great location, super well maintained and clean and very comfortable beds with good secure lockers and everything you need in your bunk bed re phone charger ports, shelf and curtain for privacy :) can’t say enough about how onto the cleaning the staff were and I feel bad for them as in the mixed dorm every day there was something disgusting be it faeces in the toilet or green snot in the sink but then 5 minutes later the bathrooms would be sparkling again! bless them haha on my last night I had an incident where a man in the bunk above me was very drunk and vomited off the bunk onto the floor only my bed while I was in the pod below and obviously it was disgusting but the staff were so quick to help and had me moved immediately to a girls dorm for the night and were so nice to deal with !

Location was excellent. Just off Rose Street within a 5-10 minute walk of Princes Street and the Station, with easy access to the historical part of Edinburgh. Facilities were excellent with individual coded lockers in the dorms and appropriate ambient lighting so you can see without waking everyone up. Staff were friendly and efficient, even out of hours using the dedicated line (witnessed another guest calling it because she couldn't find the confirmation e-mail and they sorted her problem)

The codes on the dorm lockers could do with having their volume adjusted (way too loud) and the water doesn't flow out of the showers quickly enough, leading to sock gunk and hair accumulating on the shower tray for the next guest (can't be rinsed because the shower heads are the fixed overhead type). One thing I would suggest, for the safety of guests and property, is staff may want to be more careful with regards to disclosing guests' codes in the presence of other guests. My own code was repeated back to me within earshot of another guest when I had a problem with it, and I heard the code of another guest being repeated back to her when she was clearly trying to be cautious by.showing it to staff on a piece of paper (I was standing right behind)...

Located in New Town (a UNESCO site shared with Old Town), the pod hotel is surrounded by a vast choice of restaurants and bars (I recommend The Chippy by Spencer). Located 15 min walk from the center of Old Town. The staff was super helpful, the rooms were clean. The lockers are easy to used and access (you use a provided code). Self checkin was easy.

Obviously, the rooms are a bit noisy when people move around (but I survived). Ambiant lighting and sounds makes it hard to sleep late in the morning. There is only on toilet per floor. Comfort level for the bed is just okay.

Staff member is there every day to change linens for new arrivals and clean the common areas. Home from home! Kitchen is great and, as I like to cook, I prepared a few shared meals. Felt very comfortable and safe. Property is in a great central location. Staff responsive at all times.

The code system is very difficult to work through. Many people sitting at the door trying to get,in but having difficulties because the e-mail didn't arrive, or the temporary code before 3 pm didn't work,. There is a button to call an operator, but sometimes they are after hours. Also, one toilet and 2 showers on each floor for all genders and not always operational. You can go to any floor to use facilities, so a minor problem. A bathroom on the ground floor beside the kitchen/common area would be a plus.

Good location. It was fairly clean. I’d definitely stay again it just needs some minor improvements which I am outlining below.

They say they offer laundry facilities but they only had a single washing machine which has a drying function and the drying function was broken during my stay! Also these self drying washing machines never dry properly anyway. Furthermore, my locker code was not working on arrival and I had to call their other location to fix it. Lastly, the floor mat towels at the shower booths need to be replaced more often or replaced with a wooden platform.

I LOVED this hostel, everyone that was there was super friendly, and wanted to chat and talk. It gave a really good vibe. The staff was suuuuper friendly. The general decor is quite hipster, i liked it a lot. There is clearly a lot of effort given to this hostel, it is not just the base amenities. There are good systems put in place for the common room, people tend to be clean, and tag their food. The hostel also provide good hairdryers, which is a big plus for girlies. You get USB ports in your bed pod so you can be on your phone while it charges. Also good wifi, i never had issues.

Just gotta keep in mind there are 2 showers and 1 toilet for each level, but that was never an issue. Just something to keep in mind. Also, no plugs in the bathrooms, but they give plenty in the rooms that you can use.

Excellent location, next to Princes street, within walking distance to train station and easy access to multiple bust stops. Comfy bed, spacious pod and room was well-ventilated. I liked the fully self-check in process and use of keypad entry into the hostel as well as well-sized locker in then room itself. Pleasantly surprised by the free towel included as part of the pod. Overall great spot for short stay in Edinburgh, economical and comfortable.

There was no physical human receptionist but they had 24/7 chat/WhatsApp access to a virtual receptionist if I had any questions or concerns - so not a big deal really.

The staff was very friendly, they did a great job. That to mention that the staff isn't there at all times, so if you're looking for the robot-checkin with minimal human interaction that's possible too. The mattress was comfy and the curtain gave a bit of privacy. The location is absolutely unbeatable, close to everything. Overall, my stay was fine, provided earplugs worked well, and a personal touch here and there made it feel cozier.

The place is quite small, there are limited showers and washrooms available for the guests, and the room wasn't very large. So folks with bigger bags didn't feel very comfortable opening or storing them. Oh and I heard that the washing/drying cycle takes over 2 hours or more, so I'd check that before using it (and it's just one both for the staff and the guests).

The location is amazing. It is 3 minutes from the airport bus stop. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and it is surrounded by stores. It is just a few minutes' walk to sightseeing. On the floor I was staying on, there were two rooms, I imagine they were the same, with four beds in each. Although there was only one bathroom on the floor (2 showers, 1 toilet), I didn't have any problems because I only stayed one night, and since it was January, I imagine it wasn't at full capacity. I found the hostel to be very clean overall, especially the bathroom, which was spotlessly clean, with no sign of hair in the drain or mold in the corners of the walls.

There should be a vending machine to provide at least bottles of water. You have to leave the hostel and go to a shop to buy it.

I liked how easy the check-in was, the instructions for using the codes/lockers/wifi, the common area was nice with the use of a fridge/oven/microwave. I was able to pick up togo food and eat it there instead of eating at the restaurant when it was late.

I feel like there should be some type of shelves in the bathroom/shower are to put your clothes and toiletries on while showering. I had to set all my clean clothes on the floor. Also, maybe some kind of bench in the dorms or outside the dorm to sit on while putting on your shoes.
