The hotel's location is great, central to many Stockholm attractions. The rooms have an old style charm. The breakfast spread is decent. We had a small mini-fridge, a decent wardrobe to hang clothes, a hair dryer and an iron in our room. (I'm not sure if all rooms have a mini-fridge though). We found the beds and pillows comfortable. The breakfast employee is really friendly and helpful! Our room had no airco but we had a fan in the room that helped a bit in the hot summer days we had in Stockholm. There is 24 hour reception, so that's nice. And there is an ice machine on the ground floor.

The TV in the room was mounted on the wall facing the wall on the other side (and the bathroom door) and could not be turned in the direction of the bed or the sofa in the room. Not having an airco might be problematic for some. There was a sticky spill on the elevator floor which the staff didn't notice the whole day until I informed them, seems a bit strange no staff would notice that.

The location was excellent and the people working there were very nice. The breakfast was also very good.

The hotel felt more like a hostel than a 4 star hotel. They change towels daily if you leave them on the floor but provide no housekeeping unless requested the day before. The room furnishing were shabby and there was no artwork, just a poster to urge you not to waste food by buying breakfast leftovers. We were there for 5 days and the elevator broke on day three and was still not working when we left. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends.

The staff were very helpful, the room was great, the breakfast was truly fantastic, so much choice and such great quality. I don't think I've ever had such an excellent breakfast anywhere. The hotel location is also great, very central and easy.

The hotel is not accessible. There are steps up to the entrance and no alternative way of getting in and out. The staff were great and gave me a room where those were the only stairs, but most rooms are accessed by elevator which is up more stairs. So not a good choice for the mobility impaired but good for people who can climb stairs and the breakfast was unbeatable.

The staff was amazing. Everyone from the front desk, the cleaning crew, the breakfast attendant were super friendly and helpful. The location is awesome! It’s close to the subway station and the lake and sea. Be sure to leave via the lake exit when you exit the subway station. It’s breath taking. The hotel is also close to the edge of the island which makes Ubers super convenient. There are safes you can use, a small sitting area by the lobby and a terrace! Oh! Also each room has a fridge!!

The hotel had a lovely northern charm, the room was small but very nice, the beds were comfortable and it was very clean. The location right in the old town was brilliant and it was really quiet, even though it was only 2 minuted from Gamla Stan Station. Breakfast was very good with everything you could wish for and a great options for vegetarians, vegans and people with allergens, with a separate fridge with bread, dairy alternatives and even a separate toaster for gluten intolrant guests. Oscar the breakfast chef was super friendly and even provided gluten free pancakes. It put us in a good mood to see such a friendly face in the morning.

Excellent hotel at that price in the midst of top location Gamla Stan. Breakfast Scandinavian excellent, with one niggle (see below).

Really nothing, except for the breakfast coffee. In my case cappuccino, coming from one of those dreaded automatic machines ... that NOWHERE on the planet give you even halfway decent cappuccino. Same here. I adore those hotels that have a real espresso machine with milk steamer, handled by the staff of course - whether I have to pay extra for it, or not, I don't care: just give me some decent coffee at brekky please!

The breakfast was excellent with a variety of hot and cold dishes. I requested porridge a couple of times, which the chef happily prepared for me. The breakfast room was cosy, comfortable and clean.My room was tastefully decorated, the bed comfortable although it was a tight squeeze getting to the other side. Could be more difficult if there are 2 people. The location of the hotel couldn't be in a more convenient place but in a quiet street away from big foot traffic and various noise. Reception was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay at the Gamla Stan and I recommend it highly.

Guests should be aware that taxis can only park near the hotel at certain times of the day. You need to factor this in to your plans because you might be required to drag your suitcases along the cobblestone streets to meet the taxi next to the train station. In my situation, the taxi didn't arrive at the entrance to the station, which was my understanding, so after waiting for some time in the windy conditions, I dragged my suitcases back to the hotel to report this, then back again to the station for the taxi. All annoying and difficult for an older woman. This situation can be avoided if you leave within the prescribed time the taxis have to enter the street or catch the train.

Great location on Gamla Stan, close to shops and restaurants. Everything within a walking distance. Old house charm, big room and bathroom, quiet overall. Food choices for breakfast were good - although the room was small and we had to choose the time for breakfast, it seemed that other people kept to their chosen time and there were no queues.

I would sugest a small shelf in the shower, where you could store your own beauty products, when you don’t want the general stuff provided by the hotel.

The breakfast was very good and the staff were really friendly and helpful. My room was clean and the bed comfy, whilst the bathroom had good fixtures and nice towels.

I found my room a little dark, there wasn’t quite enough lighting and the main fixture had a dimmer switch which flickered sometimes. The breakfast room felt a bit small so at busy points for breakfast it was cramped.

Fantastic location at the bottom end of the old town. On the doorstep of all the sights you want to see as a visitor and all the bars and restaurants, ferries etc. Clean, tidy and well equipped room. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Awesome rooftop terrace accessed by a lift which should be a tourist attraction in its own right! Brilliant and very extensive breakfast. Really enjoyed my stay and I would happily stay there again.

It would be great if it had its own bar on the roof terrace. No A/C and the room was a bit hot but the fan made it ok. But these really are minor quibbles. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hopefully I will return in the future for a longer visit
