Quite an old fashioned feel but pleasantly so. Food was very good and was good value.

Nothing really. One issue I was a little disappointed in was the supply of only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel to share. I understand the need to minimise waste and unnecessary washing but other hotels I have stayed in seem to manage and provide individual towels for each guest. Similarly, only one pack of biscuits left with the welcome pack whilst other hotels leave one for each guest. These are very minor points. I would definitely return if I needed to stay in the area again.

Stayed here over night as was going to alton towers in the morning, and they didn't fail to disappoint. Staff were lovely and friendly, food was delicious, had an evening meal and breakfast. Rooms were comfy and a nice beer garden where we sat in the sun for a well deserved drink after a 3.5 hour trip. Definitely would stay again. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable!!

Everything was great my only complaint,which isn't really a complaint, more of a passing comment was that I had poached eggs on toast, which were cooked to perfection,but 2 poached eggs and only 1 piece of toast, so half a slice per egg wasn't really sufficient. But other than that minor thing, absolutely no complaints.

Had an excellent twin room, which was a really good size and nice and clean with a lovely walk in shower. It provided a very good base for a two night stay whilst staying in the area. The breakfast was very good with a wide variety of choice. The evening menu also provided a wide variety of choice and all meals were nice and hot and of good value. The roast meals looked excellent. All members of staff were very warm and welcoming and made you feel that nothing was too much trouble. Lovely outside areas to sit in as well.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, large rooms everything you need. Room decoration needs a little updating but didn’t affect our stay. Beds are comfy and big. Floors are very creaky, it’s an old building but I feel sorry for the rooms on ground floor underneath, we were on the 1st floor. Breakfast was very nice but only the basics would be nice to add hash browns and black pudding. On the whole we had a very nice stay and would stay again, we have stayed here twice before years ago and was exactly the same as it was then.

Basic breakfast which if you didn’t add on the room was £12 each. Needs hash browns, black pudding maybe a choice of tomatoes instead of beans. Although what we had was hot and freshly cooked and tasted very nice

Fantastic staff, so welcoming. Restaurant staff brilliant, and the food was delicious. King deluxe bedroom very comfortable, fresh and clean.

I was surprised that the bathroom was so dated, especially for a ‘deluxe’ room, and when the bedroom is so modern. The hairdryer is also very dated and gets very hot when used for a usual amount of time. I wonder if a quick win would be to provide a normal hairdryer, and in the medium term consider renovating the bathroom.

The Boars Head is in a great location, off the main road with lovely views. It has a big tarmac car park (great for us on motorbikes)! The room was large, very clean and comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space and a big bed. The en suite was clean with nice fluffy towels. The menu had a good selection of meals and the food was delicious and hot. Breakfast was just as lovely. All the staff were very friendly and we would definitely stay here again. Very good value for money and very happy to recommend The Boars Head to anyone! Thank you for a great stay!

Very well presented with plenty of parking. Room was very nice and had the walk-in shower we had requested. It was rather warm but the fact it faced the sun over the afternoon is hardly the fault of the hotel. Evening meal was simply delicious with very professional staff - good menu with plenty of options. Breakfast was served to the table which was a lovely touch - more often than not these days it is semi buffet and served so a little luxury really. Decor, comfort, food - all excellent.

Water in the shower was a lttle sketchy temperature wise at bedtime - I know the room had very recently been revamped and expect this simply a small teething problem. In the morning it was perfect so the staff had obviously dealt with any issues overnight - another example of their great work ethic.

The staff were really welcoming and friendly in the reception, bar and restaurant. The evening meal we had was superb and we had a great time with our friends! Our room was very spacious and we had a huge bed. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are in the area.

There was a lot of noise in the bedroom from the water system which seemed to take a long time to clear.

Good location for uttoxeter, which is where I was visiting Plenty of parking, and everything you need in one place. Lots of choice for breakfast and a nice bar area for the evening.

We were given a late access code for returning at night. We struggled with that as I can only presume someone beforehand had messed it up. If we hadn't of worked it out, we didn't have any out of hours contact numbers for emergencies. We weren't that late...around 11.30pm. Apart from that, a brilliant place to stay, and I do when visiting family in uttoxeter

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel provided a walk-in shower which we requested. Food, both breakfast and dinner, was excellent. For dinner we had an excellent choice of classic and more adventurous dishes. My wife's dietary requirements was also very well catered for. The room looked like it had been recently decorated and was very comfortable. Pleasant simple grounds to stroll in, and good parking. We will definitely stay again.
