This hotel offers a wonderfully quiet environment with well-maintained facilities. While it doesn't boast the opulence of a luxury hotel, it has a charming simplicity that reminded me fondly of a student dormitory. Despite its modest nature, it provided everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Basic amenities and coffee machine was available, and I particularly appreciated the convenience of having a washing machine and dryer on-site. It was also great to be able to refill my water bottle when the water dispenser was accessible. Breakfast was nice, which provided a satisfying start to the day with freshly fried eggs plus sausages, and bacon. The bed and bathroom were clean, ensuring a pleasant and hygienic experience. Although there wasn't air conditioning, the provided fan kept the room comfortable on warmer days. The refrigerator and the cable TV, complete with Disney Channel, were thoughtful additions that my daughter especially enjoyed.

If I were to suggest an improvement, it would be regarding the water dispenser. Consistent and unlimited access would have been greatly beneficial, as it was occasionally inaccessible or not refilled, which proved a minor inconvenience. Additionally, it's worth noting that shops are not within immediate walking distance, and both vending machines and the water dispenser had limited hours. Lastly, do remember to bring coins for the laundry facilities.

Large, bright room, clean kitchen with decent basic amenities. Firm, comfortable bed. Breakfast seems to have improved since some of the negative comments. Eggs made to order along with other American style proteins. Easy check in via email however there is a real live human being available during business hours if needed. Parking underground in the same building.

Bathroom had a weird odor, needs an update. Parking should be included. Our weekend temps were 80+ degrees, not having air conditioning was challenging. A bit far from central Vancouver so you'll need a car to get around, public transport is an option but takes an hour to get to most places.

The room was basic but clean and ideal for our needs. The digital entry system to the building and rooms was the best we have come across, no messing about with keys or swipe cards. The centre is located on the University campus in an amazing area. Very peaceful and tranquil with lots of trees, shrubs and flowers along wide roads. The rose garden on the campus is amazing. A transport hub is 10 min walk away with buses to downtown Vancouver. Cafes, and shops are close by, as is the beach. Underground parking is available at a cost but worth it because there are parking restrictions elsewhere.

Breakfast service could be organised better. It was not clear what to do. People were walking around, getting in each others way looking for hot drinks, cereals, cooked breakfast. The cooked breakfast had 4 choices shown on photographs, but what was on the plate did not always resemble the portions shown. Better seating needs to be provided, maybe smaller tables but more of them.

Great location to easily get around campus by walking. Very quite in the evenings during our stay. Room temperature was fine at this time of year, but could be quite warm in the summer months. The digital codes they send you to access everywhere at site worked well without needing to download the associated phone app.

Bring your own pillow if you require any form of neck support as they are ultra soft, not firm at all. Be sure to arrange additional room or access needs if you require support for anything prior to arrival if you have a late check in, as there is no support staff until 8am. We ate breakfast three mornings, but only enjoyed 1/3 and that is with same of 4 choices each morning; the morning meats appeared to be deep fried and well over done and batch cooked pancakes which were inconsistent in texture. These points are more for awareness and by no means made this a poor experience.

The Check-In & Out process was very easy and accessible. The room was clean and in an ideal location. The location was peaceful and fun to explore the university campus. The breakfast was a highlight.

The elevator went out the day we moved in, and then it wasn't back up for another 24 hours. We found a water bottle in the room that didn't belong to us, so cleaning could be upgraded slightly. It would have been nice to know that the building is a theology building, so there was a lot of religious symbolism and paperwork around.

It was perfect and comfortable for a short trip where I was out and about the whole day. I stayed here for 6 days. The self check in and checkout is super convenient and all digital. The room is clean, got all the basic essentials one needs and a supply closet to pick up anything that got over. It includes a pretty filling breakfast, though the variety doesn’t change everyday. It’s situated close to the rose garden and spanish banks on campus where the view is absolutely beautiful. The bathroom tub is a nice plus. Great value for money!

Its at UBC which is anyway far from the downtown and it’s a 10 min walk to the bus loop at UBC from Carey Centre

The room wasn't big but there was everything we needed, IT was cleanand bed was comfortable. The breakfast was also pleasant And we liked Mrs. Mint who served it she was really nice. The location Is Ok with many buses going downtown within about an hour.

IT depends WHO makes the breakfast. One lady prepaired very tasty ones, the other didn' t cook the sousage and the egg properly. If you stay longer, the breakfasts become bit monotounous. There are 4 options 3 Are variatons od eggs on different ways, Bacon/sousage and potatoes. Option 4 are pancakes.

Room was tidy and clean - not too modern but quiet and cozy enough. Breakfast was included and was decent- student-type cafeteria with continental breakfast. Location was perfect was visiting around and taking buses.Very affordable on the beautiful UBC campus near many attactions.

It was little strange to have a "self-serve" hostel type but I did not know what to expect. When I got there, I understood that this was most often used as a student accommodation with some staying there permanently. I got used to it and felt like I was back in my university days: great atmosphere to stay young!

Lets be honest its not the Ritz, but it never professes to be. Its smart student style accommodation. The rooms are of a good size, the beds are comfy, the bathroom is clean and functional. Location wise the campus is lovely, it is a 40min bus ride from the centre but as its a College campus busses are frequent (every 5 mins or so) into the centre. The fact it is out of the centre does mean travel in but it also means its lovely and quiet. The free breakfast was a real treat after flying in the night before (again it wasn't anything fancy but good well cooked breakfast)

Using a coffee maker to make tea isn't ideal but we managed.

We found the check in experience a little confusing, arrived after office hours so had to use a check in module. At the time not fun, but helped the next people so learned fast. Room clean and comfortable, lots of hot water. Breakfast OK, very chaotic with little signage. Had to ask for some things but nothing to indicate the need to ask. (Yogourt, fruit) Beautiful location, lovely walks around campus. Lots of international guests.

Never did figure out car. Had to apply for parking spot and pay the next day for the couple of days we were there but no tag or anything to indicate we had paid. Car still there the next day so everything OK.
