The location and staff were excellent! The restaurant staff also excellent! Nice pool with garden and room size and cleaning were great.

However, there were four things that disappointed me: 1) the room had no air conditioning and It was one of those rooms at the top , very hot 2) very noisy during the night. You can hear the cars (the hotel is located in a main road) and people screaming (night life) 3) there was no mini fridge, although the staff kindly offered a bucket with ice, not very convenient 4) the bed was uncomfortable, very hot, i could feel lots of lumps in the mattress

2nd time we have stayed here in the last 3 years, its a fantastic family run hotel, a short bus ride from the centre of Luzern, but you get free public transport with your stay here, bus stop is directly outside hotel and buses are every 10 or 15 mins depending on time of day. Staff are exceptional, very friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast is of very high quality and plentiful. The hotel is the cleanest we have ever stayed in, the rooms are large and many have great views over the lake and mountains, well worth asking for an upgrade when booking to make sure you get a view, and not an expensive upgrade either! They also have a very good restaurant at the hotel which produces the best food we have ever eaten. All in all we cant recommend this hotel highly enough it is just a superb hotel to relax and use as a base to travel locally from.

Absolutely nothing, its just superb!

A small car- ot bus ride (free public transport ticket!) from Lucern, hotel Balm was a very nice place to stay for the two nights we were there. Comfy beds, great breakfast (with a view), free parking with charging option gor our electric car not two minutes away. Very nice restaurant (you can choose between fancy and bistro menu) and very helpful and friendly staff who brought us drinks at the poolside.

Room was a bit hot, with only a (very powerful) fan, and streetside room was not ideal for opening the window. But: earplugs helped and bed was very nice.

Convenient and beautiful location, clean and comfortable rooms, a welcoming atmosphere, and a tasty breakfast (I especially recommend trying their homemade bircher muesli). Overall it was an amazing stay and I can 100% recommend this hotel for all your visits to Luzern.

In the morning, with open windows, we could hear a bell from a nearby church. I think it was around 7:30 or 8:00, so nothing that would ruin the good night's sleep. Moreover, considering how the hotel is located, I think only a few rooms are affected. But still, a point to consider if you are sensitive and like to sleep in.

The property is a beautiful older hotel that looks recently renovated with nicely appointed rooms. We had an adjoining room to our kids with a nice patio overlooking the lake. The hotel breakfast is amazing, ample, and delicious - way nicer than a US style hotel breakfast. The hotel also provided our family of five with bus passes into the city of Lucerne with a bus stop directly outside the hotel. The staff were very welcoming, accommodating and kind. We would happily stay again and will definitely recommend this to anyone traveling to the area of Lucerne.

There was nothing negative about our stay.

Great breakfast with 5 different types of breads/ croissants, cold meats and cheese, yummy raspberry muesli, fresh fruit, Mörenkopf sweet, OJ, kindly still served despite late start to the day, meaning we arrived at the end of their breakfast time but after checking with the chef, they still allowed us to eat, which was most appreciated. The two main managers were very efficient and worked well with their team, especially the male manager, who was also very friendly and welcoming with a smile. The room was comfortable and spacious. Free carpark appreciated with possibility of free transport into the city with public transport with times given. Given water bottles at check out for traveling on. 2 room unit.

Room on second floor, no lift.

Staying here was truly a memorable experience, made even better by the outstanding staff who went above and beyond to accommodate us. I was in Lucerne to compete in the Swiss City Marathon, and they graciously prepared an early breakfast to fit my race schedule. Edith at reception was incredibly thoughtful, taking time to calm my nerves and ensuring I had everything I needed for the big day. It was the kind of personal touch that’s rare to find and so appreciated. The hotel’s onsite restaurant and Bistro were constantly buzzing with patrons, a clear indication of their popularity. Although we didn’t get a chance to dine in this time, we’ll definitely be trying them on our next visit. With service and atmosphere this exceptional, we wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else in Lucerne!

A very comfortable hotel with amazing views if you get a room overlooking Lake Luzern. Very clean and spacious room. Nice to have car park easily available. The swimming pool looked great for warmer days. A shame the restaurant was closed the night we stayed but as a last minute booking we were very happy.

Disappointing that we asked for a couple of tea bags to make a cup of tea in our room amd we're told we would need to pay for them. At this price point complementary in room tea/coffee should be available.

The room was like new because recently renovated. Very nice shower, the heaters worked well. We arrived at night and wet from the rain so it was really nice having a warm shower and relaxing evening in-room. Great surprise in the morning with the view of the lake and the goats in the beautiful green garden in the back yard. Bed was comfy and the linen very clean with a good smell, too. Lots of TV channels, perfect for our lazy time. Breakfast was good, not a lot of choices but good quality products, enough to get you started for the day!

We mentioned that we will arrive at 8-9pm as we took a last minute road trip. We arrived at 9.12pm and were reminded that checkin is until 9pm... Well, sorry about that lol. We weren't able to order a drink or snacks/food at the bar and restaurant because it apparently closed at 9pm, however the host just served a last round to a table that was seating there when we walked in. No toothpaste nor slippers nor bathrobes provided. Not an issue for us but that would normally be the minimum expected.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was quite spacious and very comfortable, providing a relaxing environment to unwind after a long day. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful; they even recommended some local attractions around the area which enhanced my experience.

One small improvement that could make the stay even better would be the provision of a kettle in the room. Having the ability to make a warm drink would add convenience for guests looking to enjoy a tea or coffee in their rooms.
