Certainly one of the absolute top hotel experiences my wife and I have ever had. In the heart of Porto at a vibrant little plaza, this family-owned hotel has an upscale, personal bed & breakfast vibe. The building is from the 16th century, but it comes with all modern amenities including an elevator. The staff, including the owner's son, were always absolutely approachable and cared for our needs. Our room was stunning with the original ceiling, exactly as described, a modern bathroom with a rain shower, the most comfortable bed, and high-quality linens. While the bars and restaurants at the plaza were busy late into the night, the double windows provided excellent noise reduction. I slept like a baby even though i am very noise sensitive. The hotel offers vouchers for reduced fees at a nearby garage. Staying at this place, you can explore the old Porto conveniently by foot. We will dream about this hotel experience for a very very long time

Nothing really. However, if you come with a rental car, one should notice that the hotel is located on a pedestrian-only plaza in the heart of the city. Getting there means driving through some busy small streets. You can park your car some 100 feet away to unload your car and then get to the garage.

Spectacular building in a perfect location. The interior is gorgeous, everything is beautiful and you feel welcome as soon as you enter. Our bedroom was number 1 with an amazing view over the square and with a full width balcony it was fabulous to stand with a glass of wine and watch the world go by. There was music in the evenings in the square but it finished at 10pm so we were not disturbed. The room itself was enormous with a carved wooden ceiling that made it really special and the bed was super comfortable.

There were no facilities in the room to make a drink. I was provided with. kettle on request and fortunately I had packed tea bags and we didn't need milk or sugar. Coffee was available on request from reception with a charge. Breakfast was OK. Nice bread and yoghurt with honey. Fresh fruit platter variable with banana slices going brown as prepared in advance. I would have liked a small buffet of cereals, fruit and bakery products.

We rented the Suite with city view /3rd floor which was beautiful! The street outside can be noisy but windows can hold most of it. The entry area/bar/reception was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We met 3 staff during our stay, all of them very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Good and flexible a-la-carte breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay!

The balcony doesnt deserve its name as it is only as wide as your feet. You need to book another room if you like to sit on a balcony. We did not mind it, but the toilet only has a barely tinted glas door which hardly keeps noise indoor. Could be irritating for sensitive couples/friends...

Beautiful, historic building with carefully curated antique decor. Fully updated infrastructure (great plumbing, etc.). Family-run, with warm staff who will give you personal attention and help you customize your visit. Delicious breakfast (especially the homemade bread and jam). We had a huge, comfy king-sized bed and window overlooking the garden, with a 17c painted tile wall. Ideal location, in the middle of the historic area, but completely quiet (our room was in the rear). We would definitely stay there again!

Nothing.

We had the most fantastic stay, we stayed in room no.2, it is beautifully decorated, our room so spacious and the bed is like sleeping on a cloud! The shower was amazing. We also had a private terrace, which was amazing! The staff at the hotel are so, so nice and extremely attentive. Breakfast each morning was so nice, fresh and plentiful. We will definitely return again, the hospitality at this hotel is second to none, thank you again for making our stay so special!

The location was fantastic for the old city attractions and restaurants and bars. Breakfast was always prepared at whatever time was requested and cooked fresh. Wonderfully helpful staff and spotlessly clean.

Nothing to do with the hotel, but as any city break I always take ear plugs and needed them during this visit due to loud musical buskers which seem to plague Porto. That said they finish at 10.00pm so not so bad.

The stay at the hotel was wonderful - the attic room has a great view of the historic part of the city. The interior design is really great. The smell throughout the hotel was very pleasant. Thank you for your hospitality.

Breakfast - it would be good to improve the variety of offer, f.ex. more regional cheese, simple toast, some fresh vegetables, and the variety of fruit served (sometimes it was too cold). Service - great people, but it seems to me that at breakfast time one person has too many things to do. Lighting in the room - the bulbs next to the bed gave too bright white lighting which spoilt the atmosphere of a great room with a beautiful view a little.

Perfection. Maison Particulière is a jewel in Porto's crown. Elegant and charming with the most attentive staff who were so friendly and helpful. The moment we were greeted at the front door we knew we were going to be staying somewhere special. The interior is filled with antique furniture and the attention to detail is sublime. Our room was spacious and comfortable with all the modern amenities. We chose the one with the inner courtyard which was quiet and private. Breakfast, which is included in the room price is tailor made daily to individual preference and is delicious. The hotel fronts onto a small pedestrian square where there are several very good restaurants and further up the street many boutiques. It is perfectly situated for exploring the delights of Porto. Our sincere thanks to the family run team at Maison Particulière for making our four night stay so memorable. We look forward to visiting you again. ❤️

We couldn’t fault it…

Absolutely stunning, very well appointed and a perfect location for walking to the river and seeing the sites. Our room had a balcony and had beautiful views ... and even though it faced the busy street it was quiet . Honestly , this place is first rate. Marco greeted us and was extremely helpful at every interaction .

TBH, it had a slightly funny smell in the lobby ... not sure what that was about . I have an extremely sensitive nose though . It wasn't awful ... just not a yummy smell .

Location is very good, with lots of restaurants in a short walking distance. Receptionists were very helpful eg booking a restaurant and arranging an airport taxi with baby seat. The bar in the sitting room is great. We stayed in room 2 with the private terrace. The building itself is beautiful and our room was lovely.

Our only suggestion would be a high chair for the breakfast room (cot beds are provided).
