The swimming pool was very clean and not busy even during August we were able to get sun loungers. The depth in the shallow end is 1.1m and in the deeper end is 2m it gets deep quite quickly so we stayed in the shallow bit. There was also a children's pool. The paddle tennis was very good too free hire. There was a table where we could sit down and have a break and a drink. The small restaurant near reception had drinks and crisps available, we didnt try the breakfast as we cooked in our kitchen. There were three bedrooms two single beds in two bedrooms and one double in the third. One large bathroom and a wc with a washing machine. Very spacious apartment with plenty of storage. Lovely kitchen fully equipped and easy to use and cook. The balcony had a lovely view with tables and chairs overlooking greenery and the sunset. The sofa had a pull out bed for an extra guest we used this in addition to the sofa as we didnt all fit on the sofa. Large dining table enough for all of us. Very big fridge freezer. Cleaning staff and reception staff were very friendly we had fresh towels daily and apartment was cleaned well. The grounds were very clean and well maintained. We were able to get groceries on uber eats easily as we didnt have a car. A car would be more ideal if you're looking to travel to different places.

For the paddle tennis there were gaps in the wall where the ball could go through. Location was beautiful however it was about 20minute walk to town it was a nice walk some steep roads, however was difficult when it was very hot. It is very easy to get Ubers.

Absolutely outstanding service from all of the staff at placid village. We only needed to stay on night but due to a last minute change of plans we arrived much before our check in time but were looked after right from the moment we arrived. We were able to have breakfast which you normally have to book in advance, make use of all the facilities and have our luggage stored securely. Then they had the room ready for us by 11am (normal check in 4pm). When we arrived in the apartment we could not be happier. It had absolutely everything we needed and was already cool (thank you A/C and much needed in 40° weather). We would happily return to Placid Village and are already considering it for a visit later in the year.

It was a little bit of heaven ,in a lovely quiet & peaceful location.The staff were very helpful & made us all feel very welcome. A warm smile and a friendly face when you arrive and nothing was too much trouble for the staff , so Bravo to you all in Placid Village. The apartment was well equipped with everything that you need for your stay , with a high quality finish inside. We shall be back someday.

Absolutely beautiful interior and exterior, incredibly spacious and comfortable too. The parking space was a lifesaver, too. So many amenities- a pool, field, tennis court and breakfast area. The host didn’t speak English but was incredibly patient and kind. Loved the attention to detail: They offered ground coffee rather than instant coffee or pods, which was a rare plus! Nowhere else on our vacation did we have access to fresh coffee. They gave separate pool towels, which made our stay so much more comfortable. It seems simple, but not every place we stayed at that had pools offered pool towels, and we had to keep reusing our shower towel soaked with chlorine. Loved the extra consideration.

The place was very well equipped—even a washing machine, which was a great help during a longer trip. The beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was rich with a wide variety of options. The staff was always available and incredibly helpful. There’s also a swimming pool and a tennis court on site.

It's a bit farther from downtown, but the walk there is really pleasant and mostly downhill. On the way back, we usually took a taxi.

The man on reception was super friendly and helpful. We could leave our bags and use the pool even though we arrived early and our room wasn’t ready. Our 3 bedroom apartment was really spacious and gorgeous, the beds were super comfy and it was really dark in the mornings so we all slept so well. We had a lovely view. The pool was lovely and didn’t get too busy. We also used the padel court and could borrow the rackets and balls for free, although the court was a bit broken. Carveoiro was by far the nicest town we visited in the Algarve, it was stunning, we loved the boardwalk and exploring the caves which was an easy walk from Placid Village. We also loved Praia do Marinha. Highly recommend the Thai restaurant Allegra and the Nepalese one Gurkha kitchen.

The only improvement I would suggest to the apartment would be a better table and chairs on the balcony, there were only 4 chairs out there so we had to take a dining chair out, and they were also uncomfortable. A bit more extensive menu at lunchtime would have been handy, we could only get toasties but they were really good, and you could get ice creams. I wouldn’t recommend Benagil Beach, it was such a tourist trap.

This is a lovely place to stay for families or friends. The apartments are spacious and clean. The staff is wonderful and the pool is a great place to relax and cool down. Placid village is about 20min from the town and beach, so it is slightly out of town and the walk back is up a hill. But this is great for getting some exercise in. It is totally worth staying here and we will definitely choose to go back again.

We, a party of 6, stayed 3 nights at Placid Village. Wonderful, helpful, friendly staff. Spacious and clean apartments with a good kitchen with all the utilities you would expect. Good sized pool that was never overcrowded and sunbeds always available. It's about 15 mins walk into Carvoeiro and the terrain is quite hilly. We always walked into the town and got a taxi back. A taxi costs about €5/6 for the trip. There is a supermarket 5 mins walk away which is great for a morning walk to get fresh croissants/bread etc if you don't want to use the onsite café for breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and have added Placid Village to our list of 'keepers'. Would definitely stay again. Thank you to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable 🙏

The apartments were large, clean and spacious. Very well equipped. The staff were kind and accommodating, especially when I had made an error in my booking and needed to change rooms. The manager/ owner changed us into a perfect apartment, and this happened quickly and efficiently. We were very impressed and grateful. Thank you, Placid village.

Nothing, happy with it all

Located in a nice quiet neighbourhood. The walk to the town and back was nice and very doable. Nice sunset from deck. Enjoyed the big woodwind overlooking the deck. Also liked the wide array of options for groceries nearby.

Wish there was a way to get fresh air in such as a screen on one of the windows. Pool under repair but we knew that.
