We had to leave behind two stray kittens, I expect every person who visits to keep them well fed and happy. Otherwise, they will answer to my daughter Sam haha 😄

The house is on a very nice place with a wonderful view on montains, the swimming pool is top. The équipement are good thought, all is very clean. We really appreciate our stay here and the warm wellcome of our host, Dimitri. The cats were friendly too… ☺️

It was a beautiful and remote place. Dimitris was so lovely. We basically had the pool to ourselves.

The owners are very kind people and speak English very well, so easy to communicate and get more information about nice things to do.

I visited with two kids of 16 and one of 18. At least for my kids the location was a bit too remote. By car 20min to Chania.

Very quiet atmosphere at just 15 minutes from Chania.

The view was quite good of the White Mountains . Dimitras the host was very pleasant and did his best to help. Not that we used it the shared pool looked clean and very nice.

A double bed 4feet 1.3 meters above the floor , needed a ladder to get into bed. It was poorly finished. If one was kind the inside could be described as quirky or possibly hand made.

The toilet doesn't flush! The pool is inaccessible during the day because of hundreds of wasps. The terrace in the afternoon is too exposed without sufficient protection against the sun. The noise of parties in the countryside until dawn (we didn't come to the mountains to have the noise of the city). We have to leave before the end of the stay These reasons justify a price that should be much less expensive It's a real shame because this place with a little investment would be truly amazing
