Had a bed and breakfast rate. Full breakfast individually prepared in an allocated dining room. Jules and her team all very friendly. We are in the hotel for three consecutive nights. It does not pretend to be fine dining but it does deliver excellent hearty freshly cooked meals. Steak and ale pie a stand out. We wanted something simple on the last night and pizzas really hit the mark. As an adjunct to the hotel is the Lagg Bar. Great place to meet Arronites and recent arrivals, share life stories and just chill in a special part of Scotland. Our next hotel on the mainland is much more formal and we are harking back to the great time we had over three nights in Arran.

Our one night stay was amazing. The service from the staff was excellent, they were warm and friendly with nothing a bother. The family room we had was large and spacious with a large bathroom en suite. The bed was comfy and bedding nice and cosy. The best bit about the stay was the food. Our evening meal was tasty and delivered with the same exceptional service, but the Breakfast was just yum!! What a great place to stay!

Very few things to bring up, but like most places the rooms are a bit dated. This didn't effect our stay.

When we arrived we were upgraded to the Campbell suite because they had had a leak in the room we booked. The room was very large with lovely doors leading onto a seating area over looking a lovely garden, a very peaceful setting. The bed was very comfortable. Cooked breakfast was great. All the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

Would have been nice to have a selection of fruit and yoghurt at breakfast.

Breakfast was part of the booking and enjoyable. We had our evening meals there. Good tasty food with variety to choose from. We took our two little dogs and they had been allowed in the bar next door to drink with the love.y locals and eat with us for dinnner. The room was so beautiful, we walked in and couldn’t believe how beautiful it was, the French doors opened out to a beautiful garden making taking dogs out to bathroom so easy. One super star attendant there, Liam! Liam you are a star. He was super friendly and welcoming. Thank you Liam.

They needed more Liam’s. Seemed a bit under staffed

Great place to stay. Room was great, clean, and bed very comfortable. Had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. The home made pizza dough was very good. Can also recommend the steak pie. The bread roll with the soup was also really tasty. Found out that it was also freshly made by the chef. The breakfast was also very good, freshly made to order. An added bonus was that the Lagg distillery was just a 15 minute walk up the road.

Jules & Lee and all the staff were very welcoming, any request we had was met with ease & pleasure and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts and dinners were tasty and plentiful, and our room was comfortable. The Lagg is dog-friendly too which was great and we especially loved the 'kids' room' downstairs & lounge area for chilling out and playing games. The surroundings & gardens are beautiful and lush, even in March! Never seen to many bumble bees at this time of year before :)

Only a couple of small things: the bathroom was a little cold and after anyone had a shower, i.e. there was condensation, there was a bit of a damp smell (we weren't able to open the window). At breakfast it would've been nice to have some fresh fruit and maybe ham/cheeses as well.

Lovely big garden suite. Can’t fault breakfast, food very tasty and nice and hot. Nice Arran Aromatic toiletries in room.

After breakfast on Saturday left hotel and returned late afternoon. Staff had been in room and replenished biscuits. Very disappointed that bed was unmade, wet towels remained on shower floor, bins not emptied, no fresh towels left. Had to go to reception and ask for fresh towels and decaf teabags, which were shortly brought to room, no decaf teabags sachets of decaf coffee instead. There was a Do Not Disturb card on door handle and on the other side it said to make up room which I didn’t notice and hadn’t been informed that I had to put this sign on my door handle, I feel the room should have been automatically cleaned as it cost £242 per night!!

The Lagg is an absolutely beautiful place to stay in a peaceful and stunning location. The rooms were spacious and spotless and the beds incredibly comfortable. What made it such a great stay was how warm and friendly the staff were - we cannot thank them enough. We would absolutely love to stay here again someday and would recommend it to anyone!

Nothing - we absolutely loved it!

The location of the hotel was perfect for my purposes, a leisurely cycle tour around Arran, but the setting of the inn is lovely, it feels secluded, with a river running close by, a lush garden to while the time away. My single room was small but the bathroom had a bathtub which was very welcome and everything was spotlessly clean. I enjoyed a few pints from the public bar in the sunshine outside and I had an excellent burger from the restaurant for dinner. All in all, this was a very pleasant stay!

We LOVED our stay here. The decor in the room is beautiful and has all modern amenities you would need. Opening the French doors to the sound if the stream several feet from the room and sitting in the peacefulness of the garden. The evening meal was excellent. We also enjoyed soup and sausage rolls in the afternoon as our meal was booked for later. A walk on the trail to the beach was so beautiful. The scenery was breathtaking. This hotel is under new management and so the reviews from 2023 are accurate. It is a marvelous hotel and we would definitely revisit. The owners are so friendly and helpful and this hotel is obviously something they're passionate about. P.s. the bed and bedding ha e to be the best we've ever experienced in hotels and B&B 🙂
