Wonderful family owned business. The hosts are very nice. Lovely and very clean rooms with everything you need. Beds were very comfortable and there was a lot of storage space in the spacious room.

Breakfast was freshly made every day it was a simple but fine offer. A greater choice of local delicious Portuguese hams, cheeses or vegetables would be a great touch. But there were always fresh fruits, tasty pancakes and other sweets available. Our balcony doors were leaking during the storm. I wish the cleaning personnel would leave us the towels there as we placed them to prevent water from getting into the room. But also we were there in March, I guess storms don't come often there

Very clean, serene, and surprisingly central property. The room was full of amenities, and breakfast hit the spot nicely with that orange loaf cake and fresh fruit. I loved discovering a chilled jar of water waiting in the minibar: a small but welcome luxury after a blisteringly hot day by the sea. And as a bonus, a resident cat also roamed the premises, adding a dash of character and charm. I decided to extend my stay at the eleventh hour, yet the gracious owners managed to accomodate me for an extra night. Altogether, a delightful retreat!

Honestly, the only thing I’d ask for would be a couple more savoury bits at breakfast. Also, heads-up if you’re arriving late: reception isn’t open all night and the doors get locked, so best to let the owners know in advance.

We had a lovely big room on the ground floor with a beautiful view from the terrace. A great shower in the bathroom and a very comfy bed, the room was spotless and cleaned daily. The breakfast is buffet style and you can ask for cooked eggs if want something like omelette. There’s a great atmosphere at Villa Welwitshia and Isabella is on hand to answer questions about the area and help guests make the most of their stay.

This property is a family run, small and pleasant place to stay. Our room was a very good size with a balcony overlooking a green space. There is good air conditioning, a separate space from the sleeping area to sit and watch TV with small fridge and a kettle. Beds were reasonably comfortable and the bathroom was small but with a reasonably good sized shower with good hot water. The room and linen was clean. The poor area was nice and the pool was clean. Breakfast had some variety and was nice enough although their coffee was from a self-serve machine that wasn’t that good. Location was excellent just a 5 minute walk down the hill to the centre of town. On site parking provided.

The bathroom was a bit ‘tired’ and unfortunately towels to match (they were thin and threadbare but were clean and replaced daily).

Extremely clean and the rooms were amazing. We had a family room we stayed in for 1 night whilst we waited for our villa to be ready the next day and its was really good. Excellent lay out and the balcony had a table and chairs and sun loungers. Breakfast we missed as we had plans to meet others but it looked great. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. It’s like a great in between from a villa to hotel as it’s smaller and more personal but still private

Exceptional place to stay. Isabella was very accommodating and professional. Went beyond in helping us with places to visit and honest advice. Easily one of the best places we have ever been through all our years of holiday. Spacious verandah and clean environment. Private parking space. Extremely spacious and clean shower and toilets. Walking distance to Carvoeiro beach, Algar Seco, clifftop broadwalks. Very very highly recommended.

Location is amazing. Close to the beaches, shops and restaurants ( all walking distance). Villa is located one block away from busy street so it’s very quiet and safe. Owner is caring and friendly. During our stay, my husband needed medical attention and she provided us medication immediately and assisted with local hospital information. Breakfast was very good too. Highly recommended!

Good location, friendly staff, reasonable price. Loved the balancony from our room on the bottom floor. If was a gated balcony so we could let the breeze in but contain our toddler. Also once he went to bed we could sit out on the balcony and look out over the valley

Slightly long walk up hill. Not really a fault of the property, just the landscape of the country

Family run, small hotel. Very friendly and helpful. Room was a good size for a family of 4, with a separate bedroom and a sofa. Our room had an outside terrace, leading on to a larger terrace (communal) but a table and chairs for us to use on both which led round to a large pool. Very good breakfast included. Close to beach, restaurants and shops but in a quiet street off main road.

Spacious room. Reasonably comfortable bed. Great pillows. Private patio to enjoy a meal outside. Staff were very kind. Poor was great.

All our food in the fridge froze, so we had to go back to the grocery store, but it was closed. The bathroom light hits you with fluorescent blindness in the middle of the night. Room needs a night light. Breakfast was disappointing; boiled egg and luncheon meat. Coffee maker adds sugar to everything; diabetic’s nightmare.
