Lovely staff. The breakfast was very good and included fresh local apple juice and delicious pastries. The cheese selection was exceptional - its Switzerland after all. Great location by the lake and with the Luzern guest card you can use the busses for free. It's about 4 stops to the main station and the bus stops almost in front of the hotel. Loved the decor and the concept of the room. Old meets new, I loved the modern touches mixed with the stately luxury of years gone by. Water and chocolates and the cozy robe made the stay extra nice. Not cheap but that's not gonna be different wherever you go in Luzern.

The little shower cubicle inside the room is a good idea but because you only have a curtain to close it, the nice wooden floors and the interior of the room could get quite wet. Maybe the shower could be equipped with an actual door.

This is a truly unique property. It's a historic building with all the quirky details. If you like modern city hotels, this ain't that. The pictures and reviews are exactly as they seem. The staff are warm, friendly, and really make your feel like it's a mix of B&B and hotel. The location is amazing (10min walk from center of action), and makes for a beautiful walk on the lakefront anytime of day/late night. The breakfast buffet was terrific. Recommend you look at the hotel website to view the individual rooms. We loved our balcony suite #24. The balcony views are amazing and overlook a lakefront park.

Very nice staff. The attractive decor was very appealing . There was a toy monkey in the room which was cute and quirky. Pretty location across the road from the lake.

I had one of the rooms which had a shower in the room and toilet down the hall. The toilet was your own and unlocked with your room key. That was fine, just don't forget to take it with you. I did have a little trouble with the shower as I am an older person. I would have liked a grab rail to use when getting in and out. Of course it is hard to retrofit old buildings like this. I only mention it as a guide for people like me.

Easy and close access to the bus stop to/from the train station.. Across from lake front park and walking path. Lovely sitting areas in the front of the hotel and on the front porch. I didn't take part in the breakfast but it did have a nice large dining room and it looked like it was a varied continental breakfast available for a separate charge. I rented a budget room with a single bed. It was small but comfortable with a sink in shower stall a big fluffy robe nice big towels. My private WC was just 10 steps down the hall.

The free coffee and tea station on the second floor ran out of water and the espresso maker didn't always work. There was a commercial espresso machine in the reception area operated by the desk clerk available for a fee. It would have been nice if that would have been included with the room rental.

This was such a beautiful hotel on Lake Lucerne. We loved our stay here: our room was spacious, as was the bathroom which had a beautiful bathtub, and there was a lovely little balcony overlooking the lake. We were a little worried that on the map it seemed like it was a little far away from the centre of the town, but it's a very quick and easy 5 minute bus trip into town, or a nice relaxing walk if the weather's nice. We had some nice drinks at the bar and some delicious cake as well, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The location is amazing in its proximity to the lake: a room with a lake view is absolutely worth spending extra money on!

The lounge in the room wasn't very comfortable! We usually ended up sitting on the bed. They look nice but it's difficult to sit back and relax in them. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee inside the room, as you needed to go into the hall to make a cup of coffee, but it didn't bother us too much and we liked that there was fruit available too.

A bit of a walk to old town, but the park and the tranquility were well worth it. The hotel is a bit funky but charming

We were originally assigned a room with no TV, and a “bathroom “ with the sink in the room itself and the shower and toilet also part of the room itself. When we expressed dissatisfaction we were told there were no other rooms available. After we showed our booking. com r reservation, citing private bathroom and TV, and after calling a gentleman I assume was the manager, a room became available. Not a great start.

The weather was very hot which is not a factor that can be controlled . The shower was small and at floor level without a tub or rim so water got in bathroom . Not a big deal but something to add - not all rooms are like this !

Location - Centrally located and right opposite the lake! The staff were very helpful and supportive (even helped with ordering food via Uber).

While hotels in Switzerland are generally expensive, I felt this place came in a bit more pricey in terms of value for money (Luzern in general seems to be on the expensive side). The rooms are done up well but were comparatively small compared to a few other places we stayed at. The breakfast buffet could have had a few more options for the price.

Exceptional in every way on our 3-night stay! We LOVED the location across the street from the lake and its lakeside gorgeous gardens & promenade. We walked to the hotel from the train station with luggage in 15-20 mins (stopping for many pictures!). We walked to Old Town in 10-15 minutes along the lake. Our room with en suite bathroom was charming, very clean/comfortable, and quiet on the back side of the hotel - it had everything we needed including an outlet adapter (unexpected but appreciated!). The public rooms and patio downstairs were outstanding, comfortable and inviting. We traveled with 2 other couples, so we used those spaces every morning and evening. We would definitely choose this hotel again.

Really, nothing. As Americans, we are used to bigger rooms, but we have traveled in Europe before and know the situation.
