Loved being next to the Haruru Falls. Loved the peaceful atmosphere and listening to the birds in the trees, smell of the fresh clean air. Loved the playground area and playroom on-site for the kids to play in. Loved how friendly and accommodating the staff were THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Suggestions: Outdoor light for studio unit A needs replacing, dark and couldn’t see steps to get to my car at night. Possibly more outdoor lighting in darker areas where bumps on the road were. I am a little blind so kept tripping on them from Studio Unit A when walking towards washing area. Possibly have a fence around the playground area to help keep the kids safely contained, but still supervised by an adult at all times. Pot holes filled in as surface was uneven whilst walking around the gravel marked roads - trip hazards. Dryer needing two cycles ($8) to dry medium wash load.

We had a two bedroom cabin that overlooked the stream & was next to the pool. The beds were lovely & comfy & the kitchen had everything we needed. The pool was refreshing & cool in the heat and there were plenty of trees giving shade where needed as well. The cabin was elevated so we could leave our windows open at night to enjoy the cooling breeze & we had a large deck to relax on (& dry our togs!). There was a large & well-equipped playground to keep the kids entertained as well as plenty of open spaces for games & running about. There is so much to do & see in the Bay of Islands and this is a fantastic place to make your base. It is close to everything while rural enough to enjoy quiet times & privacy. Highly recommended!

A small heat pump to cool the rooms would have helped with the heat, though luckily there was a breeze to help cool the bedrooms down at night. A shelf in the shower to place razors & shampoo would be helpful too

Room had all the required necessities. Room location was very good, very close to main gate, and we just parked the car next to the room. Easy to move stuff from car to room and vice versa. And I think, from kitchen perspective, my wife was quite happy, as it had all basic necessities, that required. .

When we turned on TV in the night, thus it didn't work. And no staff was available at that time, so we could ask them, how to run the TV. It was little bit disappointment, because my son wanted to watch cartoon, but TV didn't work, but it was not the end of the world. Bathroom door was quite shaky (could not recall exact word). It was coming out again and again from top. We had to little bit struggle to open and close the door. It would be really good, if toilet/bathroom door could be fixed properly.

The mattresses were hard even though the double be had a topper on it. The cupboard that has all of the plates etc in it did nit have what it was stated on the notice inside the cupboard. The other camper had more plates than stated. Perhaps a check on what's in the cupboards on each changeover would be great. Our cabin had one light not working. Also the other cabins had a big curtain that blocked out half of the cabin light. Ours didn't. It is the cheapest campground around, therefore it was ok

Park grounds are well-maintained; good presentation as we arrived, good grass all over. We arrived after-hours, so they had our key and instructions waiting for us in a lock-box. All as intended. Our room was ready, clean and as advertised. It was warm inside, needed the fan provided. The pool was available and enjoyable for the kids. The playground better than expected; many amenities good for kids. The Lounge was pretty nice (air-hockey game out-of-order), pool table available w/ deposit; good seating; big TV with movies available. Kitchen had a locked cupbd for our reserved dishware and cutlery. Extra utensils provided for general use (not bad, too); wide assortment of pots/pans for use by all. A big chest freezer for general use, too. The BBQ and pizza oven were available; nice to use. Nice picnic seating and outdoor table-tennis. Toilets/showers better than most, pretty well-maintained; many available (appreciated not having to pay extra to use). Office has many incidentals and basic foods for camping. We enjoyed our 2 nights, and would definitely come again.

We had a cabin. Though block walls are good for noise containment, they hold the heat of the day - fan needed longer cord for better placements to cool off room (no through-ventilation). Showers a bit slick (but they said they're working on a solution). Stoves/ovens very old, slow to heat up (but they did eventually work).

Loved the set up of the Yurt, spacious and super comfortable with an awesome deck to chill on. Also loved the fact we had a view of the river and the space between was free from tents to ensure privacy and peace. Bed was incredibly comfortable and we loved the little amenities available in the Yurt.

The Yurt floor was pretty messy with debris and dust bunnies everywhere on arrival. The kitchen set up is segregated between those who camp and those who paid for cabins which was weird. The kitchen for the cabins was small and the ovens didn't work, but they had a great BBQ area.

Love everything thing about the Bay of islands holiday park friendly helpful staff ,the facilities and everything was more than what we expected, kid friendly and just all-round a wonderful place to wind down after a busy year . If your looking for a family friendly environment for your family to holiday Bay of Islands Holiday park is the place to be. We will definitely be back next year ❤️our kids said their highlight was the pool and friendly staff..

Wide room, clean shower

It was an unexpected stay for us so we weren't prepared for the cabin I hastily booked, not to have blankets and towels, anyway when I told the check in person on arrival he very generously upgraded us to our own cabin with our own shower, cooking facilities and blankets and towels. So we were very grateful for that. It was a beautiful peaceful spot with lovely, friendly staff. We would highly recommend for a relaxing holiday and just a stones throw from Paihia.

Best place i have stayed at, staff are friendly and always on the go making sure everything is clean and tidy, anything we needed they were always accommodating to our needs. Love how everything is there onsite from the playground to the pool to the river, two kitchens and ample showers and toilets...love.love love this place and definitely will be back.
