The staff was exceptionally accommodating and always ready to assist. They helped us with an early check-in, provided access to the kitchenette in the adjacent building, and recommended places to visit based on our specific interests. The room was quite spacious, and the renovated bathrooms felt modern and roomy. Housekeeping was also excellent — the rooms were very clean and well maintained.

We did miss having a kitchenette or microwave in the room, as it would have added to our comfort. The small bedside table with the kettle felt a bit unsteady — a slightly larger, sturdier table with a microwave and some basic dishes and cutlery would have been a nice addition.

Lovely property in a quiet location across from the park. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were large and modern. Breakfast / Coffee options within a short walk (though the walk back up a steep hill isn't fun!). Lovely view of the city from the King Suite. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Finding the place was a bit tricky, and parking was quite tight (but manageable). My only real complaint was the noise. You can hear every door opening and closing in the hallway every time another guest leaves or comes back to their room. Not a big deal if you're a deep sleeper, but recommend bringing earplugs if you're sensitive to noise. Even with that, I would stay again, as the place is absolutely lovely.

I booked a three-bedroom unit, and both the rooms and kitchen were very clean. My two kids are usually allergic to dust mites, but thankfully, there were no issues this time. The hotel staff contacted me a day in advance to confirm the expected check-in time. Since I arrived at Launceston Airport at 7 AM, they mentioned that if other guests checked out early, they would prioritize cleaning the room so I could check in earlier and rest well. Highly recommend this accommodation—the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating.

"Are the many stairs an inconvenience? However, they’re part of what makes this hotel special and unique."

A perfect location, walking distance from shops, aquatic centre and city park. A beautifully presented historic building with complimenting modern furnishings. The huge windows let in just the right amount of natural sunlight. The washer and drier were so convenient especially when travelling with children, even the washing powder was provided. There were enough toiletries provided for our family of 6 for the entire stay with toilet paper stocked up regularly. There was free parking on the premises. I cannot fault this place at all. We all loved it.

The location of this hotel is amazing, walking distance to city centre fo dinner. The view from our room was breathtaking. We booked the King Suite, and absolutely loved it. The room was beautifully fitted out with views from every windows. Claire on reception was just lovely and a great help when we left something upon leaving. We will definitely be back when in Launceston again.

It was not a big deal for us, but there is no lift access as it is an old heritage style building and has quite a few stairs

Beautiful heritage mansion - we stayed in a three bedroom apartment that we could have easily lived in long term. Comfortable beds with electric blankets. Great heating in all bedrooms. Well equiped kitchen - 6 x bottles of water in the fridge was a nice touch. Washing powder supplied. Large bathroom - plenty of hot water with a high shower rose to accommodate the tallest person. Great location - easy walk down York Street to the centre of town. Parking available.

Not suitable if you have mobility issues due to the steps - I didn’t notice any ramps.

The decoration is elegant French style and you will have a feeling living in the maison. We booked a 3 bedroom room and it has a super large dining area, kitchen, living room. Our family enjoy the time at Launceston. The shopping district is within walking distance and you can drive nearby to Kmart/Coles/Cataract Gorge.

There is some stairs to go up to the room which might not work for elders. However, my family didn't suffer much and all the advantage for this hotel outperform this little disadvantage. Suggest to park on the York street and unload the luggages first. This will save you few steps of stairs

We stayed in apartment #10 on the 2nd floor (accessed by stairs, there is no lift in the building). It was very large with old world charm, open plan kitchen, dining area, lounge, 3 large bedrooms (very comfortable beds) & a bathroom with shower over a small tub! The kitchen is very modern with all the facilities you require including an integral washing machine & dryer (very grateful of this as we were on a 3 week lap of Tassie:)) You do need to be able to climb stairs so if mobility is an issue the staff are very willing to assist with carrying your luggage, otherwise ask for a ground floor room. Parking on York St. is available for a short time, unless its the weekend when it is free both days. There are quite a few steps from the parking lot at the back of the building. The hotel is at the top of a hill so driving or getting an Uber is an option if, once again, mobility is an issue. The staff are very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable of the area & restaurants. We would recommend staying here. If you love authentic Italian food with a great atmosphere & very attentive staff we highly recommend the family owned La Cantina on George St. ... delizioso!!:)

Nothing.

The location was excellent , the downstairs room I had was lovely, clean, comfortable and warm. I loved my stay here.

Parking was a bit difficult although there was car parking it was rather narrow, a number of steps, quite steep access to the accommodation from the car park. Checking out I parked the car in York Street and used the level path to take bags to the car.

Beautiful Victorian mansion turned hotel. Our room was absolutely charming. Loved the high ceilings and comfy wingback chairs. Appreciated the modern, updated bathroom. The staff person working at reception was friendly, courtesy, professional, and so helpful. Her restaurant recommendations were spot on.

It would have been to have a small dining table/chairs and plates for light breakfast in the room. Can't fill the electric kettle in the bathroom sink.
