Most hotels and cabins on cruise ships use quilts on their beds. My husband and I cannot sleep under a quilt, they get too hot, then when you throw them off you get too cold, there is no comfortable in-between. The Windsor has the old fashioned blanket and bedspread, making it easier to moderate your comfort and get a better nights sleep.

The only hiccup in our stay was that they had didn't have the salad that I ordered off the menu, which really isn't that big of a deal, they had plenty of other things to choose from.

Checking in The young lady Checking us in seemed as though she was new and not sure on the whole process. Senior staff were very slow to offer her help Parents need to be held accountable for their children in the playground aswell and not use it as a baby sitting service. Might need to drop the allowed age limit to stop teenagers over running and bully little kids, climbing on the very top of the play equipment and climbing in and out of the playground into the carpark All things that are easily fixed Besides that it was a great spot

The room and facilities were giod

The website says booking in up to 12am when I pre booked our room. We arrived around 10.30pm and found the place locked up. We saw there was a staff member still there and got his attention. We were told to go to another door and were let in. The man explained we were lucky as he would normally have gone home by then as they had closed at 10pm and he was there only because he had some extra work to do. . I would suggest that the details are amended to perhaps 9.30pm as the latest you can book in for any future late arrivals.

Smooth booking process preceded by phone call to the Hotel to check on some questions related to our reason for staying there. Very helpful information provided then. When we arrived, we were smoothly booked in with the marvellous Ellie who made us feel very welcome. After telling her our plans, she kindly offered the courtesy bus which we actually really needed. Thank you to Jackson for being a top driver, helpful and on time! All bar staff were great too. The room was very comfortable and lovely and quiet. The area is also very safe.

That food was great, each serve was sufficient and tasty but no breakfast. The bed was comfortable as was the pillows. The housekeeping staff were helpful as to were the catering & bar staff. We were booked in to a ground floor room which was great. The venue was 2 stories no lift.

What was not good was the slippery tiles in the bathroom. Also they didn't have a special needs facility, not a shower chair or non slip mat.We had to borrow them as both my friend & I have special needs. Also NO Microwave oven was so suprising.

Everything was outstanding.

The hot water, there was no hot water for a shower on some nights, & it made a shocking loud noise when u had a hot shower, not just our shower, but u could hear other people making a noise as well.

The Windsor Castle has friendly staff, clean quiet rooms and everything at your doorstep. You can have a great value meal at the bistro and then take an easy safe walk back to your room. You wouldn’t even think you were staying at a pub the rooms are so quiet. We didn’t hear a thing once we were back in our room.

There is nothing not to like. We have stayed more than once and will call back again.

Convenient location, lovely room, has tea and coffee, a hair dryer. Accomodation attached to the bistro. Childrens play area located off the main dining area, variety of food on the menu & most importantly- live music was playing in the bistro of the Friday night & in our room there was NO disturbance from this! For the price of this hotel, what is offered is exceptional. I have stayed in many of places with higher prices that have not provided anywhere near the experience we have had at the Windsor castle! Absolutely perfect for those on a budget!

The pillows! Instead of one THICK and rock hard pillow in each pillow case, I highly recommend two seperate pillows that are much thinner, placed inside each pillow case together- providing the ability to customise the pillows to a thinner or thicker volume.

Very well presented. Exceptional staff - prepared to got ‘that extra mile’ to be helpful. Neat and tidy, clean and well presented room. Clean and well appointed bathroom. The beer garden was a great space with a welcome (for me) integrated smoking area not segregated as it is in so many other places. I’ll certainly be returning… and recommending to others

Hotel was excellent in every way and it was in a prime location of Maitland but there is a glitch the way booking.com show us a property for the place we want to go. For example, this place was showing up in the top 5 hotels when I was searching for a property in hunter valley. I was very specific that I wanted a hotel in hunter valley. Technically this place shouldn’t have come because it was 40 min drive away from there. We had our own car and we loved driving but honestly, this is a misleading search result. There was nothing wrong in this property and after we reached there we realised that all the places that we wanted to visit were an hour drive away … Hence I wish to give a 10/10 for this place but I want to give a 5/10 to the booking.com search engine for presenting those properties which are far far away from the destiny!!
