Loved the location, the staff were amazing and the best room we've stayed in this year. We arrive late, but when I called to check the time the restaurant closed, the lovely helpful girl on reception said if I called back at 845, with a progress report, she would be able to take out food order. I did this and on arrival told to go and freshen up and come down and our meal would be ready. The food and service was fantastic, as was the glass of beer and wine. Had a great night's sleep, the shower was great, had a good hearty breakfast and were ready for. Days work Thank you to the staff who looked after us.

Great location, beautiful views. Clean hotel. Large comfortable rooms. Spa bath great and spotless. Dinner was lovely and breakfast was good when eventually received.

Breakfast service- waited over 15 minutes and had to ask to order breakfast and coffee. Then the waiter gave our breakfast’s to another table, he went and apologised to them for giving them wrong breakfast but never approached us. After 45 minutes we had to ask what was happening with our breakfast’s to be told kitchen said we had them as waiter hadn’t told them he’d given breakfast to wrong table. When they arrived one wasn’t exactly what had been ordered but we had to take them as was nearly time for checking out and we had to be somewhere so couldn’t wait any longer.

The hotel is very welcoming. The girl who checked us in was so chatty and informative. The room was spacious, and we had a beautiful seaview with a juliette balcony where we could sit with the doors open and it was like we were sitting outside; listening to the waves and watching some wildlife.... There were lovely sitting areas, indoors and outdoors, (not a seaview) that were well presented, but we didn't need to use as our room was spacious and with a beautiful view 😍 The food in the restaurant at night was absolutely 💯 and the restaurant is well worth a visit even if not staying at the hotel. The young staff on duty that evening were friendly and very attentive which was lovely. We loved the nautical theme throughout the whole hotel, very fitting for the venue.

The reason I gave 9/10 was that, although they were nice, the breakfast staff were not as friendly and welcoming as the young team the previous night.

Friendly staff, the hospitality staff were very friendly, happy to have a little chat, and encouraged us to try Haggis and Scottish beer. They do seem to work long hours but always a smile on their face. The room was lovely and clean. Emailed us in advance to advise of a wedding at the hotel, disabled friendly, great location to explore

Nothing, some building work going on as the hotel is building a spa but didn't bother us, builders were discreet and not too much noise. Maybe sandwiches are available of an evening rather than a full meal.

The room was bigger than I expected for a classic double with partial sea view. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. The location is just beautiful with direct access to the beach. The food was delicious & the hotel itself is very beautifully furnished in great taste. The overall vibe is very pleasant and chilled.

The bed could have been more comfortable. The mattress wasn't great but I still slept OK. The bins being emptied at 630 and then workmen working just outside my window at 8am wasnt ideal. I'd prefer to know in advance if there is building work being done. This wouldn't be good if I wanted a longer sleep which I normally do on holiday

Dog friendly room was on the main road side of the hotel rather than the viewing towards Arran but it didn’t bother me but it may trouble others . Room was lovely and the breakfast was great but of course I had to eat in the bar( dog friendly area) for obvious reasons . Having said that the staff were excellent bringing over my morning juice , food and water for my doggie etc .It was also handy to nip through the gated garden area straight onto the beach.

We loved everything about our stay. The room was super spacious clean and had a fantastic view over the beach which my son loved. The staff every single one of them was really friendly. We had breakfast 2 mornings and an evening meal and was seriously blown away by how good it was especially the seafood chowder it was delicious. We would absolutely return, we actually stayed in the seamill hydro 1 night before our 2 night stay here so if you're debating over which one to stay at let me make it easy for you and pick this one you won't be disappointed!

There was a function on and we could hear the music a bit however we were messaged in advance of this which we really liked and the receptionist told us she tried to give us a room furthest away as we had a child. It finished about 11.30pm so not overly bad.

We had a bedroom facing the road and even late at night and early in the morning, there was a lot of road noise, but conversely there isn’t a lot to do in the area either, especially if you don’t want to drive everywhere. The restaurant serves a lovely food and there is plenty of choice on the menu but a two course meal with drinks for a couple can cost easily almost £100 which seems expensive for what is a relaxed, mid-market, pub food eatery. You need to have your car with you to make this location workable. We used the train to travel from Glasgow and found that once we arrived at West Kilbride station, there were no taxis and again, none to take us back at the end of the trip. This meant two 50 minute walks with luggage on routes that are not fully pedestrianised.

Been past the hotel many times before but decided to go for an overnight stay ! Found the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is lovely inside and we stayed in a deluxe room with sea view which was large and spotlessly clean. Stayed also with our small dog which was made most welcome by all the staff, giving her numerous treats and also gave her a doggie breakfast ! We dined in the restaurant which also had a seperate area for dogs and the food was lovely. Plenty of walks to the rear of the hotel onto the beach directly from the hotel gardens. Loved it and we will definitely return for another visit !

Afternoon tea was poor 😞 Scones were dry and hard (the team did replace with cakes from the counter but no money off - if you are charging £35 for an afternoon tea then it should be better quality than that) Breakfast staff could have been a bit more welcoming and smiley (we were there 3 nights and it was the same each day, but everyone has their off days!)
