This was our 4th or 5th stay and on this occasion we had a comfortable suite with a seating area and TV in addition to a TV in the bedroom area though unfortunately the TV reception was poor throughout our stay. The bathroom was a very good size and it was nice having a bath plus plenty of storage space in the bedroom cupboards. Nice restaurant area though we only used it once for breakfast and dinner. Plenty of parking at the hotel. Good location for visiting Loch Lomond and taking a boat trip and also easy to take a day trip to Edinburgh from Milngavie by rail though no direct trains back in the evening so have to go via Glasgow. Easy parking in Milngavie Station Car Park if go early. Lovely walks at Mugdock Country Park nearby and around the local reservoirs.

Poor TV reception

It’s very quaint and traditional. The rooms are a good size and have a bath. The check in was easy. Car parking free and plenty of space. On site bar for drinks in the evening. Breakfast was good quality and had options for those within our party with dietary requirements.

The radiator was on during our one night stay which left the room too warm really. Had we been staying longer I’m sure the staff would have sorted this for us. Breakfast was a bit pricy for what it was. £17.50 regardless of hot food choices and we would have preferred to choose how many items we got for that price, however it was very nice.

Stunning location, cosy, homely, love all the tartan, loads of character, water is always nice and hot. Don’t know if all of the rooms have been refurbished or just a few but our room looked and felt much nicer this time than previous stays, as usual loved the luxury touches of glass bottled Scottish water, nice toiletries and reed diffuser. Love that there’s always fresh lilies in reception - they smell amazing! Staff are always lovely too.

The walls are a bit thin, floorboards squeaky and single glazed windows so certain rooms can be a little noisy sometimes.

I didn't have breakfast, however the evening meal was fantastic and in my opinion value for money, as for the service and attitude of the staff I couldn't praise them enough, I find with most hotel staff they are being nice to you because they have too, with the staff at Kirkhouse they were genuinely friendly and courteous at all times

The shower didn't seem to have enough pressure to get hot water through, although the tap water was hot, bin wasn't emptied from previous booking as it has empty coffee cups in it, this didn't bother me too much but I did question on how well the room was cleaned but it did look clean and tidy.

The location was ok for my particular requirements. The staff were bright and welcoming. I had dinner in the Italian restaurant and the pizza was exceptionally good. The the waitress was first class. Although the room was small'ish it was clean and well appointed.

I found that using the over bath shower safely was beyond my physical ability. There is no "grab rail" or handle to assist, the glass splash screen is longer than usually found and there are no anti slip precautions installed or provided by way of a mat.

Lovely country house inn set in village of Strathblane. Ample parking and great access to hotel, friendly efficient check in, room exactly as expected. Clean comfortable and excellent value. Old fashioned decor quirky and perfectly adequate.

Lost a mark from me as disappointed with my evening meal. Having read previous reviews from diners I was sad that my meal was not as good as anticipated. Restaurant staff not interested that I had a complaint basically told that's what you get.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Kirkhouse Inn. We were welcomed with open arms by a lovely young staff. The rooms was maybe a little out-dated but that didn't make it less cosy. The first evening we have stayed for Dinner which was very lovely! After this we have enjoyed a Euro football match in the bar of the Inn. We had a lovely time meeting some locals. The staff was always open for a little chat which gave the stay a nice extra.

The beds are a little smaller than a standard bed that we are used to It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room

The staff were friendly, informative and helpful. The food was delicious. The setting was perfect for us with only a short distance to visit family.

Just a couple of things: For us, the mattress was too firm, so it made our sleep a little uncomfortable. The drainage in the sink and bath really needs to be unblocked as the emptying of both is very slow. We did think that New Year's Eve was going to be a little more organized and traditional, but, alas, it wasn't.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful,both at check in and in the restaurant area. The building has a fantastic atmosphere and is full of character. Food was delicious!

We didn't dislike anything. In future,I would probably ask that the heating be turned down in our room before we check in as even after we turned the radiator off,it was still quite hot. It was a humid night though. If staff could possibly check that there's at least a couple of loo rolls in the bathroom too,that would be good (unless they were hiding somewhere and we just couldn't find them!)but we have no major gripes at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay :)

This property was a rarity in that it’s better in person than in pictures; the decor is beautiful throughout, our room was very elegant & the reception areas very really warm, inviting & chic. Bed was lovely & comfortable, nice warm room with a good breeze with the window open, spacious enough to be comfortable & within great, easy driving distance from Loch Lomond as well as the amenities of Milngavie/Glasgow central. Parking was ample too!

Could do with a hair dryer in the room, otherwise all was great!
