The breakfast was phenomenal. We had Khao Soi every morning because it was just that amazing! The owners are outstanding chefs and the food is really fabulous! The food is reasonably priced as well. The breakfast wasn't included in the room price, but it was so handy to just walk downstairs and have a lovely cafe with great coffee and fantastic food with great prices. Another great plus is the location to the old town- perfect! We often went out exploring and came back to use our bathrooms or have a quick rest. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The owner helped us to set up 2 day excursions and got good prices for us. We really enjoyed getting to know the owners and chatting with them every day. We had the room with a fan (no airco) and it was a fine temperature at night to sleep. It would depend on the month of visiting (ours was October) but we opened the balcony door and had the fan going to circulate the air.

The rooms need some attention (such as a door handle for the bathroom door- now it is just a hole where it was located) but we knew it was a budget accommodation and were expecting some little issues here and there.

Dutfan, the owner of the property was a smiling, helpful and caring host. She ensured that our request for a room with twin beds was met. Dutfan left the door open for us to ask any questions that would help us enjoy our stay in Chiang Mai. We did and she helped with useful information. Chiang Mai is one of my favourite destinations in Thailand and I was not disappointed. V.I.P. House is ideally situated at Thapae Gate in Old Town. All that a traveller would require - all forms of transport, shops, pharmacies and restaurants - are close by. AsV.I.P. House i family run, there was always someone at hand to assist when assistance was required. When I do return to Chiang Mai, I know that I will stay at V.I.P. House and I will recommend the accommodation to my friends and family and to all readers and prospective travelers to Chiang Mai. Thailand is a super destination and Chiang Mai certainly is a part of it. Thank you, Dutfan, and family for helping to make our stay in Chiang Mai memorable.

humble and modest guest house that seems to be stuck in time. Big rooms with a small balcony, very handy if you need to hang your laundry. the biggest plus of the room is that it comes with a small fridge wich is a huge plus! Great location and great price! Very comfortable place all and all.

We stayed 3x in VIP house since the location is very convenient (near the Tha Phae gate) and the rooms are good value for the price you pay. If you have breakfast in their restaurant, try the chocolate banana pancake! Best I ever had 😉

I always stay at VIP house when in CM. Lady owner is very kind and helpfull with everything, if you cant find her on reception she or someone from the family is always in the restaurant in front of the hotel. They also take care of the luggage for 10 bht per day, rooms are spacious and always clean, every room has a small terrace a fridge and a tv. The best part is definetly the location, it is 2 mins by walk from Tha Phae Gate and Sunday market. Whatever you need is close.

Simple lodging but comfortable. Perfect if you're not a fussy traveller and just need a place to spend your nights after spending the day out in Chiang Mai. No A/C so it could get a little stuffy at times. Great location, within walking distance to key attractions, food spots, Sunday night market. Coffee right downstairs at vip kitchen was great and reasonably priced

Water from the sink and shower in the toilet had a bit of an odour at times but it resolved by letting the water run for a while. No air conditioning so a little stuffy. All in all, still a very decent place to stay and I would stay there again gladly if ever in Chiang Mai again

The staff were amazing. Couldn’t fault them. They booked my cooking course, I came back after visiting Pai. The restaurant (ran by the owners) downstairs was excellent. Location was great. Easy to get to and nice to wander around

Some things in the room were a little shabby. Peeling paint. My main light was broken (probably by previous occupier) and therefore didn’t work. However there was a bedside lamp. Overall the place was good though.
