Location was fabulous. Lower Marsh is a lively market street closed to cars. Street vendors during the daytime, and outdoor seating at pubs and restaurants. But with all that, no noise issues. It's also perfectly situated for public transportation. Everything was clean clean clean. The staff were unfailingly cheery, polite, friendly, and helpful. And it's lovely to be able to come in late at night and relax with a cocktail, or get a fresh coffee 24/7.
We would have appreciated a small desk in the room, something to put a tablet or laptop on. And perhaps a bit of drawer space for clothes.

I like the quirky dark decor in the public spaces, with contrasting bright, clean and modern white bedrooms, and the slightly edgy location, including the market outside. Good soundproofing. Extremely helpful, friendly staff. Nice generous breakfast.
I hate the peculiar shower/ toilet arrangements, which offer almost no privacy at all. People have varying attitudes to privacy and intimacy, from "no holds barred" to obsessive modesty, but this arrangement caters only for the exhibitionist end of the spectrum. Even when travelling with our closest family there are times when most of us crave a few minutes peace and quiet behind a closed door and a solid partition. On a purely hygienic note it is bizarre to have the toilet behind a glass door, but the handbasin in the bedroom area so it is impossible to wash your hands without first touching the door knob.

First, this is a great hotel and the staff are excellent! The rooms are small but comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable. Depending on the side of the hotel, your view outside will vary. We got to look at the back of Waterloo Station which wasn't the most scenic but that wasn't why we picked the hotel either. The location is excellent and we walked everywhere from the hotel. Waterloo Station is also less than 5 minutes away so if you prefer the train it is easily accessible. The sitting area was great. The bar was also excellent. You'll feel like you are in a very fancy living room with jazzy music playing in the background. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance (highly recommend Rosa's Thai- that place is sensational!)
There wasn't much for the breakfast that's for sure. The staff did provide nice coffee drinks from the bar though and that was a plus. There is not a lot of space in the bathroom- it's basically a toilet walled off by frosted glass so minimal privacy. If you are traveling with new boyfriends/girlfriends, you should be ready to get pretty familiar with each other really fast if you stay here.

Style, friendliness of the staff, breakfast, efficiency
A little pricey for the size of the room

I loved the whole atmosphere of the hotel and the awesome surroundings. It's incredibly convenient to Waterloo and we met lovely people in the hotel. I was disappointed that I wasn't informed about the later checkout times or indeed offered the free cocktail which was available apparently.
That we didn't get to have tea in our rooms despite the communal area being spectacular. A bit more colour is needed as it's a bit of a shock to the system as you walk into the bedrooms and theyre white and very minimalist.....and it's gloriously colourful elsewhere in the hotel...

The hotel smells beautiful when you walk in and there is always a warm welcome, the rooms are spotlessly clean. The main reason I return is because the bed and linen is so comfortable. I always have a lovely night sleep.
It’s a shame the breakfast is continental. But all the continental food is of a high quality, fresh bread and pastries. I would like to point out if you want a traditional cup of English breakfast tea it is very difficult. There are only small espresso mugs or large pint glasses. I couldn’t find any tea spoons or milk jug (I used an egg cup and filled it with milk to take to my table) it would be great to have a tea cup/mug, tea pot and teaspoons. That’s the only criticism I have and I will still return when I stay for work.

Modern boutique concept hotel with a swish vibe. Helpful, experienced, friendly and professional staff. Comfortable if a little Spartan rooms. Absolutely fantastic location on a quiet and characterful cobbled street around the corner from Waterloo station. The 24/7 food was brilliant - excellent pizza at 3am! The bar was well stocked and the staff make great cocktails.
These are small issues and are only me being fussy really, but the only 2 things that I felt were sub-optimal were (1) the lack of option to have food brought to the room - neither breakfast nor the 24/7 bar menu and (2) the lobby area is very cramped and confused - once you come in through the entrance doors you have to squeeze a suitcase through a tight gap.

Great location near Waterloo. Cute street with cafes, bars etc. Really lovely, helpful welcoming staff, especially Chiara, who looked after us so well. Good continental breakfast serviced by Marcelo and Roma who were very pleasant and friendly. Room was spotless and bed, towels etc were good quality. The sound proofing was amazing for central London, we couldn’t hear anything from the street below and we slept really well.
Don’t like having to go to central place to make tea/coffee as no kettle etc in the rooms.

I love their philosophy of "smart luxury" or whatever term they used. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were quite large and comfortable by typical London standards, the wifi was free and worked well to take a few work calls, and the lounge area was welcoming and cool. Despite being very busy, it was not too loud, albeit this was a mid week stay. I particularly liked the "galley" concept they had on each floor with free coffee and tea rather than take up space in every room with a kettle and coffee machine. Much more sustainable! Oh and the bar makes interesting delicious cocktails -- not your typical stuffy boring hotel bar. Location is fantastic -- 3 minutes walking from Waterloo train / underground station, about 20 minutes walking to cross the Thames into Covent Garden, and the Lower Marsh market outside during the day with interesting street food options was an unexpected bonus. The only minor thing missing for me was a fitness center in the hotel, or better yet an agreement with a nearby gym for guests to use while staying there. I would definitely stay at the Ruby Lucy again!

Breakfast was buffet style but very good quality. Hotel is in an excellent location within spitting distance of Waterloo station and walkable to south bank. Loved the size of the balcony the biggest we’ve ever had in a London hotel although weather wasn’t great so wasn’t able to take advantage of its size.
The configuration of the room with to at foot of bed against the window meant curtains could not be closed fully as there was no gap behind the tv. Position of Door for shower cubicle meant you could not have the shower mat immediately in position as you stepped out of shower as door in the way. Fine for single night stay but would probably grate if staying for longer.
