We are returning guests as we love it so much at the Caley with it being a perfectly located, majestic building that is just so convenient for everything. The spa is lovely and the staff are always absolutely delightful.

We came for Christmas week and on arrival our room was not particularly clean (the bed linen was fine, it was the rest of the room, carpet and bathroom cleanliness that was seriously lacking). I let reception know on the first day and it was still not rectified by the fourth day. There are a few other issues that I will be picking up with the hotel directly.

I took my family to this marvelous hotel for three nights, and everything about it exceeded my expectations. The rooms were beautiful and impeccably clean, but what truly stood out was the warmth and professionalism of the entire teamfrom the concierge and receptionists to housekeeping. One evening, my son fell ill, and the kindness shown by the hotel staff moved me deeply. A receptionist (whose name I, unfortunately, can’t recall) arranged transportation for us to the hospital and even more incredibly, the hotel covered the cost. She checked on us the next day with genuine care and concern. That level of empathy and service is something I will never forget. This experience left a lasting impression on our family, and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for making our stay not only comfortable but truly meaningful.

Waldorf Edinburgh is for when you want to have that historic, grandiose experience and ambience, with the conveniece of being just within a good stone-throw disance from the Edinburgh Castle. I love that hint of smell of aged wood and old luxury, while at the same time the premises being pefectly up-kept and contemproary, clean and othwerise suited for the modern comfort. The staff was, as expected, very professional, welcoming, kind and helpful. The breakfast was in a lovely and luxurious setting, delicious, and serviced. The coctails served to us by Melony at the bar were a delicious, mind-blowing experience (don't miss it!). The Spa area with the rather big swimming pool, a steamroom and a sauna was also rather big, pleasant, and not busy at all - just as I like it. All in all, we loved it.

Couldn't figure out how to turn the temperature up 1-2 grades, the system there was smarter than me. It was set at 21C, which is comfortable for the most (at least men), but I'm a freezer. Obviously, this wasn't important enough for me to bother the staff.

This is our 3rd stay at the Caley for our wedding anniversary and the hotel is by far the best in Edinburgh. From the minute you are greeted at the door until you leave the quality of service is without a doubt a five star experience. My wife spend a few hours in the spa for treatments and once again the staff were excellent! When I emailed to book the staff remembered our wedding anniversary from the previous year. I book the spa every year as I know my wife will get the best of service plus a few glasses of Prosecco haha. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. Of course they are not cheap but I don’t mind paying for a hotel that I know delivers 5 star standards. Now that the hotel has changed owners I really hope it can keep its identity and continue to be our favourite hotel in Edinburgh.

I am being very picky as we had a great stay but when we got back from our night out we spoke to reception and asked if we could have some champagne and beer for the room. The reception said of course they will be with you in 20 mins. Unfortunately it took nearly 2 hours and by that time they arrived we sent it back as we were going to bed.

This hotel is located near all the attractions and places to visit in Edinburgh. It has a staff of employees who are welcoming, friendly, helpful and communicative in every way. The hotel is classic, elegant, with comfy rooms and beds that offer everything you need as a guest. Taxis are very easy to get, moving around the city is easy as well, and there are many restaurants, pubs, shopettes, shopping malls, all within reasonable reach. I really liked the Caledonian!

Every aspect of this hotel was fantastic. Its location, its decor, and its staff were more than wonderful. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

I have wanted to stay at this hotel for a while so decided to treat myself. It was lovely, but wasn't amazing. Stunning building with very helpful staff. Room was very nice and bed was comfy. Breakfast was great. Very high quality and set me up for the day.

While the room was pretty, the view was on to a internal A/C system. So we just kept the curtains shut. Could not get the room to heat up. Our fault for not calling reception TBH- we just got on with it. The Spa facilities were more like a leisure centre with kids screaming and shouting,. The Sauna/ Steam Room were tiny

Staff helpful and very friendly. Room was spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed. Although you can be next to a busy road the traffic noise (from the 4th floor) was not a problem. Really like the how the hotel has developed the space between the two old buildings and created a lovely bright lounging area.

The hotel says that there is some development going on but there was no way you could tell. The only inconvenience that we came across was that currently there is no direct access to the spa from the hotel, you have to go outside and use a different door but it's only a two minute walk.

Lovely old hotel, immaculate room that contained everything you'd expect for a Hotel of this class. Hallways, stairs and lifts very clean and grand. This was a surprise overnight for my partner whose birthday weekend we were celebrating and as she explained this to the receptionist we were given a complimentary room upgrade and after dinner a lovely Happy Birthday dessert - which was extremely gracious of them. Very attentive staff and for a cut price January deal, was excellent for the money. Newly decorated dining court is very nice for an evening meal.

Would have preferred a stocked in room mini-bar but packages were available to request, so not a major issue at all.

Such a beautiful property. My partner and I met here 8 years ago and we’re coming to stay for the first time for his birthday. Before arriving staff had very kindly upgraded our room and gave us one with a castle view too. I had organised before hand to have balloons in the room and they had made sure that everything was ready before we checked in. The room was very comfortable. We both had a great nights sleep. The room came with a bath and a shower and both were very nice. We will definitely be coming back to stay again.

The smell outside the property wasn’t very pleasant
