Excellent location with units hidden from traffic noise behind a small hill. Very peaceful with nice views of river and bush. Not your usual main road motel. The river is a background white noise generator - very relaxing. Excellent restaurant if eating in.

If approaching from the south, continue another 200 metres to the turn-around and come back from the north as the entrance is on a fast section of highway. Check Google Maps and plan your approach. In cold and damp conditions (we were unlucky with the weather, but it did not spoil our stay) the room would benefit from a bathroom extractor fan to reduce condensation.

Stunning view & location. Just beautiful! Our room was perfect to entertain our group gathered at the venue. Bed Linen & towels were ok, fresh & replaced each day. Nice & warm, good kitchen facilities. The gardens are truely amazing.

Not overly clean, stained carpet throughout. The duvet & matching pillow covers were stained, as were the drapes in the bedroom and a window in the bedroom was broken. Overall our stay was very cool, but the property needs some TLC & attention to the aesthetics. If the rooms had the same attention as the gardens, then this would be top notch accomodation. Slightly over priced restaurant, meals very nice flavours, although the wait service was good.

Loved the location, long driveway, ample parking, and of course walking distance to a lovely, inviting, warm restaurant The river was a breathtaking view, and It was peaceful. We had a simple, easy check-in, which was great! The room/unit was big and spacious and seemed clean to the eye, and the spa bath was bliss. They had this cool bath bag to add to water while was filling, which we loved! Tv worked well, we streamed the All Blacks 2nd game, and air conditioning worked well and was a blessing on the rainy, cold night we arrived. Jug, fridge, and other facilities in the room were absolutely up to par.

I Didn't enioy the "double" ( 2 single mattress together) bed, fell into the middle gap most of the night, so wasn't all that comfortable, and pillows were a little less to be desired. Spa & Bathroom: The Downside was the tap had seen better days,( starting to come unstuck from the wall) and the bathroom windows could have had a better clean (quite a bit of black/green build-up).

Just right for three days of exploring the region, while we were based in this surprisingly comfortable establishment. The accommodation is a part of a large complex that serves as a convention or conference center, in a country setting. It was very quiet. We had a lovely view across a meadow with cows, from huge windows and a balcony. The spacious room is well appointed, not in a luxurious but in a comfortable way, with a kitchen that served us well since we like to shop at the store and prepare our own. The location is at a ten-minute drive from “downtown” (such as it is…}. There is a restaurant on the premises, we did not visit it.

Lovely view, nice grounds to walk around. It was very private. Location was close to town and relatives. Good shower. plenty of hot water, heat pump kept the room warm. Really nice restaurant, coffees were fantastic. Food was very nice too.

You could hear noise from the other rooms, each morning there was a huge amount of condensation on the glass, double glazing would have fixed both of these. Position of the tv meant you had to sit on the bed, Would have been nice to sit on chairs - especially as we watched a whole series on amazon prime.

This property is high end with everything you need for a luxurious stay. We would highly recommend this property nestled on a hill overlooking a beautiful river yet just 5 minutes from New Plymouth. The property has a wonderful restaurant on site which is open for breakfast and dinner. The manager was wonderful and friendly offering insights into the surrounding activities. Thank you so much. John and Mahnaz

All good.

Very friendly check-in. Owner was on site and helpful. Wonderful location even if a bit hard to find. Close to a beautiful walking/hiking trail. This would be a great base to use while visiting the many close-by outdoor places. Especially if there were a group to help spread the costs.

For someone not familiar with the local geography, it is a little difficult to locate. The actual buildings are quite far off the road, and once on the grounds it isn't clear which is the office. Those things are NOT enough for me to make a negative review. Overall I was very happy with the place.

Beautiful spot, loved the river view. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful.

It could have been (very slightly!) cleaner in terms of attention to detail with dusting - had a couple of spider webs on our stairs and the curtains were a little stained, but it didn’t take away from our stay. We loved it and will definitely stay again.

Great location, beautiful views and so quiet. We were looking for a peaceful spot to stay with our toddler over the weekend when visiting for the tattoo festival and are glad we picked this place. Easy check-in, clean and tidy studio apartment. Much bigger room, bathroom, bed and kitchen than anticipated. It met our every need with our toddler. The views are unbeatable, rolling hills, lush native forest and the river. We hardly saw or heard anybody else during our stay. The hotel is a quick 5 minute drive into the city which was easy as and we had a view of the mountain every time we came of left the property which was fantastic. Would recommend to families or anybody travelling through looking for a quiet, serene place to relax and unwind.
