Best location ever. Bang opposite the Lucerne Central Station. Nice big room, clean and well equipped bathroom.

1) Internet connection - everytime you pick up the phone you need to login with a code delivered to phone or email. Once logged in the subsequent logins should be automatic like everywhere else. Also, more than one person could not use the same connection for the room. 2) pls add bathroom slippers for the room

The room we had (Junior Suite) was enormous and very comfortable. The bathroom was large, but needs updating. Our friends next door (also Junior Suite) had a renovated room and the bathroom was beautiful. Loved the breakfast room and breakfast selection. Great location to central landmarks.

One staff (lady) at breakfast was a bit unwelcoming (questioned my room number twice as if we may have sneaked in from the street for a free breakfast?) The wifi needs to be improved, we had problems during our whole stay, and this is questionable in 2023. Access from street - shared with Starbucks..

The Hotel was located at a perfect location, using the underground access you come out at the hotel entrance. The room provided by the front desk was excellent, and the front desk and breakfast staff were awesome and helped us with all our queries. The room was clean and heating provided was adequate and good. I would definetly stay here again in the future, provided the issue mantioned below is taken care of.

The only issue and hence not a perfect 10, was the wi-fi....in the current world we live in, quick and seamless access to wi-fi is mandatory and no longer a luxury. With the weak signal and continuous dropping (needing one to reconnect every 5 mins), I had no other option but to pay for a local SIM card to have access to emails and work related meetings. I request the management to install signal boosters, as this is the only issue which is affecting the rating of this otherwise excellent hotel. Thank you.

Very close to the station which was best for tourists. You can go everywhere so easily. Breakfast was good. And the coffee maker was helpful.

A lovely hotel in a good location.It was comfortable for us to get there in 1 minute from the train station.There is no noise from trains.There is a cafe downstairs and there are many shops nearby, a hairdresser, etc. Everything is new and fresh.The bathtub in the bathroom is low, which is very convenient for people with musculoskeletal problems, and very wide, which is convenient for overweight people.The breakfast restaurant is very comfortable, beautiful and delicious.There is food for everyone, both for children and adults.

1.I was given a room very far from the elevator.It was very difficult to walk with suitcases on a fleecy path and a small child. 2.I called the reception 2 times (I need to monitor the work of the slow reception) and waited 2 hours for the blinds repairman to come.I lost time, which wasn't enough anyway.

Rooms were large, clean and very comfortable. Great air-conditioning which was necessary in the heat of summer. Location of the hotel is good, particularly if you are travelling by train (like us). Easy access to all sites, shops, ferries etc. Amazing rooftop bar - which is a highlight of this hotel.

Although the hotel appears grand, access is via/ besides a starbucks, which definitely lacks appeal.

I would recommend this hotel. We stayed in room 405 for one night on 8 Dec. The purpose of our visit was for sightseeing and to visit the Christmas markets. The location of the hotel is excellent, opposite the train station. We did not have a car, nor did we need one as everywhere is accessible on foot. The room had a good view of the lake and was very quiet. All the staff we came across were extremely polite, helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast served a large variety of hot and cold food.

The decor in the room was a bit drab. A few more TV channels in English would be appreciated as there was only BBC news and some other news channels in English.

The room was very dark, the lighting was too minimal. The bathroom had no fan.

The reception staff, each and everyone of them was absolutely brilliant. They are the ones that make the hotel what it is. It's a big hotel, yet has a boutique hotel warmth to it. The room was lovely and the housekeeping staff did a fantastic job on a daily basis. The bathrooms has two sinks (his and her), which was absolutely great. Plus the bathroom generally was an above average size. Also, we really appreciated that they have a microwave in the common area for guests to use. Breakfast was pretty good. Not very elaborate, but well worth it. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, fresh tea and coffee counter, sausages, fruits and cheese along with great croissants/breads on a daily basis. Oh , back to the rooms, the beds were fantastic and very comfortable. The staff was also courteous enough to lend an umbrella to my brother when he was stepping out at night to go to a nearby bar. Also, location. You can't can for a better location in Lucerne than Monopol. Train station/ bus stand/ the lake.. everything is right outside the hotel.

The only thing I'd change about the room is I'd put the laptop safety locker on a higher level in the cupboard. It's currently placed at the bottom of the cupboard and was a bit difficult for my parents to bend down to access it. Other than that, the elevator is a small one, but really fast, so one never really has to wait for more than a couple of minutes.

We arrived in Luzern by train (and sadly in the rain) but the Hotel Monopol is literally across the road from the station and so reached in a couple of minutes. It is also very close to the bus station and the ferry departure point and so the location is absolutely excellent for getting around. There are lots of restaurants within very easy walking distance. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed, reasonable pillows (Swiss pillows in our experience tend to look good but collapse as soon as you put your head on them), sockets beside the bed, including USB and a very nice bathroom with a really good sized bath and a separate shower. There was a sofa and two chairs in the sitting area. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast buffet was good.

We were initially given the wrong room. We had paid for a suite but were allocated a double room and, when we queried this, the staff did not appear to know what type of room it was. (This may have been because the room is wrongly attributed on their computer.) However, when one of them accompanied us to the room, they very quickly realised the problem and we were immediately given the correct room type. Although the room was very nice, we did not feel that it was as large as we were expecting and felt that it was very expensive for what we got (although to be fair, Switzerland IS very expensive and Luzern is an incredibly popular place for people to visit.)
