The rooms were great. The employees were extremely polite and welcoming. With Traveling alone getting solo tours could be tricky. Mr Tash who worked at the activities desk was extremely helpful, he went above and beyond to make sure all my tours went smoothly. He was very knowledgeable about the culture and answered all the millions of questions I had. Arriving at the airport I didn't have a ride to the hotel ( I forgot to arrange airport transfer). Shearwater always has someone at the airport even though I didn't book airport transfer and didn't have enough cash on me after finding out i was going to Shearwater Kevin was very helpful. He sat down and waited with me until the driver he had arranged from Shearwater picked me up. He made me feel extremely safe and comfortable despite being alone in a foreign country. The employees were very interesting, knowledgeable and polite. The food was great. The night manager even went out of her way to make sure I had something to eat despite the kitchen being closed. I was very grateful. They answered all my questions and were very patient. My heart is so full I learned so much from them. Being a solo traveler my guard is always up but I felt very safe here. I will definitely recommend Shearwater to anyone who wants to visit Victoria Falls.

he location is perfect, just a 15-minute walk from the falls, making it easy to visit this incredible natural wonder whenever we wanted. The resort itself was fantastic, with comfortable accommodations and a relaxing atmosphere. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff—everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always eager to assist with anything we needed. The resort is also conveniently located near some amazing shops, which made it easy to explore local crafts, souvenirs, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the area. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Victoria Falls!

The place was incredibly efficient. There was never a guest left unattended, a cushion or chair that wasn't put back in place immediately after use etc. Food was good and staff just amazing. Whole place was clean and they paid special attention to spraying the rooms and pulling down the mosiquito nets over the beds each early evening. Gardens and general outdoor area absolutely perfectly attended to. Elephants strolling along the fence that borders the Village is an added bonus.

Very much geared for large overseas travel groups, but this didn't interfere with solo travelers like ourselves. It was lovely to see how well the tourists are looked after. Just took a bit of getting used to being with these large groups all the time in the common areas.

We enjoyed Shearwater and everything it offered. The staff were great, and they were quick to help if you needed something. The breakfast was yummy, and the choices were ample. The restaurant was also lovely, and we enjoyed spending most of our time there to wind down and relax.

We were a little disappointed in the room layout as we expected the pool to be in front of the room as in the pictures. We felt that the advert and pictures were a little misleading and as we prepared to have our own pool, we were a little disappointed. It was also challenging to walk out and be haggled by sellers all the time on the way to other restaurants or the town. This became a cumbersome and costly exercise, as we chose to take taxis out, only to learn that the two would haggle for more money.

Rooms were a bit small. Not great for Solo travels wanting to do excursions. They charge double

We had the most incredible 3-night stay at Shearwater and it was absolutely UNBELIEVABLE! From start to finish, the experience exceeded all our expectations. The staff were outstanding—always friendly, incredibly accommodating, and always ready to assist with a smile. The cleanliness of the property was top-notch, and the service was impeccable. We were even picked up from the airport, and the staff took the time to explain everything clearly, ensuring we felt completely at ease. The location couldn’t be more ideal, just a stone's throw away from Victoria Falls (400m walk) making it perfect for exploring the area. It was the perfect base for our adventures, yet still felt peaceful and serene. We would highly recommend Shearwater to anyone visiting Victoria Falls and can confidently say it deserves a 10/10 for cleanliness, service, and overall facilities. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Great location, walkable to Victoria Falls restaurants and shops. The tour desk offers various activities and airport transfers, we enjoyed the guided tour of the falls and sunset cruise. The hotel also kept our 2 luggage bags in their store room while we were on a 3-night stay at a lodge in Hwange National Park. Dinner was great with large sharable portions.

Busy hotel catering to large groups. Breakfast service can be slower during peak times. Hot breakfast menu options should be placed on each table so that servers can take accurate orders from guests.

Best location in town near falls and bars and restaurants. Excellent and friendly staff

For the price they charge, at least a fridge in the room. Stayed 5 nights and breakfast exactly the same everyday. Expensive shared transfers from/to airport. If you are 2 persons , you can get a taxi much cheaper $30 than their shuttle @$23 per person. Charging 3 pct for credit card payment. Other restaurants outside don’t have surcharge

The location is good. Everything in walking distance. The rooms had been quite nice. We were lucky that there had been not many guests, so we did not have neighbours on both sides. Otherwise it would have been quite narrow.

Poor value for money. For that price they don't even have a fridge in the room. Our mosquito net hat a 1 meter long hole. Breakfast is basic and staff in the restaurant lazy.

Beautiful facility in the vicinity of the falls. Beautiful decor. Great atmosphere. It's set in a beautiful garden. With an outdoor bonfire. You can see animals coming to drink at the pond behind the property. The staff at the restaurant is just amazing. They were the best part of the lodge. Food was tasty The performance of the local dancers/singers was great Overall, it was a very tastefully designed property with great, super friendly staff

Though the property is really beautiful, as well as the rooms. The bathroom needs either deep cleaning or maintenance. The towels were worn out, and they had holes and greyish colour. The noise from the helicopters has been loud since around 7:40ish till the evening
