Full English breakfast was excellent. Bed and room very comfortable with windows that open for fresh air which is something quite rare in many hotels. The staff are very helpful, friendly and professional. Thanks for a comfortable stay.

There is nothing we didn't like although probably a lick of paint in the bedroom and bathroom would be good. There is a bit of traffic noise but we accept it because of the location and a small hotel car park. For the continental breakfast I would recommend adding some cheese and fruit and natural yoghurt to the menu for a true continental breakfast.

Great location for me and I like the upgraded rooms. Lots of coathangers in the wardrobe too. Lovely new towels and changed every day. The staff are always courteous and helpful. For me, being very hard of hearing, I so appreciate how easy it is to access the subtitles on the TV, not always great in other hotels. Thank you.

The continental breakfast was a bit basic but adequate. The bed was a rather too firm for my liking and the pillows slightly lumpy.

Quite a big room, with modern bathroom and nice powerful shower. As mentioned by other reviews, it is sometimes necessary to close the blinds to get privacy from the cars parked in front of window, but this didn't disturb us as we expected it. Not that busy anyway, and unless people come right close to window, they wouldn't see much inside anyway. Nice big restaurant/pub for breakfast, with tables outside, beer garden-style. Away from main road, so nice to sit outside. Good for one or two nights.

Very early "morning wake-up call" in the form of a fire alarm at 6:30am! Not the hotel fault though and proof their fire alarm works well!

Clean and comfortable rooms in a semi rural location on the edge of Derby, close to the A38 and a fifteen minute drive from the town centre. An excellent bar and restaurant. Continental breakfast, with cooked breakfast options at the weekend. Staff are friendly and helpful. An excellent carvery on a Sunday.

Can occasionally be a little noisy late on a Saturday as it is also hosts parties.

I booked this as I was attending a local event with a friend and just needed good basic accommodation for the night at a good price. For what I paid I was expecting just that, but the hotel was way above that. Good rooms, clean, basic but with modern ensuite shower (excellent), flat screen TV and wi-fi. The staff were very friendly and there was a generous continental breakfast. A full cooked breakfast was available, but we didn't book that. The location for us was excellent and despite being on the main road, there was no noise disturbance. There was a good bar, but we didn't try the restaurant as we ate at the event we were attending. The hotel is obviously very popular with nice sitting out areas which were very busy as the weather was excellent when we were there. There is also a good sized car park. Well done to all the staff for making this a popular and good value hotel. Definitely recommended if you don't need anything fancy and good value. It's better than that.

This is not a dislike, just an observation. The rooms are at ground level with parking in front. This is great, if you don't want stairs, but the large glass windows, which give plenty of light, also mean no privacy from people walking past from the cars parked in front. There are vertical blinds to give you privacy, but if you're there during the day it makes the room dark. We were only there in the evening so it didn't matter for us anyway.

Friendly staff. Lovely pub and dining. Rooms were well equipped and clean, the beds were a little on the uncomfortable side but that might just be personal preference, great shower. . Check in smooth and easy.

No 'Do not disturb' sign in Room 16. No ironing board or iron. Lack of mirror, there was a mirror on the inside of the wardrobe door but that was no good for last minute preening nor did the flex to the hairdryer reach so hair styling was impossible!

Parking is very easy and perfect for a stay with my little dog. The room was a very good size and very quiet. The bed was comfortable, the power shower was amazing, and the staff were all absolutely lovely. The location was perfect for me as I was visiting friends and family all within a 20 mile radius, and Dovedale was very easy to get to.

I arrived late and when I got to my room, I could not find access to the WiFi code. Where was it? And the Breakfast start time of 7:30 was a bit late as I had to be at Toyota for 8am. I think a 7:00 start would have been better for me, but that was not a big issue.

Excellent room. Quite spacious compared with many hotels. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was fine, although cooked breakfast was also available at the weekend. Plenty of car parking space and ideally situated close to the A38 and A50 for connection to the M1. Pleasant location on the outskirts of Derby's Littleover suburb.

All good. Comfortable bed. Good room. Good ales and great food. Free continental breakfast is a nice touch too. Friendly staff. I like it here and it's super convenient for work at Burnaston.

Ideally would have preferred a bigger table/desk to allow some work to be done before dinner. That would be my only complaint, and it's not a big one.
