The hotel is in a former abbey, which really shows in the carefuly preserved architectural elements. At the same time, the hotel is warm, clean and modern - but in a style mixing the elements of Venetian architecture and style with a bit of rustic touch. Staff was extremely friendly in general, but I must emphasize how helpful they were in explaining how to travel around with vaporettos to allow us to see the neighbouring islands in a very limited time. Breakfast was superb and delicious.

The doors between the bedrooms in our suite were barn doors, which do not go "full up" to the ceiling - there is thus a ca. 30 cm high window betwene the rooms just below the ceiling. For our stay (with parents in one and a 5YO son in another), this did not present any kind of an issue. But I wouldn't like it if there were several adults (non-family) staying in the same suite.

All was perfect. Hotel is just 1 minute far walking from train station. At just meters of Venezia great channel so it is very confortable to walk Venezia starting there. Room was great, Venetian style furnished, clean, beds are very good. Great and very complete breakfast. Hotel has also a "touch" cause it used to be an "abazzia". But it wouldn't be fare if I don't mention the staff: warm reception, very friendly and helpful, great sense of humor. They clearly enjoy their job. And of course, as I said to them, THEY DO THE DIFERENCE! Lucky hotel for having them! We remember our stay in Venezia with joy. I strongly recommend Hotel Abazzia.

Very close to rail and bus stations. Some beautiful authentic features from when the hotel was a monastery eg pulpit in lounge. Excellent continental breakfast, lots of choice.

Some common areas were tired and in need of decoration eg lift. Needs better pillows, not supportive. Bathrooms need attention. Stained toilet bowl, warped seal on shower doors, lots of limescale. No kettle in room, no beverages, not even a glass. No room service.

The breakfast was outstanding every morning. It had everything and more that you could want to eat. The staff was super accommodating for us when we had to eat quickly and hurry to the train station. In fact, all the staff were great and very helpful throughout our stay. We liked that the hotel was so close to the bus and train stations, as well as the vaporetto stops. It made things very easy both arriving and departing Venice, as well as getting around the city and to Murano/Burano. Since it is on a side street, it was also much quieter than being on the main thoroughfares. It was easy to find the hotel. For my 80-year old parents, it had an elevator which made things easy for them to get to their room. The beds were comfortable - no complaints. The bathrooms were modern and clean. We would definitely stay again.

The only mirror in our room was in the bathroom which made getting ready in the mornings and putting on make-up challenging since we were in a triple. Also, there is no A/C so the windows open to let in the air and cool the rooms. This did not affect us on our trip in April, and we were quite comfortable, but I could see it might be an issue in the warmer months.

The decor of the room was very vibrant, very modern and pleasing. The room was decorated to a very high standard, especially for a 3 star hotel. Three separate areas for sitting (with 4 person settee and 2 good armchairs), for the bathroom and the third for the bedroom made the room very spacious and comfortable. It was certainly amongst the best rooms we have been in, and the best for a 3 star hotel.

Our sole criticism of the room was the inability to make a hot drink.A simple kettle would have been very welcome for making tea, coffee etc.

The location is very good, it's near to train station and major ferry station. Many restaurants around too. Given the building was 100 year+ old, it's considered very well maintained. Our room comes with two toilets, one at each level. Staff were friendly, greeted us warmly and gave us very clear explanation. It's very good value for money, for its execellent location and inclusive of breakfast. Breakfast was good too.

There's no elevator, you have to request the staff to help carry luggage. We are not used to asking people to help with luggage, and not sure if tipping is required. Our room got 2 levels, 3 beds at the attic and one at the lower floor. This was rather inconvenient because none was willing to split to sleep in the lower floor alone. Not able to control the room temperature easily to the right level. But all in all, still a great place to stay in Venice.

It’s a pretty hotel with gorgeous decorations. It’s nearby the train station, despite that we didn’t have any issues with loud noises from travelers. We booked a superior double room and it was a wonderful place. It was cozy, everything we needed was present. The bathroom was clean and the shower was spacious. The bed was sturdy, but comfortable. This was my first time traveling alone, I was meeting a friend in Venice but I arrived first at the hotel. I was quite nervous as this was my first time having booked a hotel. It’s safe to say that the staff were very kind and made me feel at ease. Checking in was a breeze and the man at the reception was sweet! The breakfast provided was good, with a nice variety of different foods! Overall a really enjoyable stay. Thank you for such a pleasant vacation.

The only thing I’d have to note is a minor detail; the fairly loud bells that go off around 7 in the morning. After all the hotel used to be a monastery. Truthfully though I wasn’t too bothered by it. It didn’t matter much to be, as aside from that the hotel had been really peaceful and quiet.

Choosing a hotel for our first stay in Venice was a difficult choice, there were so many to choose from, but we definitely made the right decision. The location, just around the corner from the train station, was perfect as it meant we didn’t have far to go with our luggage. Every single member of staff we came across during our stay were friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgable regarding any questions we had about getting around in the city. The Hotel itself felt very grand, whilst retaining the history of the building. We had looked at images when booking, but we were actually speechless when we saw it with our own eyes. The communal areas were stunning and well maintained. The breakfast had a large selection of food to suit everyone. The room had everything we needed and was perfect. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you Team Abazzia for making our stay in Venice unforgettable.

Nothing.

The location was perfect for us, just a couple of minutes from Venice Santa Lucia train station! The staff absolutely adorable, very friendly and extremely helpful, made us feel immediately at home. The building is wonderful as it used to be an old abbey, it has retained that charming history reflected inside. The room was very nice and very quiet! We slept beautifully and breakfast was a very nice spread! Orange juice is a part, 6 Euro for a glass. There is also a nice little garden/patio, perfect for eating outside in warm weather.
