I looked for an inexpensive place one night stay for a wedding that we attended. The Kingsail "Resort" is listed as a resort but I would probably not consider it a resort. The Kingsail has typical Key style accommodations. The front staff was super nice and very accommodating; could've left our bags with the front desk, but chose to leave it in the car. We couldn't get checked in early since there was a marathon but she did call me as soon as our room was available. We received a free upgrade from a regular room into a suite which was a nice perk. The room itself was clean.... a bit of a weird setup with the kitchen and just a couch and a little table in the front part of the room with two queen beds in the room behind it. It looks like a very small apartment. The bathroom was small but the shower itself was very big it took up half the bathroom. Do not expect to Hilton and you will not be disappointed I was very happy with the room. We live in Florida and are very familiar with traditional Keys accommodations. Be forewarned - crowing roosters are wandering the property....if you're not used to that, the crowing could be a little annoying for some; I thought it was a nice touch. They will walk up to you as though they're looking for food but they are not aggressive.

The front desk upgraded our room to a suite and was super friendly

Beautiful setting on the water. Quiet outdoor space. Clean pool. Kayaks to enjoy at no charge. Our room was perfect. Fresh. Clean. Bed was super comfy with lots of pillows. Little tables, cubbies, drawers and shelves to put things was super helpful. Couch was very comfy. TV in both rooms. A large shower with plenty of hot water was a plus. It was our first time and we'll definitely be back. Lots of value for your $.

We love our coffee. We found the complimentary coffee offered in the room and on the deck outside in the morning was too weak so we bought our own

Such a tranquil location, the air conditioning was powerful, the bed was so comfy. Affordable and to be right next to the sea and around animals such as lizards and roosters. The swimming pool and the coffee shack was a delightful touch.

Washing machine didn't wash the clothes, it was a small load but all the suds were found stuck on the clothes, had to take them elsewhere. I noticed during the flood warning that when taking a shower a large puddle of water was found in the lounge which was rather confusing because the gap between the puddle and the shower was about 3-4 metres and dry. It could benefit a touch up

Being able to relax poolside or along the inlet seemed extra nice to me. The coffee kiosk on the dock was a plus in the morning when reflections were perfect and the world was still. There were kayaks to use and places to sit along the dock. Our room (#5) had a lovely screened porch. The roosters perched for the night in a tree near us but the crowing seemed more homey than annoying. Was VERY impressed with a full kitchen and home-size refer. You could actually turn around freely in the bathroom, and there was room at the closet to dress or change. Hostess was helpful but busy - after the check-in duties were complete she spent at least 15 minutes with me answering questions about local sights, best beaches, good restaurants.

Having to leave so soon.

Love the convenience of having a boat ramp somewhere to dock your boat and park your trailer. My wife loved the scented soap the size of the shower especially with little ones.

It would be nice if they invested on fixing the boat dock they look a little unsafe. Also would be nice if they cleaned the boat ramp had to put my tuck in 4x4 to be able to get it in and out without slipping and it still wanted to roll back. I would definitely recommend putting a bit more effort into cleaning like dusting the fan and wood trims, really mopping the floors, maybe over look the utensils cleanliness.

Coffee provided from 8-11AM outside nice. View of cove & watching airplanes cool. Not used pool, but nice too. Daily Rooster “alarm clock”was amusing! Location across from Wooden Spoon was perfect!👌

Our room’s bathroom had no fan for ventilation & side window could not open to help out. Also no towel racks to hang wet towels— wash cloths, hand & bath towels. Having no elevator to help get to room on second floor was rough, but gave some exercise I suppose.. whew. 😰 Would have been sweet to have Tea bags available alongside the coffee in the rooms. “Wee” metal kitchen table & chairs bit uncomfortable. Slight modifications possible with above—- elevator major though.

Property is in a great location. It’s pretty comfortable with all the chairs and tables. I like that they let you take advantage of the pool.

We went for 4th of July, didn’t know we couldn’t do small fire works that we go from Winn Dixie. We got to do one and the employee came out yelling at us. Repeated no bueno, the popo comes…. A few times although my husband informed her that we spoke English and understood what she was saying. Very rude. Very disappointing. Could have just informed us that it was not allowed and that’s it, no need for the repeated yelling or threatening us with the cops 🙄

we took the free of charge canoe at the pier and we saw a manatee! it was great! but be careful, the canoes are quite unstable, it was risky and wet experience, but totally worth it! Free coffee with milk from coffee kiosk in the mornings on the pier. Laundry available for hotel visitors, small additional price. The lady at the reception was nice and helpful. There was party in the room next to ours, but it ended before 10 pm and no problem. We really enjoyed. Yes, planes are cruising quite low, but the airport is just next to the property, and there are only small planes.

Compared to other marathon area motels , this one is better than most... It's old but it's waterfront is real. The boat ramp is a difficult backup but is available. Having no breakfast is a bummer but free coffee at the dock is fine. Everything in area is way too expensive for the services provided though... Marathon does not compare to islamorada... If you need a place to stay in Marathon, this is the place.

Age, price, and availability of off site tourist services off property of motel.

The dock and lanai were great. So is the location. Room was spacious and well stocked. Very clean. Good value for the Keys. We were worried about the beds as this is always an issue for us. The one looked awful and made lots of noise but we both slept great. The foot being slightly elevated on that bed was actually what my husband needed. We like to get 2 doubles instead of a king in case the beds are not great. They tend to do better with just 1 person. We do this everywhere not just here. It worked well though.

Door to lanai kept slamming. Tv didn’t work very well. Couldn’t get the cable to work and it was next to the window so it wasn’t in the best shape. Weren’t there for tv though so we didn’t mind too much. Squeaky bed for sure. Take a white noise machine. It comes in handy with the roosters, which actually were not that bad this time. Our first stay we were up very early! Wish there was a hot tub.
