We enjoyed the beautiful decor. It was certainly eye-catching and unique. The setting of the building was peaceful too. We enjoyed the sound of birds in the trees! The bed was comfortable and we were grateful that the staff had turned on the heating in our room prior to our arrival. We are impressed with the quick response by staff to our request for a gluten free option for breakfast.

It was a bit tricky to locate the driveway at night because the hotel sign was not illuminated. It is unfortunate that there is no lift for those who have mobility issues. We were not a fan of the bathroom door.

Beautiful big room, very clean, warm (even during a cold winter night thanks to a heater in the room), great water pressure (though shower was across the toilet and floor would easily get wet due to no shower curtain). Microwave available in the hallway. Quiet - there were at least another couple of rooms occupied, but we couldn't hear any noise at all. Nice scenery outside, in close driving distance to the university (12-15 minutes). Would happily visit again.

Fridge was inside a wardrobe next to the bed, and heater was in front of the desk across the bed - both were going throughout the night and the noises definitely noticeable. If light sleeper, would recommend ear plugs/headphones. Breakfast was a small selection of toast and muesli with some fruit/spreads - would probably not opt for that again.

The hotel felt exclusive - it was tucked away from the road, was designed and decorated well, had a big comfy bed, and we liked the use of recycled material everywhere. The breakfast was an excellent offering and they has non-dairy milk available too. We were upgraded as we went out of season, which was a lovely touch - the bathroom was huge and my partner really enjoyed the bath!

The only thing that I suppose was a tiny bit inconvenient was how to lock the door when leaving! Had to push the button on the inside and then close it on the outside. Luckily the receptionist called up to us as they heard us struggling with it!

So clean and comfortable, it was also away from the center of Hamilton so it was very peaceful. The room itself was very clean and the shower had great water pressure. The staff in the property were also so nice and helpful, they even organised breakfast for us in our room in the morning to save us going downstairs in the cold for breakfast. The service was amazing, we definitely would come back to stay here.

Nothing, it was an excellent stay.

Absolutely loved the decor, it feels very nature inspired and clean and has so much character! The entrance doors are so epic! The owners/staff were so lovely and upgraded our room, if you stay here you absolutely MUST get the upgraded room with the spa bath!! It was amazing! The room was so spacious and we stayed in over 20 different hotels on our travels around New Zealand and Australia and this hotel was by far my favourite!

The property and accommodation were excellent. So close to everything a great base to do day trips in the North Island. We received an upgrade to a 3 bedroom apartment which was amazing, so comfortable everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was ever too much to ask. Very clean and comfortable beds. The continental breakfast which was included was fabulous. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Everything was great.

Lovely clean hotel in beautiful grounds. Continental breakfast didn't have the widest selection, but plenty of it available.

Quite near a busy road and on the side we were on facing the road was a bit noisy overnight. Not keep you awake noisy, but noticeable. Exit off-site the next morning was a bit tricky - tens of cars coming in on the single track entry road one after another for what seemed to be a breakfast event meaning it took a few minutes to be able to leave site. If we'd been warned this was happening we could have timed leaving to avoid this.

For what I paid, I felt like I'd booked into a 5 star hotel! Large open plan but rustic atrium. Beautifully furnished room, deep pile carpets, really comfy bed, large bathroom with great walk in shower high enough for me to stand under (being 1m92, that's rare!)and located in beatiful countryside. Nice breakfast in the morning. Felt like a luxury resort. Possibly the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in!

The latch on the balcony door was not very secure.

An astonishing place. I guess it mainly serves as a function centre, conferences, and particularly weddings for which it is superbly appointed. When we stayed here there were only six other couples staying and we received a complementary room upgrade . The room was beautifully appointed with a spa bath and walk in shower. Tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge were provided and a self service continental breakfast was included. There was no evening meal or bar service during our stay but all the hotels facilities, beautiful gardens and indoor and outdoor seating were available such that we could bring our own provisions in with us. This suited us fine. Both Hamilton and Cambridge are only a short drive away should you require to dine out.

Nothing as far as we were concerned .

Breakfast was good, a little limited but more than enough. The location was beautiful and quiet and close to the airport. Only a few minutes outside of Hamilton. We appreciated the peacefulness of it.

The room temperature was fine. Good heat and comfortable but the main lobby and breakfast area were very cool. Space heaters helped but additional ones would help even more. Needed to bundle up somewhat when going down to common areas.
