We were allocated the lodge on the end of a row of four so it was very quiet and handy to sit out on the picnic table. The room was large and very clean. It was lovely to have a spa bath and the towels were nice and fluffy. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, making us very welcome and suggesting trails to walk along. The lodge is set in the National Park with such pretty views and plenty of places to walk. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food was wonderful. Would highly recommend the restaurant as well as the lodge.

This was not a negative point for us but the lodge is a good 15 mins drive away from the main road so plan trip carefully or just stay put and enjoy the tasty food, delicious coffee and over generous desserts.

Everything really. We went for the first time last year and decided to do it annually. I couldn't stop talking about it to my friends and three other couples tagged along this time. They were all blown away. Every single staff member was friendly, accommodating and nothing you asked was a problem. From the moment you step inside your room, the beautiful smell and warm feeling was like a warm hug! The food was top notch and the presentation was second to none. I felt like I was on an episode of MKR.

Location for Mount Tatanaki brilliant. Really huge and comfortable bed, spa bath a nice touch. Access to walks up and around the mountain absolutely superb. Breakfast options were really good value. Staff very friendly.

Bit pushy to get you to book meals. Worst thing was they closed at 9pm which wasn't obvious and they could be quite assertive about ushering you out. Which means you are back in your cabin with no option for a drink.

This is the place if someone is looking for tranquillity, picturesque and a friendly atmosphere. The main strength of this place is the people and staff. They are genuine, professional and hardworking. Very creative and almost 'Artistic'. I will, without any hesitation, highly recommend this place. This is the place to stay if you are looking for genuine staff.

More variable menu Outside light at unit 10 not working No comfortable chairs, toaster or tea towel No plates or cutlery Overpriced for what was available. 9am opening too late to pay bill or return key. We had to wait to pay before we could leave for our next destination.

The onsite restaurant was fabulous and the staff there were extremely kind. The convenience of parking outside was great for unloading/loading the car (in the rain). The rooms had big windows and comfortable beds.

The carpet in our room was a bit stained but our friend’s room was fine. The bathroom didn’t have hooks or a good flat surface to hold toiletries.

When arriving room windows were opened so it was very cold, suggested to heat up the room when arriving. Clothes dryer in the room would have been better as we stayed two nights but they've given us new towels. Room heater works very slow so it takes longer to warm up the room

Stunning location and staff. Incredible food in the restaurant. A special shout out to Joanna, the youngest member of the team, the lady with dark hair tied back, and of course Peter & Ali. A truly wonderful stay in this special place.

Only maybe the latest to book dinner was 7pm. Breakfast isn’t available until 9am.

We had an excellent meal for 2, of rack of lamb and our request for it to be cooked to a specific doneness, was met and we gave our compliments to the chef. The wine recommendation was excellent. An oasis of comfort and lovely food up a mountain!

Disappointed that the views of Mount Taranaki were limited to the outside when facing the motel and in the back terrace area. The greenery surrounding the other areas of the motel obscured any other views.

Location was perfect on our mounga. Beautiful in the alpine environment, great customer service, beautiful kai/food reasonably priced, just great! Back again next week!

Only recommendations would be to have better ventilation in bathroom & the heater turned on before arrival. Otherwise a great stay 😊
