Kettle in the room / the balcony / near a train station and grocery stores / near the lake and Old Town.

Room for improvement: There were two things that we didn't like that we realize are typically European, but at a nicer place like Hotel Opera, I would have expected to not see them. 1) The double bed was two twin beds pushed together so it creates a crack down the middle. 2) The shower had one of those ridiculous doors where it doesn't close down the whole length of the tub. In addition, there was a door where part of it turned in or out, but it didn't stay closed (and water got out). I suppose that nothing says "welcome to Europe" like a bottle cap at your nose, a crack down the middle of your "double" bed, or water all over the bathroom.

there were two women on duty at the front desk on the 11thg of may who were most helpful throughout our stay and one woman and one man who were there most days of our stay and on and off at certain times and both were extremely helpful...the two young women workingf 11th morning when we left knew the names of both of them so please ask! so helpful from satsumas to special tissaines of tea to help with other things like lighter duvets etc...sadly i wrote down all four names and lost them flying to london!

there was nothing we did not like about this hotel. very careful about making things right, in conception too (empty fridge with bottled water at first but not filled with junk like most hotels....so one could keep ones own things there for late night ...and s the superb tibits is 20 feet away with stunning sandwiches and take away food of the highest quality (and for other kinds of meals, thge great restaurant conti is right net door) the fridge is helpful. the mattresses and swiss duvet covers fantastic, pillows, duvets, huge windows onto the street...trees outside the window...just ideal. and quiet.

The very functional and up-to-date room facilities and the oveall cleanliness.

First impressions: the room was small. We all felt it was a single room in which the hotel placed a double bed, so calling it a double room. We really don't think it's as easy as this to make it a room for two people! One person did not have access to their side of the bed! It should be a single room with a single bed! The online description of this aspect is deceptive.

I like the location, it was very close to most of the places and events. We walked every place we wanted to go. Room was cozy; especially the bathroom. It was renewed and very clean. The staff was very helpful end concerned. Breakfast was also very good. I especially thank to Ms. Dilan Guner. She made all the efforts for feeling myself better when i was sick.

The room was a bit small but we had a nice view out of the window. I didn't upgrade because we planned to use the room only for sleeping, but I got sick and had to stay in the room a whole day.

Not a lot of downsides to this place. I had a lovely stay and I will definately come back. The location is everything! Its centered but quiet. Beautiful room and facilities. Absolutely great.

They offer a lovely breakfast but unfornutaley not many plant-based options. Im vegans so really had only fruits to snack on. They do have soy milk if you ask. Not too bad and also Starbucks is close by with great coffee and cakes :-)

Very clean and comfortable. Excellent location. Breakfast options were great too, and the the staff was very friendly.

It took a while to figure out that breakfast was not included in my booking —I initially thought it was included and wanted clarification. But it seems that they couldn’t see it straight forward in the hotel system. I wish it was something easy to see from the beginning so that I would plan accordingly during the stay

The Opera Hotel is incredibly well located for my purposes - which is to go to the opera in Zurich, while having a good experience at reasonable value for money. I have never known the staff at the hotel to be anything other than welcoming and professional, and the ambience is well put together. To expand on the location - it is on a direct line from the airport(the S16, which means the hotel is half an hour from the airport including walks to and from the train stations), right next to the opera, and close to a number of restaurants, a park by the lake, and one of the locations of a specialty coffee shop of reasonable quality. Breakfast is buffet style, with an option to order eggs, and not expensive to add on, relatively speaking - I have always been satisfied, anyway. There is a good variety of local beverages(mostly alcoholic, but some local cola/soda variations) available, which is always interesting as well.

I must confess that the default pillows are too soft for my liking, but this is due to cultural differences and I am reasonably certain that it is something that could have been accommodated for had I asked.

Clean, very modern and the staff were excellent. The location was so good, close to the train and the lake.

The room was a little small and the double bed could only be accessed on one side, which made it awkward, and the duvet was too small for the bed. We had an exceptionally hot day and the air conditioning didn’t cope very well but wasn’t too bad.

The staff did their best to accommodate us to connecting rooms which was very important for our family. The breakfast is very decent and the service was nice. Location is very good since it is only a few minutes walk from the old town.

It was a bit over priced for what it offers but maybe this is because of Christmas holidays season. The hotel was full from what I understood so maybe this explains the price.
