Very accessible to everything in the city. Old heritage building and was lovely.small balcony. No small fridge which would have been good. Bed comfortable.smaller room . Breakfast down the road at sister hotel.no air conditioning, had to open door/ windows.

Very small bathroom. Extremely noisy at night in road, had to close windows and definitely more quiet, but then became quite warm in room and only a thick doona . No lights on bedside tables and tables very small. Just enough room to put cases on floor. Little fridge would have been great. No concierge at all, appears all went to sister hotel down the road. Tiny elevator!

Location is superb. Just across the road mext to Luzern Hbf. 1 mjn walk we arrive very early ard 730am n they allow us to quickly store luggage b4 we head out for our day trips. Staff were all very friendly n helpful when we check in at 4pm, we were surprised that they upgrade us to Hotel Monopol, which is their sister hotel. Rm is very comfy, clean n spacious for our family of 4. They next morning when we check out at 730am, again, they gladky store our luggage for us till we back from our day trip around 5pm. Check in n out was a breeze. We enjoy our stay here! Highlt recommended👍🏻

Surprisingly very good functional single room where you feel the extra space. Good night’s sleep. Open concept bathroom with the room but well thought out design wise. All in all very close to train station, eateries and boats, buses a stone’s throw from the lake. I would come again as very convenient.

Summertime. A little warm even with a stand alone ventilator. A small fridge would have been nice. Eating breakfast in another hotel as hotel doesn’t have the facilities.

We booked 4 rooms and requested to be close to each other, they don’t have connecting room but we were all at the other side of rooms together, and there are a lounge area so we can buy some take away food and eat together, location very close to the train so it was so convenient to stay there. 👍🏻

One of the room we stayed can hear loud music from next building. The hotel provided ear plugs but can still hear the music in middle of the night.

Hotel Alpina is a stone's throw away from the Luzern station. With ample restaurants such as McDonald's, Starbucks and pubs adjacent to the hotel, you will hardly walk to look for eating joints. The rooms are spacious, and bunk beds for kids were an instant hit. The unique lift serves the purpose but could hardly fit 4 inside.

No dedicated reception at the hotel. A common reception with Hotel Monopol which is next door.

We were actually 'upgraded' to Monopol, so this review is about Monopol instead of Alpina. Upgrade was a nice gesture as we were informed on day of arrival that Alpina was overbooked. As we booked a family room in Alpina, we were given two connecting rooms at Monopol, which were gladly welcomed by my children. Rooms were abit small though, but since we had two rooms it worked for our family of 4 The rooms we were given appears to have their bathrooms refreshed and newly renovated. There is Starbucks and bakeries within the building. The luzern train station is just 30sec walk away. Places of interest are all within walkable distance from the hotel. Free apples to keep the doctor away too!

Nice, big, modern, spacious room. The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed but the shower cabin on the small side. Everything spotlessly clean. Very close to the train station. My room was on the street side and I could hear some of the nightlife noise but the double glazing windows did a good job of keeping most of it from disturbing my sleep.

Steps away from the Luzern bahnhof and a variety of restaurants in the vicinity. Minutes away from the Old Town and sights and numerous other attractions the city has to offer. Staff was friendly and was prompt in providing another fan when the one in our room stopped working. Facility was clean and appears in the process of being updated floor by floor. For American visitors who are not familiar with "old time" elevators, the lift IS SMALL and it does not open automatically - pull the door handle and then turn to your right and push the door when you reach your floor or you'll think you're stuck. Was a great place to stay.

They are in the process soon as I have been told of installing A/C units in the rooms. While I cannot fault the hotel or staff for the hot weather we experienced, our only way of cooling relief was to run both fans and keep the balcony door open as well as the window. Overall it was not a terrible experience to be without an A/C, but if you have to have an A/C just note that this property has not installed them yet. The hospitality for this property however was great.

Suited me as a solo traveler. My room was suitable for me . The location close to the train station suited me.

Had to go to the Monopol hotel for breakfast which meant going out of the hotel and a short walk to other hotel. Also checking in was at the other Hotel as well and quite a wait.

The room was very nice and spacious with fresh fruits and Nespresso Coffee. The location couldn't be better.

The Check-in availability is very late. We arrived around noon and had to get changed in order to attend a wedding. I understand that the room wasn't available yet but we were not even offered a place to quickly change our clothes. We asked if we could use a dirty room for just a few minutes but it was denied. Finally we had to change in a very tiny public bathroom in the hallway. This could have been resolved differently.
