Lovely staff who were outstandingly professional, helpful, hard-working and friendly. A great team! Sparkling clean and very well maintained accommodation. Brilliant mini bus transfers to and from Chania.

Only two things caused us any problems, which hopefully can be resolved. We stayed in a junior suite (103). Firstly, the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor unless you kept hold of the shower head yourself at all times. The problem was caused by there being no seals on the bottom of the doors, together with the holder for the shower head being in a vertical position and only permitting it to point straight at you. Secondly, the sheets sometimes didn't fit the bed properly and caused a poor night's sleep as they rumpled up really badly. Such a shame as the beds were really comfortable otherwise. Fitted sheets, or sheets that were big enough to be tucked well in, would be a great improvement to an otherwise absolutely excellent hotel

Location, views, breakfast, reception staff were brilliant and friendly, pool area was great, shuttle service provided was fantastic.

Noise in the mornings was pretty loud from rooms above. We were on the first floor and I had to wear my earplugs to reduce the noise in the mornings. Sadly we had a poor experience in the restaurant at lunch time one day when the wrong food order was brought to us and the correct order after that was significantly delayed despite being a simple club sandwich order. The most disappointing thing about this was the customer service and attitude from one particular, cold and rude female member of staff

Fantastic hotel, staff all superb, very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Snack menu available during the day & can be ordered via screen on the terrace while sunbathing, along with cocktails, beers & soft drinks. Shuttle service into Chania & back was brilliant. No extra cost. Just put your room number & no. of travellers and thats it booked! The view is to die for from the Hill Restaurant at the top. Word of warning, book your dinner as very busy. Beautiful setting to watch the sunset at the end of the day. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful pool, very good size with area at one end for younger families/children. Not much space round the pool for sunbeds. They are housed under a pagoda at the end of pool. There is also an area among the trees that is set with sunbeds. It got busy & there were definitely not enough beds for all who wanted to sunbathe. That said we were down just before breakfast & put our towels down & went straight out after eating. It did get quieter some days & some folk came out to the pool & to sunbathe at 5pm when it was still very warm.

Nice and quiet where the hotel is. They offer a free taxi service to take you into town and back. Would recommend getting the breakfast included as there’s no where to eat near the hotel. Hotels food and drinks are very good. Staff are super friendly they bought out more deckchairs for us when it got busy by the pool. They also can arrange taxis for you to and from the airport for €26, if you’re coming here I wouldnt rent a car, its very hilly and you dont need one! But for the most part it’s very quiet, clean and looks just as good as the pictures.

Could be a little cleaner by the poolside but I have nothing to complain about!

From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff made us feel truly welcome — friendly, helpful, and just cool. Thanks a million everybody !!! We had a room with a sea view, and it was absolutely worth it. The breakfast spread was generous and delicious, with plenty of choices for every taste. The free shuttle service to and from town — reliable, convenient, and a great way to explore without hassle. Our room had clearly been recently renovated and was finished to a high standard: modern, spacious, and super comfortable. Brilliant big pool, perfect for a long, relaxing swim or a lazy afternoon by the water. We spent most mornings and afternoons by the pool and then went to Chania in the evening.

Stayed in a family suite. Great outdoor space leading directly to the pool area but a bit outdated. The main bedroom should be nearest the outdoor space. We had no window. Felt like we were sleeping in a box All shuttle staff were lovely except the older man. He was very grumpy and shouted at us to be quick as he had to fit in an extra trip. Not our problem

We had a great stay at Royal Sun! The location is very convenient – close enough to Chania but away from the busy streets, which made it peaceful and relaxing. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially the night shift receptionist, who was always welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of options, and the restaurant has an incredible panoramic view over Chania – truly a highlight! The room was comfortable and clean, and one of the best features was the free shuttle service to the city center, which saved us the stress of looking for parking. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Chania.

The only minor downside was that the bathroom in our room was a bit small, and the sink could have been larger but it wasn’t a problem at all and didn’t affect our stay.

Such a lovely quiet hotel with a spectacular view over chania. It really feels like a retreat above the city even though it’s so close and the hotel have a handy shuttle bus that brings and collects all day. We had a suite onto the tranquil pool and garden which was just gorgeous. They are so well kept and maintained and everywhere is spotless . The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more friendly, nothing was too much to ask. The food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent and probably one of the best sunset views in chania! We all absolutely loved this hotel and look forward to coming back.

Excellent stay, breakfast and view from the room and restaurant. The pool is clean & the food is good. The best part is the free shuttle to the city centre which takes 6-8 minutes, make sure to book it in advance especially during peak season. The staff at the hotel is service minded. The room was clean and it was facing the pool and city view.

The culinary experience is just fabulous 4. The pool - lots of sun beds, warm water, great view 5. The balcony on the room (sea view) - lovely 6. Overall attention to detail - we truly appreciate how you take care of the guests 7. The transfer/navette to Chania city center - such a benefit We felt spoiled and relaxed 🤴 ☀️

We loved everything, but just for the sake of being objective: the rooms are not huge, which was not a problem for us, cause it was super comfortable, but maybe it matters to other people.
