Beautiful and spacious. Great restaurant and bar. Very central in the heart of New Town.

Shower was an old fashioned step-in bath with a shower head vs what you’d expect nowadays. Not that easy or safe for us older guests to climb in and out. There was no flexibility for early check in (before 3pm) or check out (after 11am). For late check out they could do it but for a £20 surcharge per hour for up to 2 hours (so obviously they didn’t have guests arriving). I think in a prestige hotel there should be flexibility to arrive 1 hour early (or make check in a bit more convenient starting from 2pm), and a complimentary 1 hour late check out (assuming not fully booked as was the case here).

This is a beautiful boutique hotel with great care taken in the styling of main areas, restaurant and rooms. A real pleasure to be in. The hotel was well staffed so you didn't need to wait long for check-in, restaurant service etc. Staff working hard to keep the hotel well run, clean and pleasant. Restaurant served tasty and well priced food. It was a treat for our 30th Wedding Anniversary and we were very happy with our experience, the staff remembered and we received complementary cocktail vouchers which was a lovely touch. We would return.

I'm a seasoned traveller and this hotel absolutely blew me away. From its interior design, large rooms, restaurant and bar downstairs (cocktails A+++). Beds were so comfortable I could have stayed there all day and the shower had the perfect temp and pressure. Nestled on the edge of the city, you can walk through the streets of magical Edinburgh. I honestly thought I had landed in luxury!

There's nothing I didn't like - the coffee machine was broken but I didn't mind at all. It's a bit far from the train station to walk with heavy luggage but you can easily catch a cab like we did and be there in 2 minutes.

The staff were absolutely standout. It was my 10 year old sons first time in Edinburgh and he was blown away, the girls at reception were amazing, they gave us a perfect room, were always smiling, helped with directions, gave tips on where to eat and genuinely were the best of anywhere I have stayed. The whole hotel is breathtakingly beautiful, and everyone we met was super friendly from the bar staff to the cleaning staff and girl greeting people entering the restaurant. We got a great deal as this hotel would usually be outside budget, but I will have to return as it was so good. We didn't need a firestick as the tv already has every app you could need. The mini bar fridge was well stocked. There was lots of room for storage, the bathroom was amazing with my favourite addition of robes, and there were high-end straighteners and hairdryer we had a sitting area with two armchairs that were really cool for chilling in. The bed was ridiculously comfy, no noise and wonderfully clean. We didn't eat here as our adventures took us to the other side of the city so we ate there but the food looked great too.

Nothing it was perfect.

Absolutely loved our stay from the moment we entered the hotel to the check in, Lady on reception was so nice and very helpful guiding us to the best spots in the city. We were very early to the hotel and our room was not ready but out check in was seamless they kept our bags safe, called us when the room was ready and when we came back to the hotel our bags were already in the room. It was my wife's birthday so they gave us free drinks on arrival which was a lovely touch. The room was huge and had everything you needed. We had dinner in the hotel on the first night and it did not disappoint the whole vibe around the hotel is relaxed.

struggling to write something here as we loved everything, maybe the only thing was there was no slippers in the room like what was advertised they had run out but apart from that nothing.

The room was exceptionally clean with good facilities and the bed was very comfortable. The location was ideal for a train traveller.

The breakfast experience was disappointing. My husband and I ordered the Tigerlily grill and we asked for brown bread toast but got white bread. We immediately asked for this to be rectified but this took a while to sort out. When the toast was eventually provided it was only for me not for my husband. My husband's breakfast had beans and tomato missing. It took a while to alert the serving staff about my husband's missing food items as there were no staff about. The tea was tasteless.

Extremely comfy beds, welcoming staff and on hand for all needs. The location was perfect being close to all the shops, restaurants and bars as well as being a great place to hang out too with there being a beautiful bar downstairs. Breakfast the next morning was top notch and the staff were very attentive.

Small things such as slippers were not available and a cupboard was broken (staff explained however and offered to look at cupboard) , the products were not to taste (smell wise) and considering the decor in the bar, the room was quite bog standard in comparison. This is all from personal taste however

I have stayed here a few times and it is always fab. This stay for my 60th birthday was exceptional. Our room was upgraded to the mini georgian suite and all of the staff were very attentive. Maya was so lovely and friendly behind the bar and we had a chat and she was genuinely interested in us . The guy at breakfast each morning and the lady who served us our dinner on the Tuesday (sorry I dont know their names) were equally lovely as were the reception staff. Couldn't fault the service, food and cocktails and already looking forward to staying again in May

Nice hotel with perfect location! Just a couple of minutes walk to Princess Street and great restaurants nearby. Good size rooms, comfortable beds and well cleaned. Staff was service minded and helpful, especially breakfast staff.

Wifi signal very low in the rooms. Both the safe and room phones wasn’t working throughout our stay. Bathroom zink tap couldn’t be closed properly so water was dripping. We let the reception know and they said they would fix the mentioned things during our stay, but didn’t happen.

The bed was a good size and comfortable, shower was fab and also spacious along with the room lovely breakfast and cocktails were great too Staff were also very attentive and laid back and the common areas were lovely areas to relax in the open fire was also a great focal point.

The aircon in the room let it down a little as quiet noisy there was no way to switch it off but under stand its an older building and not staffs fault And the common Area toilets were all disgusting my daughter went to use them before leaving hotel and decided against using them as there was faeces in every toilet don't know if this was a flushing problem but had left the premises when she told me and had to go elsewhere if I had known I would have said to staff before leaving so maybe staff checking them more regularly is a good idea
