Our family of 3+2 dogs recently stayed at a lovely small hotel on top of the hill in Brunate. The place was cosy, spotlessly clean, and had a welcoming atmosphere. Pets are allowed and treated very well, which was a big plus. There were no unexpected extra charges. The location is excellent—just a two-minute walk from the funicular, which takes you straight down to the center of Como in a few minutes. The panoramic views around the hotel are stunning. Parking was convenient and could be paid easily via the Easy Park app. Overall, I had a great experience and highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful stay with beautiful scenery.

Be careful with air-conditioning as it works perfectly and you can get cold very soon 😆

Locanda Milano 1873 is a lovely, family-run hotel perched above Lake Como, offering warm hospitality and breathtaking views. The owners are hands-on and genuinely welcoming, which adds a personal touch to the stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. The on-site restaurant is excellent, serving delicious homemade Italian dishes and local wines. Located just a short drive or funicular ride from Como center, it's peaceful yet convenient. A great choice for anyone seeking an authentic, relaxed Lake Como experience with a heartfelt family atmosphere.

The staff was very friendly. We got a glass of sparkling wine at the check-in. The parking lot is very close to the property, just a bit difficult to find it but the staff will explain it to you. The hotel is 10min walking to the funicular to Como. The hotel room despite small is quite fine, has a good size bed, a desk and a small wardrobe. The shower has a good water pressure.

The room was really hot and the only fan available was not sufficient to cool it down. The shower was a bit clogged and the water took too long to lower down. No hooks available to hang the towels.

Lovely little hotel in Brunate, stayed there with my sister for a few nights early April. Very friendly staff, made us very welcome at all times. Fabulous location for walking. We were very happy we stayed there and not in Como town itself. Just a few minutes on the funicular which runs every 15 minutes if you wanted to go downtown. We just went off for walks every day and it was perfect for that. Breakfast was on a small side but was just about enough to set us up for a day. We had a couple of dinners at their restaurant which was convenient.

Would like a bigger choice for breakfast but coffee was very good!

good price per night, small room with a double bed and toilet with a shower, it was very clean, breakfast is very minimal but for the price it‘s okay, free parking, peaceful area, friendly staff.

1) The room was so cold during the night with thin blankets on the bed and heater did not work properly (we were there in march, don’t forget long clothes for bed time when you go there not in the summertime). 2) Also It‘s on a hill so kinda difficult without car to get there and also with a car the roads are so tight and curvy driving up that hill. 3) Breakfast is very minimal (you get one Croissant with spread&jam, a small piece of Pie and juice and coffee)

The views from the property were great and the staff were amazing. Immediately I was greeted and served coffee without making any requests. The host/ owner spoke to me as if I was family and truly made me feel welcomed. While checking out the host served me a classic breakfast and continued on our conversation from the previous evening. This was the first stop I made on my Italian journey and I wouldn’t change it. Thank you Locanda Milano for your hospitality, conversations, and memories!

The location is nice, with walking distance around 3 minutes, can enjoy the amazing Como Lake view. The owner was friendly and helpful! Parking was for free, convient to park into the hotel. The room was simple but cleaned well. we had quite sleeping all the night, the sound proof of windows to the street was efficient. However, occasionally could hear some noise from neighbours, but almost was acceptable for us.

Breakfast generally was good, but for me, it was a little too simple, miss variation.

the owner is very kind, polite and ready to assist in any issue. the position was excellent, in a few steps you can find naturalistic roads with wonderful sightseeings, or you can reach the funiculaire and reach the center of Como in few minutes. The room was comfortable and very silent.

Regarding the hotel, everything was GOOD! But if you decide to buy the tickets for the funiculaire in the bar adjacent to the cabin station in Brunate, I recommend NOT to order any food in the bar because prices are higher than in Piazza San Marco in Venice!!!

Basic breakfast but fine. Cleanliness of hotel. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Simple but tasty food. Nice wines.

Always a pity to get breakfast items and toiletries in small plastic pots and sachets which is not good for our earth as they are creating too much waste. Impossible to open shampoo sachets..without scissors which I do not travel with. Toilet paper and hand soap had run out in downstairs women's toilet

The Personal & especially the owner were very friendly & helpful& Respectfull. They have a Restaurant and a Bar in Hotel, which serves good food& drinks. On arrival, guests gets even a welcoming beverage 🍷!

Reaching hotel has only 2 options : Coming with a Taxi or a Funicoler ( which was a bit chaotic to get a ticket ( the cost & the que ) but for those, Taxi fares is ok, then maybe convenient. The first room was a bit too tiny, and the bathroom was a bit unclean. But we talked with the owner & he gave us a very clean room with a clean bathroom, even with a tiny terrace !
