Our apartment was clean and well decorated. The sea view was amazing. Good cleaning every day, except for Sundays. The pool was nice and relaxing. The bar and restaurant had food of good quality. The kids loved the playground, it was small but funny. Location is good - a short walk to the beach, town and hiking trails (10min).

Cars drive directly to the apartment’s door, so there is a bit of traffic in the property. It is not much traffic but if you have kids, you need to watch out. There were some insects in the apartments - small ants and one big cockroach. I suppose this is the cost of being located so close to the nature. The hotel is located on the hill, so the walk to the beach and town are too difficult for small kids or seniors.

1. check in is too late - 4pm and even at 4 it was not ready; one lady from the reception was telling us in an irritated way that it is “after 4pm” so it can be any time after 4pm, I asked her to talk with the cleaning lady and ask when does she think will be ready in order for us to plan accordingly, but she said she can not do this - I was wondering if this means it can also be at 11pm?; the other lady from the reception was much nicer and she solved the issue very fast - thank you! 2. a bit of noise from the building in construction next to the hotel, but not very disturbing (at decent hours and mostly when we were away from the hotel)

We love the calm environment and the swimming. The beach close to the apartment is beautiful and very nice to spend the day. We loved the swimming area. The beds were so comfy. And the AC worked excellent. The apartment was clean and beautiful. The restaurant for dinner is really great quality. The tuna with sesame is one of the best things I have ever had. The staff was very nice. Hope to be back soon. Walking distance from the downtown (15-20 mins) and really close to the Seven Valleys hike (which I highly recommend)

If I have to say something I would say that the gym is too small and one of the closest smells of humidity and we couldn't use it.

We loved the location near a swimmable beach and a 15 minute walk to Carvoeiro beach and all the restaurants. Carvoeiro is an excellent place to enjoy the Algarv. The Pestana Palm Gardens is a bit old and tired but very clean and well maintained. The staff were fantastic, very welcoming and gave great information on checkin and for the length of our stay. The kids loved the pool but the beach, location and stunning Algarve surrounding the resort were the winners!

This is not a 4 star resort by modern standards as the villas were a bit old and tired as were some of the amenities. Still it was impeccably clean and the staff were fantastic.

There is very little not to like about Pestana Palm Gardens, everything about our trip with respect to the accommodation stay has been excellent and in most cases has surpassed expectations. There is a gym & sauna that are free to use. The pool is an excellent size and located in beautiful surroundings, albeit it was little on the chilly side with it being mid-February when we visited which I can't really hold against the provider! The on-site 'Sal & Tal' restaurant serves very nice food and the staff are very friendly and hospitable.

The only aspect I have not given a full, beaming smiley face to is the location - it is about a 20 - 25 minute walk in either direction to reach shops / restaurants and beaches with some hills / inclines to negotiate. For most young, fit and able-bodied people this obviously isn't a problem, but for older people or those with mobility problems and who haven't hired a car then this might be a factor, especially for those intending to self-cater at any point as the nearest shops / markets have very limited choice and are expensive. One other observation would be that after the cleaners' daily visit the tiled floors would seem to remain damp all afternoon / evening and never fully dry out.

The staff were friendly and prompt in response to requests. I was given an upgrade, with a lateral view of the ocean. The place was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The kitchen had everything that I needed. Early morning the sounds of little birds was a pleasure. The location is ideal and its easy to get to other towns and cities with a car. There is a beautiful small beach few minutes from here by walk. From there an interesting hiking trail along the edge of the cliffs towards a lighthouse, with beautiful views.

There was construction work going at a site nearby during the stay. It can be a disturbance in the morning hours. Since I was away during the day it wasn’t much of an issue. Except for that everything at the property was good and compensated for that.

Great and very quiet location overlooking the ocean, within walking distance to several gorgeous beaches, friendly staff including the restaurant always willing to help, nice restaurant on the property. Our villa was two-storied with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a full kitchen and washer/dryer. Our living room was gorgeous and spacious with a private backyard. Many hiking trails, Carvoeiro city center, and many other places to venture nearby.

The property is a little bit old but very nicely kept up.

It was a great property. Clean, spacious, location was excellent. Staff were great!

There was construction right behind us. We would have appreciated notice so we could make an informed decision as to book or not.

The pool was fabulous! The staff were helpful. The restaurant staff were amazing and the hardest working crew I have ever seen. They were friendly, helpful, genuinely kind and hospitable. The villa was spacious and very functional. We loved the “look” of Pestana- pretty, colorful, and we loved our garden area with ocean view. It was in walking distance to Centeanes beach, Algar Seco, and downtown Carvoeiro. It was very family friendly.

The beds were not comfortable and the villa though clean, it felt more superficial.

It was a good hotel. We got upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment which was nice. The apartment was spacious. The decor was nice and modern and had a luxurious feel to it. Even though some aspects of the unit were older. The beds were very comfortable! The pool was great, The breakfast was good too.

1. Upon arrival the bottom toilet had not been flushed (#2) so that was unpleasant. 2. I found a giant cellar spider on the bathroom towel when I was showering Both of these make me think the apartment hadn't been cleaned for some time and maybe only after the last guests stayed there.
