It was a great property. Clean, spacious, location was excellent. Staff were great!

There was construction right behind us. We would have appreciated notice so we could make an informed decision as to book or not.

There is very little not to like about Pestana Palm Gardens, everything about our trip with respect to the accommodation stay has been excellent and in most cases has surpassed expectations. There is a gym & sauna that are free to use. The pool is an excellent size and located in beautiful surroundings, albeit it was little on the chilly side with it being mid-February when we visited which I can't really hold against the provider! The on-site 'Sal & Tal' restaurant serves very nice food and the staff are very friendly and hospitable.

The only aspect I have not given a full, beaming smiley face to is the location - it is about a 20 - 25 minute walk in either direction to reach shops / restaurants and beaches with some hills / inclines to negotiate. For most young, fit and able-bodied people this obviously isn't a problem, but for older people or those with mobility problems and who haven't hired a car then this might be a factor, especially for those intending to self-cater at any point as the nearest shops / markets have very limited choice and are expensive. One other observation would be that after the cleaners' daily visit the tiled floors would seem to remain damp all afternoon / evening and never fully dry out.

The staff were friendly and prompt in response to requests. I was given an upgrade, with a lateral view of the ocean. The place was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The kitchen had everything that I needed. Early morning the sounds of little birds was a pleasure. The location is ideal and its easy to get to other towns and cities with a car. There is a beautiful small beach few minutes from here by walk. From there an interesting hiking trail along the edge of the cliffs towards a lighthouse, with beautiful views.

There was construction work going at a site nearby during the stay. It can be a disturbance in the morning hours. Since I was away during the day it wasn’t much of an issue. Except for that everything at the property was good and compensated for that.

Great and very quiet location overlooking the ocean, within walking distance to several gorgeous beaches, friendly staff including the restaurant always willing to help, nice restaurant on the property. Our villa was two-storied with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a full kitchen and washer/dryer. Our living room was gorgeous and spacious with a private backyard. Many hiking trails, Carvoeiro city center, and many other places to venture nearby.

The property is a little bit old but very nicely kept up.

Spacious clean townhouse in a resort. I got it at 40% off so it was worth it. Carvoeiro is the most beautiful Algarve seaside town to stay in, in my opinion.

Had to wait till 4pm to check in. It is stated on website but I tried at 3pm as a number of customers did too. Was told they would call me when the room was ready. But they didn't whereas those that hung around the reception got their rooms earlier. At 4pm when I went to the reception, they said it was ready already. Just disappointed they didn't inform me as they promised. I didn't want to keep asking the reception as they were agitated and stressed by many customers when I first tried to check in at 3pm. Not friendly nor polite but I can understand it was a busy time. For a nice resort, it was sad to find the toilet paper more like rough paper. It really is not worth skimping on something so cheap for a 4star resort that charges a fair bit.

We loved the friendliness of the staff and the clean and comfortable accommodation. We were upgraded to a lovely 2-bed by kind Graca at the front desk. Excellent value. We’ve stayed in Pestana hotels before and you are always guaranteed a gorgeously comfortable bed with fine sheets and everything spotless in your room. Breakfast was good (would have loved some plain Greek yogurt). The pool looked tempting (water too cold in Nov/Dec).

The location is a little out of town and the town seems a bit run down, but there’s a lovely beach (swimming only for the brave/foolhardy) and good beach cafe (O Spot) nearby as well as excellent cliff walks back towards Praia da Marinha.

The views from the V2 townhome was exceptional. The roof terrace was a lovely place to have a coffee or eat breakfast while watching the sea. The townhome had lots of space for the four of us. The kitchen and washing machine were appreciated after 5 days of hotel living. The one very nice beach is a short five minute walk down the road. Parking at the townhome was available. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was quiet and effective.

The bathrooms are dated and worn. The towels were threadbare. The pool photos online are made using a fish eye lens. The actual pool is 1.3 meters deep and relatively small. The mattresses were extremely firm to the point of causing shoulder pain. The maids did bring a foam mattress topper for me which helped some. The showers were very weak. The closer beach has been washed away by a recent storm. There can be noise from neighbors with adjacent walls.

We arrived very late without a booking, and the host made us welcome and found us an apartment room for the night at a very reasonable rate. It was shoulder season, but the pool and spa were all working and available. The restaurant also welcomed us warmly, despite the late hour, and as well as a good meal, gave us an excellent recommendation for eating locally the following day. Other guests were also welcomed warmly, and there was a strong feeling of traditional Portuguese hospitality.

We will be coming again!!!!!!! The villa was spacious and thoroughly cleaned, and the view outside was amazing. Sal & Tal, the restaurant was spectacular, two thumbs up for the guys who served the night we stayed. Accessible beach - 10 minutes on foot. You can do a very enjoyable 3-4hr coastal walk, or go into central area on foot (15min) to explore restaurants. Definitely worth the money. BOOK IF YOU NEED A NICE LEISURELY STAY.

Why two single beds... we would prefer one king or queen-sized bed instead of two beds.. Please provide those options? You have to use stairs to go to the reception. Perhaps you don't need to bring up all your luggage upstairs since you will be moving to your villa after check-in.

Located about 1km outside of town towards Beganil, Pestana Palm Gardens is a resort complex of tourist apartments. While some of the units may have impressive ocean views, the standard suites are basic one bedroom apartments with a kitchenette in the living area and no view, although I could see a sliver of ocean from the bed. The unit was clean and in good shape, built with good quality materials, but is dated with lots of light oak. The rooms are good sized and there is plenty of storage space. The unit had a good Wi-Fi connection and plenty of outlets for charging electronics. The bed, however, is just OK and the towels are the thin scratchy kind. The kitchen is fine for breakfast but didn’t have any knives for cooking other than a bread knife. The bathroom is good sized for Europe with a bath/shower combo and counter space around the sink. Amenities included a safe and hairdryer. The water is scalding hot if you are not careful. Common areas include a well maintained pool and lounge area next to the restaurant, but there are no ocean views. Parking is in front of the units. This is a fine place to stay, but I think there are better options in Carvoeiro.

Room is a bit dated. No knives for cooking in the kitchen.
