Great location. Owner/host - Pat was a great host. Breakfast options were amazing including organic eggs from his hens and home made bread. Room was well equipped. Loved everything about this stay. Thanks Pat & to his staff.

Nothing - all was amazing.

I arrived a bit early due to the rain, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. A polite older gentleman greeted me at the door, quickly confirmed my details, and directed me to my room. The privacy and security systems worked perfectly, which made me feel very comfortable during my stay. The staff were consistently helpful and kind, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout. And in the morning, l enjoyed a delicious full Irish breakfast before heading out. Everything was hassle-free from start to finish. Overall, a great experience and it felt good supporting a local family business for a change.

Fanad House is a really nice guest house, perfectly located just two minutes away from Kilkenny's Castle park (there is a entrance really close)! The whole place looked a lot better than Booking's pictures, which seem to be pretty old. We had a really nice room with very comfortable beds and complimentary tea and milk. :) The bathroom was a bit small but nice with a bathtub, lots of towels and complimentary hygiene products. Breakfast was amazing! Full of different choices: cereals, fruits, yogurts, cheese, ham, bread, etc. and Pat will cook a very nice and filling full Irish breakfast, if you want. :) And we felt really confortable with the baby chair for our little girl. Thanks you so much Pat, for your lovely welcome and this beautiful night at your guest house.

The heating in the bathroom can get really boiling: I burnt myself twice, so you have to very careful with it, especially with kids. We had to turn it off, so that our daughter wouldn't get burnt. Maybe it just needs a bit of fixing? :) Also, when we used the bathtub, the water from the bottom tap would come out kind of yellow and foggy. So we had to fill the bathtub with the top tap. But in spite of that, we still had a very lovely stay!

The shower & room size were excellent. Location was really good. Nice place. Pretty outside. Great parking spots for guests. Kilkenny is a great place & good size. Very walkable.

The host woman was a bit abrupt. Didn't speak English very well. I gave up trying to keep our breakfast specific ( so we wouldn't waste the things we wouldn't eat). It was really Hot outside. And we had to make due with 1 fan setup in the window to cool it off. Strange thing to deal with in Ireland. Bed and breakfast places aren't ready for heatwaves.

We had a good check-in. Our room was clean and on the ground level. Room 11. Beautifully decorated. However, the bed was either broken or the mattress was warped. We actually slept on the opposite end of the bed so our heads were elevated. No, we did not ask to be moved as they were fully booked. Obviously, we did not get a good night's rest/sleep. We did enjoy a delicious Irish breakfast in their dining room.

Mattress needs to be replaced in Room 11.

Fanad House was excellent. The location is perfect, very close to Dublin Castle and quick walk downtown. Free parking and plenty of space was terrific as our experience in Ireland and UK has been that parking is often quite difficult. Room was very well appointed, with lovely large bathroom. Breakfast was terrific and on par with expectations. Staff are friendly. Highly recommend Fanad House for travellers to Kilkenny.

Pat was great. We got in early to leave our bags and he had a room that was cleaned so we checked in. He went over a map he provided detailing where places were. His recommendation for dinner with music was excellent. Best of all was the breakfast. The cook came out to get a cup of coffee, it was Pat. Thank you Pat. We’ll come again!

Fanad House is superbly located on the edge of Kilkenny just a few minutes walk from the castle, town center, the cathedral and theriverfront park. The host is a bit of a curmudgeon but if you let a bit of sourness roll off, the rest of the staff is lovely including a lovely Ukrainian breakfast server named Natalya. The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable, and breakfast was plentiful, tasty, and cooked to order. It was easily accessible with plenty of parking, and we were offered early check-in. We can recommend this as a good alternative for a stay in Kilkenny.

Breakfast was very good great choice of fruits and yoghurt very nice fry up as well. The dining room was very comfortable and the lady on duty was very pleasant

The only improvement I could recommend would be the shower the water took a good while to heat up.

Breakfast was just fantastic, there was plenty of food to choose from. Staff were friendly and very happy to help. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet.

The only thing we found could maybe be looked at is the parking. While there was plenty of spaces the further away spaces from the front door were quite tight to get in and out of. There was very little room to manoeuvre......
