Suite 607 was an amazing space to hang out & rest after long days exploring. Fantastic location, this was the reason for booking. Friendly staff.

Room 607 Suite is located on the side of the hotel overlooking the school. Unfortunately, every school morning between 8-8.30am for half an hour, their daily assembly was outside with a very loud PA MICROPHONE 🎤 blaring out. Just spoilt the morning within this beautiful suite. Not hotel fault, I understand this. Breakfast was a little limited.

To be greeted on arrival with an upgrade to a suite was an unexpected but very welcome surprise. The Amora is my go to hotel whenever I visit Chiang Mai. It has an excellent location just outside the old town walls and is within easy walking distance of the Tha Pae Gate, on the Eastern side of the old town, where you will find Walking Street set up on Saturday and Sunday evenings. The rooms are spacious (even without an upgrade). Hot water availability for the shower is good as is the water pressure. Car parking is available on site and is free.

Didn't find anything not to like

Well-located for our needs. Room was large and well maintained with a very comfortable bed and adequate bathroom. I’m not a fan of having the shower over the bath and I found it a bit difficult. Staff were all very helpful and housekeeping was five star. All in all, an excellent mid-range hotel which seemed popular with tourists from northern and central Europe. We’ll be back on our next Thailand trip. All linen was clean and good condition.

As mentioned, the shower over the bath was a definite minus. Apart from that, everything was fine.

The room was very large and bright and was well equipped. The bed was comfortable but a bit firm for my liking. I had a beautiful view of the mountain. The location was very good, just a short walk to the Sunday night market. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. I had been staying at a different hotel but because of some other very inconsiderate guests, it was very noisy so I moved to Amora for my last night in Chiang Mai. My room was very quiet and I slept for 8 hours.

Breakfast was not included in my room rate which I was aware of but I thought the breakfast was overpriced. There was someone making eggs to order but after waiting forever I gave up. He never did take my order and there was no one else waiting. I would stay at this hotel again but I wouldn't have breakfast there.

The location of Amora Thapae enabled us to walk to almost all our desired activities. The staff were welcoming and friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. The breakfast was ample with many choices available. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great location and friendly staff

We didn't use the pool as much as we would have as it didn't appear to be 100% clean ( green slime on thevwallss) and broken steps leading into the water were dangerous. The staff were helpful after 3 nights with lack of sleep... our mattress had springs protruding and was well overdue to be replaced. This they did when I mentioned it to them for which we were grateful

Staff, especially cleaning staff were exceptional. Room was comfortable. Liked the view.

A couple minor things. Room could have used a dresser. We stayed for 7 nights and to have to get clothes out of suitcase all the time got old. I requested 2 champagne glasses from lobby bar to take up to room. I was told that was not allowed. I already had paid 50 bhat for the ice bucket. I never got a decent answer why this was not allowed.

The hotel's location was great, it was within walking distance to Tha Phae Gate which had plenty of restaurants and attractions. The pool was nice and the staff was excellent, they did not hesitate to help or reach out. Rooms were kept clean and the two water bottles daily were a lifesaver! The free parking was also a really nice perk!

Although nothing substantial, I would absolutely stay here again- The hotel was slightly outdated and could use a bit of remodeling around the hotel, rooms, and pools. There were pigeons hanging around the windows and it never failed that they would wake me up in the morning as they were extremely loud. The walls are also slightly thin, I could easily hear my neighbors next door.

There is a lot to like about the amora, the entrance and reception area has the wow factor big doors, porter, koi, friendly staff... facilities are more than adequate. Room was spacious but starting to look a bit tired and the location is close to east gate of the old city.

There are a few things that let down the experience. The room could do with better seating than what was there. It also was in need of redecoration especially the bathroom. Air conditioning was a bit on the noisy side, however none of this stopped me from enjoying my stay and I will happily return.

What a great spot to stay just outside the old city walls! The staff is more than courteous, and the breakfast is generous. The room is spacious and comfortable and we both slept well. Convenient tuktuks outside will take you wherever you wish, but don't hesitate to haggle the prices a bit. Within easy walking distance of so many gorgeous temples.

The hotel, probably built 40 or 50 years ago, must have been lovely at the time. It still is, but could use a good paint job and some redecorating. Other than that it was a perfect place to stay.

The Amora Thapae Hotel was in the perfect location, just a short walk from a great night market. I didn’t go in the pool but I could see it from my room and it looked lovely. The room itself was perfect, with a very comfortable king sized bed and a nice clean bathroom. staff were lovely and accommodating
