We enjoyed our stay at Monastero di Cortona Hotel although it was a little tricky to access because it is situated high on the hill within the walls of Cortona. There is parking available at the hotel for an extra (quite large)sum, however the streets to access that parking are VERY steep and narrow. Parking outside the walls of Cortona is at a premium and it is very hard to find a spot - I can't imagine what it would be like in the high season! (Impossible!) We loved the breakfast which was fresh and made to order from a menu rather than the buffet typical of many other hotels, and all the staff are an absolute delight.

Our room was large and comfortable however we were sad not to have tea/coffee making facilities in our room or somewhere else in the hotel such as a lounge area perhaps. It is also a problem for people with restricted mobility to have the shower within the bathtub.

Loved everything about our stay.

If you are not familiar with traveling around Italy, please rent a small car to visit this location. Streets are narrow but doable.

Fabulous stay here the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The pool area is quiet and very comfortable. Good food and bar, room was kept super clean and tidy. Great location right in Cortona so it’s easy to wander into town for dinner. It’s a haven from the busy life outside.

Driving to the hotel is easy when you know how but the car gps can’t handle it very well. Precise details for driving to the hotel parking would be very useful.

incredible place. cleaning personell, receptionists, waiters and waitresses, masseurs and the bartender - they all create a magical experience with not only tactfulness but warmth and authenticity. the facilities are beautiful- everythings clean and charming with the home of the hotel being an old monastery that was respectfully renovated. the changeable lights in the shower add a playful touch. cortona itself being a place of art and culture with mountain views made this the perfect stay for me.

The Hotel was gorgeous. We booked the spa, massage, and sauna on our travel day (1st day) and it was wonderful after a long travel from USA. Everything was top notch here for a boutique hotel. Easily the best hotel to stay in Cortona. We stayed there for 2 nights. The staff was very helpful in giving us directions and recommendations in the city.

Contact the hotel before driving into the city. DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS! They will send you a video on where to drive. You have to enter the city gates in a special area to make it easily to the hotel. I do not recommend having a large vehicle as the streets were made for horses and carts when it was built.

Beautiful hotel, room was spacious and very nicely furnished and decorated. All staff were very nice and helpful. Great bar with a wonderful barkeeper. Nice, quiet location with beautiful views.

Nothing major, but a couple of small inconveniences: the wall-mounted blow dryer was heavy, had a short power cord, and required holding down a button continuously to operate. It would have been a nice touch to have a Nespresso-style coffee machine instead of just a kettle and instant coffee.

Beautiful building, stunning decoration. Location was lovely with amazing views. They completely pampered you. The spa was gorgeous, very tastefully done in keeping with the building. We only stayed two nights but they changed all the bedding and towels the first morning, everything was so clean and all of the staff were so friendly.

I knew it was on a hill when booking, but it might be an idea to offer a golf caddy up and down to the town. It’s a very tough hill walk. I also think they need larger signs to locate the hotel by car. It took us ages to find it. However reception went out of their way to help us in the end. I think coffee making facilities in the room would be nice. Water was put in the room both days.

Extremely helpful, polite, and friendly staff. They were always doing their best to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. Amazing breakfast! Very interesting remodeled historical building, well taken care of and clean. Pool outside was also really nice with a wonderful sunset view from the hilltop.

Had to ask in the front desk to boost the ac on the second night since the lower temperature threshold appeared to be locked. Spa is not necessarily worth paying for the visit if you are not using their other services since the water in the pool is not really warm, and other than that you just have a sauna and a Turkish bath. Both front desk and spa staff were very friendly when issues were brought up.

The property is beautiful with the large opening hall, attractive room and lovely pool area. The staff on the whole were great in particular the breakfast team being stand out.

The parking situation is a bit of a nightmare but this was known before booking and the staff did contact before our stay notifying us of this. Being pedantic there was a lack of storage in the room and the small single use bathroom products aren’t the most environmentally friendly.

This was our second stay at this beautiful hotel. The service is exceptional. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that all guests thoroughly enjoy their stay. The breakfast is fabulous - the service, presentation, variety, generous portions, and food quality. The attention to detail is remarkable and greatly enhances the guest experience.

Everything was perfect! My husband and I will return to Tuscany and will plan to stay at Monastero di Cortona!
