The room was very big. It had an smaller room connected with no doors in between where our child slept. The view is spectacular. You can see The monument of Assana Dinasty. It was very hot outside on our staying but the AC in the room was working perfectly. The bathroom was spacious and had a bath tub. The stuff was very welcoming and helpfull. The breakfast is included in the room price and it was delicious if not a little too much. Coffee, croissant, some sort of cheese pie and this was just the beginning. For our kid they brought a kid breakfast with fruit yogurt, a cockie and a Kinder pingui besides the rest of the food.

It's not in the location's fault but the fact that the location is situated on a pretty narrow street the parking spaces are limited but you can park on the street before turning right. We were lucky to have a space saved for us. It was trickier going out on that narrow street but that it was a beautiful experience

Beautiful hotel, comfortable and clean with authentic Bulgarian decor and a great view. The breakfast was excellent with pastries, eggs, cold cheese and meat , yogurt, toast and nice coffee with more if you wanted it. We had two evening meals there which were very good. A wide choice of Bulgarian dishes with local wine at a very reasonable price. The staff were very friendly.

It was just perfect

Everyone at the hotel and the restaurant are superb! Helpful and friendly. Food at the restaurant is exceptionally good! We always enjoy it. The location and the view are great. In room coffee and tea are fantastic addition to the well-appointed room. New bathroom is extraordinary.

Major issue - I, personally, was upset to see that the new management is very unkind to the local cats! This was a main draw for dome of us. The previous management was very welcoming to the cats and do were most customers. We enjoyed feeding them. I will have to think about booking next time, as an animal lover it is not a good start of my day when I see hungry animals and I can't share my plentyful plate. Minor issues- Wifi was horrible. Kept getting kicked off the internet or it was so weak couldn't connect yo anything. Hence, my review was late and only giving an 8. Even with AC, our room was quite humid and hot at night (didn't have a good sleep).

I rarely give a 10 for a hotel but this one is really exceptional. It looks so nice and rustic, the room was huge, comfy and with a nice view. It was very warm inside, spotless clean, great breakfast, and the staff very very kind. The location is just perfect, away from the main road noise, just perfect for a family with kids. And to finish off, the price was a bargain considering all of the above. Good job Gurko team, you really done it.

Nothing here, it's a first for such a long time. Everything was perfect.

The OLD Town Of Veliko Tarnovo doesn't meet the modern standard of comfort, is crowded and space is a luxury... BUT at Gurko Hotel all is at maximum - plenty of space, a beautiful view to Yantra River around the monument of Asan Dinasty. We had a suite - two rooms, each with own bathroom. Extraordinary continental breakfast is more than you need to start the day; even vegetarian menu is an option for those with huge appetite!

well... if you are booking a room in the modern hotel of Veliko You will have the best view - the old town! but if you are in the Old town you will see that comunist hotel no matter where you stay in the old town..

What a fantastic stay! The hotel is right in the heart of Veliko Tarnovo's old town,super convenient for going anywhere. Honestly, it’s gorgeous, hands down the prettiest building on Gurko Street. We loved the vintage style in our room. Pull back the curtains and bam, there’s the Monument to the Assen Dynasty right outside. Every staff was incredibly kind and went out of their way to help us. Thank you all again,you made our trip unforgettable!

We were on the top floor, so the wifi in our room was basically non-existent.

Included breakfast was great. The view from the room across the gorge was awesome. I enjoyed sitting the small balcony and just relaxing looking at the river and the large monument. Also had dinner at their restaurant right on the edge of the gorge, really enjoyed the dinner and view. Sites in the main center are walkable, if you are willing to deal with the hike up the side of the hill

The location in old town is good. Our family room was spacious and had a nice view. The breakfasts were wonderful and plentiful. There is an elevator. Make reservations for dinner, or you won’t get in!

I have mobility issues. For others, you may want to know it’s long hard hike up steep cobblestone streets to the upper part of the city. Parking is almost nonexistent.

We had a small but fabulous room with an amazing view over the river. Our best view in Bulgaria. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They parked our car in the garage. We had a fabulous breakfast - very generous and tasty. We also ate in the restaurant one evening and that was good too. Although it is a small hotel there is a lift - some hotels in Bulgaria don't have these.

The bed was very soft - we didn't mind but some people might need a firmer bed

This is a small hotel with a very nice restaurant attached. The old town is perched on steep hills overlooking the valley and the views from the room were spectacular. It was rainy during our visit so we had dinner at the restaurant and it was great with excellent Bulgarian dishes. The staff cleared a space for us to park our car in their garage so we didn't have to hike. The room was more like an apartment - airy and comfortable. Only stayed one night but visited the main attractions.

Everything was great. No parking on the street but they solved that.
