The hotel is in a great location with easy access to everything in central Edinburgh. Although it's in the city centre we found the bedroom quiet and had no issues with outside noise. The room was stylishly decorated with excellent facilities and the bed was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the communication prior to our arrival was quiet and efficient.

The brunch service was perhaps a little inattentive but this is being picky (the food was excellent) . . . but the following morning breaking was very fast and we were really pleased with the vegetarian option.

The room was very large by European standards, with a very comfortable bed and good amenities. I didn't realize when I booked that the breakfast was included, and I'm so glad it was. The food was delicious! We ate breakfast every day and dinner a few times. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. This stay was actually the second of two bookings, before and after a tour to the Isle of Skye. They stored our large suitcase while we were gone with no problems. We stayed in two different rooms, and both were very comfortable and clean. The location in New Town was far enough from the bustle to be quiet, but close enough to walk everywhere. We highly recommend this property.

I can't think of a thing.

Mateo the manager went above and beyond to make sure that we got checked in and were able to eat dinner at the restaurant after I dropped the ball on making a reservation. The rooms were clean and minibar was well stocked if we had been hungry or thirsty; I also appreciated the espresso machines the next morning. I cannot overemphasize how nice it was to be able to drink at a cocktail bar that was creative and then only have to walk upstairs to fall asleep, especially since the weather was blustery the night we stayed there.

This is to be expected in a larger city, but the alleyway that our room faced was decently loud early in the morning. Do not expect a conventional reception desk; we got taken back to the other side of the restaurant to check in. You do also walk directly through the restaurant to get to the door leading to your rooms, which is next to the restaurant's kitchen.

The double room we stayed in was beautiful, bed was very comfortable I had a great night's sleep here. The mini bar had a great selection of drinks and chocolates. There was even a small jug of fresh milk to use if you wanted to have some tea or coffee. GHD hairdryer and straighteners, ironing board and iron. Great toiletries in the bathroom. Staff where all very friendly. Breakfast was first class, scrambled eggs where light and fluffy, bacon and sausages where really tasty along with toast and jam and a lovely hot pot of tea.

It's not that I had a problem with it, but there wasn't a lift in this property. If you are of a certain age or have mobility problems this might be a problem.

The location was brilliant for accessing the city centre. The staff were really friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The small touches, such as, the fizz they had put in our room for our wedding anniversary and the coffee machine were fabulous!

The room was very warm, the fan did little to cool down the temperature. The food in the restaurant was mostly good, but didn’t exceed my expectations, as I hoped it would. The service was very slow and often we went to the bar to order the drinks, as the waitress was not around. The rate of the room is a bit much for what you’re getting.

Fantastic location just off Princes Street, friendly staff who let us check in early, the restaurant and bar is also great, especially the breakfast was a 10/10 and tasty cocktails! Comfortable room, simple but cosy and had everything we needed and more! We had a wonderful stay! If you like a good cocktail before a night out and are a foodie you'll love it!

It was pricey, but it's matched with other hotels during peak season in Edinburgh! We weren't sure if the wine left out was complimentary or charged for same as other snacks in the room!

Nice warm venue with pleasant staff who took our bags pre check in, so we could browse unencumbered. Booking.com forgot to say we wanted a twin room and this was remedied directly. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was tasty (but did take about 35 minutes to come). We liked that you can pay to use the Kimpton Charlotte gym, that the room had a plant, SMEG fridge with milk for tea and was super clean. Little extras had been thought of such as soap and shower gel, even hair straighteners should you need. We felt welcome and the corridor by the rooms smelt like a spa. We really liked it and it was obviously popular for lunches and cocktails.

You have to go by the food hatch for the kitchen to get to your room. It would be better were it a separate entrance. We were in Room 1 over the kitchen where the chefs sit outside and you hear deliveries early morning but that's being picky as overall we were pleased. Music does go on until 1pm but it was no different than hearing neighbours in a flat, though maybe not best for very light sleepers. I would have liked a wee safe but that's personal preference and maybe in hotter weather a fan in the cupboard as the room got warm. (Greenery is lovely in the bar but we watched two taller men head butt faux plants, so be careful if you're tall but forgive it, it looks nice). Breakfast took longer as it was busy or I would have rated our visit a 10. We had a really nice stay. Thanks!

We arrived at Rabble on Saturday evening after a three day tour. It really just looked like a restaurant and I could not see where the hotel was. Were were tired and a bit confused when we were greeted by an employee who was very friendly and asked us if we just got in to town. We let him know we had just returned from a tour and were checking in. He guided us to the back of the restaurant and asked to wait for the manager. The restaurant had a really nice vibe. People were there celebrating an engagement and others were enjoying their Saturday night with cocktails. Eventually the manager came and greeted us and got us checked in. He also suggested a dinner reservation for us since the restaurant was almost booked. We agreed and he was able to get us a spot, He then helped us with our luggage and led us to our room. NOTE-- There is no elevator/lift at this property. The room was outfitted with a SMEG mini fridge, a hair dryer, what looked like a Dyson fan, a Nespresso machine. I think there was an iron and ironing board too. The beds were comfortable and it was pretty quiet. The shower had shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We had dinner and cocktails at the restaurant and it was excellent. It exceeded our expectations. I liked this property and would stay here again.

The room was stuffy even when we ran the fan and opened the windows.

A bath with a shower, usually nowadays only a shower. Straighteners as well as a hairdryer!! Whoop, whoop! Plenty of coffee for the machine and fresh milk on a jug instead of UHT portion milk. Very clean and a very comfy bed. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Great location too. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant it looked fabulous. I will look at booking again on my next visit to Edinburgh. Thank you for providing a great little gem!

The location was perfect and the staff exceptional and they couldn’t do enough for us as well as being really pleasant and professional. Breakfast was delicious as were the meals generally. The bathroom was spacious with fluffy towels and everything you could want.

It is in an old building so the rooms were a bit small. There was everything you needed. There was no lift so lots of stairs. No good for anyone with mobility problems.
