Breakfast very good every day. Pool was a welcome relief after a day in the sun. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly. The view from the room was exceptional and the terrace was a good size.

The location could be a challenge at the top of a hill and an hours walk plus to town. Taxis were relatively cheap however. The terraces would all have benefitted from some form of shade. Parasols were available on request and we noticed a number of people had asked for them, however you had to ask and the sun was pretty intense by mid afternoon. Wi fi was down at one point (I rely on it for work so that was a problem) and this was apparently due to a power cut - although emergency generation kept the lights on (!?). Would have expected a TV with the ability to stream Apps.

The hotel had a fantastic location. The view, the location, and the room were all excellent. The staff were the kindest and friendliest people who made sure that my fiancée and I had everything we needed. They made sure both our birthdays were celebrated well. Ask the staff for recommendations on what to do! They have the best suggestions.

The pool was not as private as we had hoped. The door was not completely soundproof — you could hear the fountain outside, but it gets turned off at midnight and back on around 6–7 in the morning. Additionally, you could hear people on the top floor dragging chairs back and forth. When the hotel advertises that you can have breakfast in your room, there should be a larger table on the balcony to fit everything.

This hotel and the staff have my heart. My personal experience from arrival and throughout my stay was exceptional. I was firstly greeted by the beautiful design and architecture of the hotel and once at reception, I was sincerely, warmly welcomed by Kristi (excuse me if I have mis-spelt her name). Kristi gave a very good and everlasting impression representing this lovely hotel and made me feel so welcome when I arrived. She personally showed me my room, which had the best view, and explained all I needed to know for my stay, including how to order the lovely breakfast . As I was solo travelling for the first time on my birthday, my partner had called up and asked for the room to be decorated and they executed a lovely decorated room really well with a heartfelt birthday note and bottle of bubbly. I also asked Kristi for recommendations on places to go for shopping, site seeing and dining. Kristi did not disappoint with the information she shared and also booked me a fabulous restaurant for my birthday dinner. The spa is beautiful and tranquil and I had the best hot stone massage. I was also kindly provided a packed lunch to go when I was going on a beach trip excision and had to leave early, therefore missing beeakfast. Overall, I had THE best time. The bar has been set very high for an adult only hotel that is not only aesthetically pleasing but where the customer service is excellent. I will be returning and have recommended to family and friends.

The only small downside I have was the privacy of the left side of my pool.  It's overlooked due to the location of the room.  If the hotel consider a small privacy screen on that side (which is close to the road) then it would make it perfect.

I loved everything about this hotel. At first sight - we just thought that everything was beautiful and clean. But then we realized that this hotel really cares about their guests and the service is really out of this world. Chris, that was in the reception majority of the time that we stayed there, always aimed for us to have the best time even though it rained while we stayed in the hotel for a majority of our visit. She and her colleagues always greeted us with smiles, giving us tips about where to go and how to get to those places. I know that it doesn’t sound like it’s anything more than ”regular” service, but when you meet people that treat you so good as they treated us in a 5-star hotel (and mind you - that doesn’t happen often since we mainly stay at 5-star hotels) then you appreciate the whole trip in a complete other way. Also, me and my boyfriend have worked within hospitality and service during the majority of our careers and we know that good service takes energy and commitment. If the manager of this hotel sees this review - please tell everybody on your team how great they are! Because we will be back in the fall again (booked another visit day 2 of our stay). And (!) not to forget to mention the spa. I got a treatment from Maria Hanaroli down at the spa and it was amazing! If you stay at the hotel make sure to get a treatment with her to make your trip even more luxurious.

We only stayed here for 2 nights but enjoyed it very much. A super nice hotel with only friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner are both delicious. Options for vegetarians are available. The rain shower in the bathroom is great. From your (small) private pool with a view of the city and the sea you have a beautiful view of the sunset. Also used the spa facial. Maria was very attentive and very good at this. Definitely recommended and in case of a next trip I would definitely book here again. There is little to do in the area but with public transport/taxi you can get far. For our journey back to home they packed a lunchbox for us. Thank you again for that. The bed was very good. Felt rested the day after. From the private pool we had a perfect view on the sunset.

Everything was awesome! What a beautiful clean and spacious hotel, nice and quiet allowing you to unwind into a peaceful and calm environment, from start to the very last moment of checking out. Beautiful modern clean nice interiors, fabulous room, beautiful spa and I managed to get the best massage in my life (and I had a good few ;)) from Maria Manatoli who let me totally forget the world around me and brought me to the Olympus by making me feel like a goddess! Thank you, Maria! And thank you Vaso and all the staff at Lagon Hotel and Spa.

The place was very modern. On arrival at the place, we were greeted by professional and friendly staff. They also talked us through the room facilities and gave us a complimentary sparkling wine. The massage therapist Maria was also amazing in the spa sessions. Extremely professional and we felt so much more relaxed after the therapy session :) 100% recommending their spa facilities. We will definitely book again when we come to Chania again.

A slight miscommunication occurred due to a language barrier, but it did not affect our stay. In fact, the staff was very proactive and efficient in resolving our issue.

From the moment we arrived, this immaculate hotel enveloped us in a serene and peaceful atmosphere, allowing us to unwind completely. The spacious, beautifully appointed rooms featured contemporary interiors and offered breathtaking views. The spa was a sanctuary of relaxation, and I experienced the most rejuvenating massage of my life. The plunge pool provided a refreshing retreat, completing an unforgettable stay. The staff were so welcoming and made a stay very enjoyable!

Nothing, it was perfect!!!

The staff were exceptional in their service and gbr hotel is absolutely beautiful. We loved spending time on our balcony. The breakfast was a real highlight. The spa was also amazing, I got a massage from Maria Manatoli and it was a 10/10 massage.

Maybe to improve they could offer a parasol for the balcony as we got a bit too hot in the middle of the day, but this wasn't an issue, more just an added extra they could offer.

My stay was absolutely amazing! The panoramic view from the room was breathtaking, and the hot breakfast served right to my room every morning was a perfect way to start the day. The service was truly outstanding — every staff member was so kind, welcoming, and always had a smile on their face. They were always ready to help with anything I needed. Room service was also fantastic — I highly recommend trying the chicken tagliatelle, it was delicious! Overall, it’s a solid 10/10 experience, and I honestly can’t wait to come back soon!
